What was the problem? (Can't help it, you've made it kinda a thing now, and I'm all curious.) |

Slayer Liberator wrote:How deeply have you ever stabbed anyone who trusted you?
Kinda deep. A couple of years ago, one of my closest aides was flying as my backup logi anchor and made a completely innocent error, said the wrong thing on comms, and as a result, the billion-ISK Scimitar she was flying was summarily destroyed by our own fleet and she was drummed out of her Alliance. I should have cleared everything up, but didn't realize what was going on until coalition COINTEL assets had already reached their initialGÇöand incorrectGÇöconclusion.
Continued diligence by the COINTEL group demonstrated Ivory was not, in fact, compromised, and by then I had hauled down Laz to try to clear things up, but I've always regretted the lack of confidence and trust in my own instincts (at the timeGÇöthis is one of the incidents that burned that away) that kept me from preventing the entire mess in the first place. I should have. She trusted me to be her CO and take care of her, and I failed her.
The error? She hadn't configured her broadcast settings to exempt target broadcasts, and we were fighting tengufleet vs tengufleet. Ivory locked a broadcasted target by mistake, and saw a tengu being quickly burned down. As the backup anchor, she attempted to martial the logi to save the ship before realizing it was red. The wrong words on comms?
"Reps on Cain."

Can I opt for 'infrequently'? Of the two though, dying happy would probably make me happier, since it's sorta tautological.

Human beings are animals. Mammals, in fact.

Chocolate. Putting your faith in other people is just asking to be murdered by the ones closest to you.
Why do you do what you do, put up with all of the vagaries and hardships of daily life, rather than just turning off the clone contract and stepping out naked into hard vacuum? |

Neph wrote:Anyways. What's your favorite corporate livery?
Favorite corporate livery? Black Omega Security. It's black. It's an omega. It's pretty simple and straightforward, declares exactly who they are. Just what livery should do. Never any question about 'hey, who's that black ome-oh.'
Diana Kim wrote:What ship do you hate the most?
To fly? The Basilisk. It's slow. It turns badly. The target signature's huge. It doesn't tend to bring anything significant to the table for that horrible speed and bloated sig, compared to the Scimitar. Yes, if it's fitted with an afterburner, it can either have an additional shield repper or a utility ETA, but if you're fitting a Basilisk with an afterburner, you're an idiot who deserves to be chased down by tackling battleships, because you won't outrun a damned Abaddon. Even with a microwarp drive, you're cripplingly slow. It's one of, if not the only Tech II cruiser hull I can think of that can't outperform its basic version in terms of sheer maneuverability. And it's a shame, because other than its navigational profile, it's a very solid ship, but that one flaw really sinks it. If the State could re-engineer it to accept a third low-power system, it'd be immensely improved.
What's the one thing you respect most about the faction/alliance/organization that you find yourself fighting against most consistently? |

skipped question by Utari Onzo wrote:To go back to an earlier answer of mine, what do you think the origin of Man is? Did we come from the Evegate? Did we spring up seperately on our individual planets? Do you think ancient aliens created us?
I think the idea that we arose on separate planets is patently ridiculous, especially given the existence of the JoveGÇöalso humanGÇöand their records going back before any of the rest of us got to the stars. I think it's likely we arose from one central location, either the EVE Gate, Jovian Space, or somewhere else, and spread from there. Civilizations fall. We know that from the Talocan etc.

Space vacation. Planets are messed up. Standing out there, the only thing keeping you from the vacuum of space is that the rock you're on is so fat that it's convinced a whole bunch of air to try to crush you... s'just freaky. Gimme bulkheads.

No. Not even if it could be proven beyond doubt that your god was the actual creator. Being powerful does not entitle an entity to veneration. A powerful but utterly despicable creator would be worthy only of rebellion and opposition.

Worlds upon worlds where nothing lives that would recognize in us anything of themselves, where the idea of humanity is quaint and ancient. Where weapons such as ourselves would be abhorrent and horrifying to everything the inhabitants stand for, and where the insane race to escape death, which has given New Eden the twin atrocities of the Amarr faith, and us, has finally been left in the dustbin of history where it belongs.
