i think there should be a new mod added for ships. this mod can set in any high medium or low slot example of purpose say you put it in high spot it can grant itgrants you 1 medium and 1 low slot to open up for ship mods to be fit. say if fitted to a scorpian in high slot it cant gain medium slot so make the medium slot turn into 2 low slots making the scorpian have 5 high 8 medium and 6 low. or if you fit one on medium slot of scorpian you would have 6 high 7 medium and 6 lows. or say you fit this mod in a high slot on typhoon then you would have wind up having 7 high slots 5 medium and 8 lows. these step downs require no energy but if you want to step up you lose 1 slot to gain 1 higher slot example if you place it in low to get mor medium slots just like the mwd it will eat up 15%cap if you put it in medium slot to get a high then example place in medium slot of scorpian now the scorpian has 7 high slots 7 medium slots and 4 low slots. this will promote more diversaty in ship set ups rather than everyone have the same ship and mods plus it can make any ship.

A: Thats hard to read, could you please put spaces after each few sentences. 
B: The idea was thought about by CCP and scrapped, there were too many things that could go wrong. And some ships just dont need more slots...(AKA Damnation reaaaaally doesnt need 8 lows to tank with, it does quite well with only 6.)

1st: knock down that damn wall and learn about the "enter" key.
2nd: thats a pritty stupid idea (if i read it right as i started to get bored and just skip to bits of it). im using the myrmidon as an example.. it already has a fairly awsome passive shield tank, and as the high slots arent its primary wep slots, it could easily sacrifice 6 slots for 3 meds and form an awsome passive tank so...
3rd: did you really think this through?
if my comments dont make sence its prolly because i couldnt make sense of the big brick of text so, correct me or feel free to break your post into bits for more useful info.

by the layout of your post.... I'd guess your actually serious about this.
It's a great Idea. I could then make my domi able to take on anything. I could even give my Myrmidon the ability to tank better than a hyperion. Ohh how i would love to trade those useless high slots for more EW and tanking.
More EW and i got less hitting me. tracking disruptors, and damps for those at long range. More Low slots... OHH YEA!!. Then I could tank ohh say... ANYTHING
HMM only one problem... everyone's ship would have slots such as 3-8-8 and be just as good... Now I'm starting to think this post was placed for laugh or lack of any kinda thought
Don't I feel stupid now... Let's forget all about it. High to medium to low is in no way a step down. For many of us, low slots are the most valuable. They are the ones that tank, multiply damage with damage mods, give us the power to equip bigger guns etc. Medium slots are the ones that stop you from getting away from your certain doom.
If they were step downs, then we would have High power, medium power, low power weapons, tank gear and blah blah blah.
Just imagine a vexor that tanked like a Dominix but just did 40% less damage and had less nosf. Vexor with 8 low slots, 8 medium slots would be much better than a BS is today. Sure, you got less cap, PG, cpu, and hitpoints... But you can fix most of that with mods. with those 8 slots, You can easily EW most ships to the point they can't even damage you.
Give the Hyperion the ability to hold 8 low slot mods and 8 mid slot mods and all It would need is a single gun and 4 warp scramblers, It could then tank fleets.

if the idea was thought up by ccp it cant be a bad idea...
they just needed a simple salution to make it work and i fixed it.
shild tanking is bettr than armor tanking but most ships prefer armor tanking.
this can give diversity allowing a shild tanker to have option to armor tank or give up offence for tanking.
it can even allow to sac some tank or elect warfare for more guns. doing so changes the ballance of ship design.
more guns means better PVP
more low mods means better PVE

Any ship can either shield or armor tank, some do it better than others. Your idea would create massive game imbalance.

it would not be massive imballance cuz yes you can tank better but someone who as another gun will eat your shilds.
if you limit it to only 1 mod that modifys these ship slots, then you will not see a drastic change.
OVERALL IT IS A GIVE AND TAKE IF YOU WANT POWER GIVE UP TANK IF YOU WANT TANK GIVE UP POWER!
how can a mod that limits itself cause imballance?

I have an awesome idea too.
It involves using the shift key now and then. It also involves spelling names of ships correctly.
As they say, there is no r in faction, a in Scorpion, or n in turret.

i am one of militaries finest awarded stratagist in real life i dont come up with a plan unless i can assure the outcome is greater than the setback.
i have improved on the original idea and by my calculations they will not make much a differance.
amar galente and half of minmitar ships are designed for armor tank cildari and the other half of minmitar ships shild tank that is where i get my facts from.
why wouldnt ccp want to enhance the pvpers? they always complain its to hard to get a good kill and the innocent always complain it is to hard to escape.
yes a shild tanker in pvp is in a large group not solo if you see a solo tanker in pvp they lose and it is proven time and time again by pirates with paper thin ships.

Being a SupCom Armchair General doesn't count.
Your idea is loosely cobbled together. CCP thought of this idea and rejected it as game imbalancing. The reason is that Tanks and Ganks would become overpowered and the PvP experience would again be hurt such as when the armor boosts recently took place. Gain experience in the game, then come back and make posts.
PS: Get some grammar, spelling, and sentence composition training.
EDIT: I could pick apart your above post, but that would be rather cruel.
