I've got 3 mining alts in a Hulk and 2 Covetors sitting in a backwater .5 system that I log onto 3 times a week to drain it of all ore.. The builders in the next system/s pay top rates for it all so I make loads of no risk isk mining basic ores in empire.. When I'm feeling frisky I tuck them into some all t1 equiped ospreys and go ninja mine in low sec.. I will be honest,, every once and a while out in low sec,,, when I see a Veld of biblica proportions,, I turn my lasers on it till it pops.. just to see how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie-Veld pop. (about 5 cycles on the really big ones,,, which is way less then I thought it would be).

Okay here you go. T1 Strip Miners [Too lazy to use the T2 versions) (2) Mining Laser Upgrades Mining Rate per laser not great (1198/180 sec) Spent an hour never moved, stripped everything. Kernite, Pyrox, Scordite & Veldspar (NO JASPET) 6.5 Million in an hour. Used evemon and pheonix Industries for the quick price check The belt was random and not alot of Kernite or Pyrox. (Some belts are heavier in some ores this one was fairly average of what you see) Hope that helps explain why you see hulks mining Veldspar and everything else :)

It's something safe for her to do that makes money. Having her sitting docked waiting for me to return with stuff to refine or waiting on a factory to finish up is just a waste when she can be making some "free" isk.

Currently veld is the least profitable ore. But it's not worthless and it is plentiful. A good hulk pilot will make ~110k isk per minute mining veld and 175k isk per minute mining scord.

No trit, no megathron. Depending on the mineral prices, sometimes I make more mining velds in my hulk than scordite. Regardless, I get around 5 mil an hour, no matter what I mine (in 0.8)

It regularly fluctuates to 3.9 nowadays

The lasers pull in an ammount in m3 rather than a number of units of ore, all the highsec ores bring in about the same ISK per hour. Also with Veld rocks you have less issues with the rocks popping.
