I recently Started an alt account I took my char thru the normal training. I finished the first Agent, who then sent me on to a second agent who had a ten part mission for me to compelte I will say the 2 months between chars, the agent things have changed some, I think for the better, but the purpose of this post is while doing this ten part mission the agent kept giving me diff skills and items, I did end up with two copies of cybernetics, but the last skill book I received was Salvage drone operation, I had not heard of it before and I am constantly looking at the list of skill books. So I opened up the market and their was no listing in skills for this book, so then I went to drones and no listing of a salvage drone. My question now is how long before we see this skill on market for all players and when can we expect to see salvage drones hit the market.

You seriously got a "Salvage Drone Operation" skill?? That's the first I've heard of it, although people have been clamoring for a salvage drone since salvaging came out.

I created a new character just for that skill pack, but it seems that "Caldari Achura Soldier" is not the right path ... I received a few skill packs (Propulsion Jamming, Afterburner, Hull Upgrades) and a +1 implant ...
I'm guessing Gallente, maybe the Industry path ?

I suspect it will have to be a Gal, to bad we don't what what Skill tree set, But i have an Alt on my Main account that I use for 0.0 Picks ups because it's disposable (no training, and just basic clone and ship) that Should allow me to be able to see if a Gal Fighter type, that is not Spec ops can get it.

Gallente/Business/Entrepaneur worked for getting the skill.
Mission line was called "Balancing the Books", and the skill was the bonus reward for step 8.
Tip: Boost Int/mem when creating char, since you will need Electronics 1 (which you don't start off with)

Ok, this will probably ruin it for everyone, but so be it. You need Gallente alt for this or Gallente standing. Go to Bourynes system (University of Caille) and do the 2 part mission for the tutorial agent. Once, that's completed. You need to go to Trossere and speak with Antogase Pandon. At first, he may refuse to chat with you. Just close out the chat window and try again. Then he should offer you a 10 part mission where on step 8 you will get the book.

Looks like i started a live thread here.
Last night you could find contracts with the skill book ranging from 90 mil to 100 mil for skill book. I learned mine I want the drones when they come out. I was hoping we would get a dev to shed some light on the subject of when we could expect to see the book in the market and when the drones would be available to buy.

For the photoshop speculants: The image posted is a .jpg. JPG uses lossy compression, so in any part of any picture where you don't have large areas of the same colour (ie. near text etc) pixelation like in his proof will occur. All photoshop 'experts' ought to know this.
Why anyone would pay large sums of isk for a so far useless book isn't that hard to understand. We've got a few skill *****s around and I'm sure they wouldn't mind having it just for the sake of having one more on their list. ;) |

I have a better idea, since I plan to do the mission multiple times ( easy money, from the implant rewards ), I might just do that.
There is another element to the market that very few people are exploiting, I am sure true traders can think of what I am talking about.

Some guy was in rens yesterday selling them, he said he has made 750M from selling them so far. Shame there are no drones to use them with, looks like ccp made a little bo bo with their loot tables

Its not loot, its a reward.
I have made 45 million and perhaps 2 million from people buying the required mission items for 200% markup ( mind you thats better then the 70,000 isk Tracking Computer being sold ).
I can't say that I hope more people purchase it because they are lazy, even if I have to sell it for less to make it worth them not doing really really boring missins.

I'll give you a hint, and leave you to do some research on your assumption. Below is an exercise to guide your self-study.
Hint :
The file (yes, the little purple picture is a computer file) is a JPG file.
Exercise :
Take a screenshot in Eve, and save it in Paint. Save one copy as a 24bit BMP and one as a JPG. Compare the filesize. Now look up (don't forget to cite your sources) why their filesize is different, and go fetch a crowbar to extricate your foot.

cough* get a tech I fast frig, go to map, search for tross, go to the sinq noob system, dock, talk to the right agent, get the ten part mission, part 8 delivers the skill, takes you like 90 mins to complete the set and you can do it over.. and over... and over.. *cough

Interesting stuff too, since the skill book made its way into the game there should be some drones available at some point. Though I canÆt help but wonder when à anyone got a line on when this might occur?

um, like biology used to be?
anywho, they're still up for sale in contracts and there's no mention of them being removed in patch notes. i'm sure there's a logical explanation (someone made a mistake) and that the skills will be restored.

I only had lvl 1 trained ... no point in wasting time till there's a benefit from doing so but yeah - no mention in patch notes that I recall so maybe it's another case of them using slightly wrong version of code to patch and missing something. Usual patch day surprises 
Either way I'm sure we'll be told soonÖ enough what's up.

Maybe CCP don't like to admit that they made a mistake with the bonus reward and you should have just got faction standing like you do with the (non-repeatable) Matari version . Or maybe they figured everybody would get it was just a joke item and not start buying them for millions of ISK

Yeah, but if you try to accept those contracts, nothing happes. (You don't get the skill, and no isk is deducted from your wallet, and the contract is still there.) That was the first thing I tried after I read the complaints in the patch thread.

I got the warning a bit late.....just had to have a GM spawn the item in my hold because the civvie transport wreck (mission 2/10) is bugged.
So......had to wait for a petition and find out it was for naught.

i asked the dev team in a patition about this skill and they told me it was to be implamented and they started but decided against it.
rather have you salvage than drones.
to many complications...
this skill is old and they have not removed it from agents put plan to soon!

so whats the status with this skill? I see people syaing that they had theirs removed and some people saying they got it back... there's still a few on contract atm and I'm thinking of picking it up as a collectors item... I'd hate to buy it though and have it disappear as soon as I claim it

It was removed, then placed back, but the skillbook is still removed as a mission reward for the time being per the patch notes I would imagine.

did you? well... ever heard of compression artifacts? those pixels come from jpeg-compression... and that's exactly what the eve client does if you don't save them as hq from start.
but yeah.... you might be right, some image editor was actually used to cut out the part out of the image. so this has to be a fake, right? o_O
