The Poll - 165 voters since 2007-03-23 14:40 - Poll not advertised until today. - Site is a bit Caldari/Gallente Orientated. - No guarantees of accuracy. :) The Results Amarr 9.7%(16) Caldari 10.3%(17) Gallente 48.5%(80) Minmatar 31.5%(52) The clear winner was Gallente, followed by Minmatar, with Caldari and Amarr being left in the dust. Idara Caldari Missioners Anonymous	Posted - 2007.04.12 03:35:00 - [4] Minnies and Gallente have the most fun ships, with Minnies edging them slightly there, while the Gallente have the best spread of ships to choose from, be it close in blasterboats, railboats for fleets or drone boats. Caldari are meh and Amarr are seriously lacking in and kind of other options aside from the bull**** Gallente-style drone ships and whatever niche the Khanid are supposed to fill. --- The CAOD forums:

I agree Gallente are out in front but I think Caldari would edge out Minmatar. Not to say Minmatar have a poor lineup (they have some great ships) but Caldari edge them out more often than not. - Best PvE ships all around - Great T1 Frigs (Kestrel, Merlin) - Best Interceptor (Crow) - Best mining cruiser (Osprey) - Perhaps best BC (Drake...super passive tank FTW) - Best sniper (Rokh) - Only ones who can really pull off EW well (Blackbird/Scorpion) Sure there are other ships that may beat them here and there and not saying there need to be nerfs but for a full lineup that gives you options for most anything that suits you Caldari really shine. Amarr of course should be left in the dust. They simply do not stack up well.

THe apoc sux, besides damage, the armagedon has a weak tank, the abaddon runs out of cap fast. Besides the arbi, the 3 other cruiser suck for pvp. The hacs suck too. the af/inties are decent but not excellent. hmmm what else. I guess they have a good carrier and frig (punisher)

Ammar has the best solo Recon--Curse Caldari have the longest range sniper --Rook Ammar have the higest DPS sniper--Abbodon Minnie have the funiest ship to choose--Vaga/nanophoon Caldari have the best noob mission runners/Raven Gal have the ship we hope we never see ina gang/any recon ship Gal have the best solo BS Domi the list can go on and on. Minnie have the best AF--Jag plus best dictor Gal have best Cap ships.

Given the Gallente popularity, is it then so that Caldari pilots are emo whiners while Gallente always vote for their own? And what Viper says - given there's so many different kinds of ships and different kinds of PvP, I think the answer quite a bit depends on what kind of PvP ops it really is that you are involved with. Amarr of course should be left in the dust. They simply do not stack up well. Merlin and Kestrel are nice frigates, but they're really not all that good at _being_ frigates. Light cruisers maybe, but not frigates. Mining cruiser? Scythe is comparable, but ... well so's the Omen or Thorax. Unless you're talking about high levels of cruiser, at which point you can mine in a BC or BS, or hell, just train a retriever. Best BC? Not convinced. Check out the Myrmidon or Brutix sometime. They're terrifying. The Drake passive tanks well, I agree, but ... well so what? Rokh's the longest range sniper, I'll give you. It's also the best mining BS. Crow as well, is a nice 'ceptor for fighting other ceptors, but for general usage I'm not so sure that the others out there aren't better. And as for EW, the Scorpion does something no other race can - 8 mids on a BS. The BB on the other hand, you'd probably be better off flying a celestis. (Or arazu/Lachesis over Falcon/Rook)

I used to fly a Drake for PVP with ACTIVE tank (passive tanking has pitiful survivability in gang warfare, since once your HP drops below 30 percent, you're done for). And good god, the Myrmidon, Thorax, Vexor and Domi completely and utterly trash their Caldari counterparts of Drake, Moa, Caracal and Raven. ECM really is rather pitiful at the moment unless you're terribly skilled, in which case you still get utterly trashed if anyone gets a lock on you or manages to drop drones. I've got advanced ECM skill to 4, had 5 second-best named Gallente specific jammers, with 2 signal distortion amps on a Cruiser 4 Blackbird... yet failed to jam an enemy Astarte once with 3 cycles. Looking through the wreckage of his ship after my gang got him, he didn't even pack ECCM. The poll reflects reality. Name a common Gallente ship that sucks at PVP. Can you think of any? Now name Caldari ships. Oooh yeah, there we go. When was the last time a Moa gang tried to gank you? Are there cries of 'Nerf the NOS-Scorpion'? I don't think so. :) ~~~ Action! Suspense! Jita! The only thing I find hilarious is that almost every response in this thread can be put into one of two categories 1) "OMG how did (Caldari/Amarr) get rated so crappily! Clearly this poll is inaccurate because (insert the few ships from those races that are actaully good) are the pwnzor!11!1!eleventy!!111!" 2) "Well this poll proves that everyone thinks the grass is greener on the other side. Everyone knows for a fact that insert race is the best, but all their pilots are so spoiled and they whine and complain even though their ships are the best there is!" (sorry for gross exageration, I'm just trying to make a point.) Clearly the Gallente are the most popular because just about everyone who flies Gallente will vote for Gallente because a lineup Gallente ships are all very decent with really no completely useless ships (Ares is the only one people complain about). Caldari pilots also all vote for Gallente because even though they fly Caldari most Caldari feel shafted when they try to fight against their Gallente rivals in pvp. Caldari has some great ships but also quite a few sub-par ones when compared directly to Gallente. Minmatar are also very popular because the speed of their ships makes them very fun to fly. Again because all Minnie ships are fast, there's really almost no Minnie ships that are considered useless. And once again, their rivals, the Amarr, can only shake their heads and feel that they got the shaft in comparision. Yes the grass always is greener on the other side (except if you're Gallente ), but if you read these forums you'll notice a trend that is very closely modeled in this poll. In general most people will continue to fly the ships they orginally trained for, which is why you still see Caracals and Mallers in pvp, but there are a lot people who would exchange their skill points in heartbeat, and the ones that have switched from Caldari and Amarr to Minmatar and Gallente end up a lot happier Sigs are overrated.

They fly what's best.. for them. Not everyone is skilled to fly other races' higher ended ships. For Caldari, cross-training to anything but Gallente is hard. You not only have to pick up the other ships, but their weapons, quirks and armor. With Gallente, it's only Armor and Drones. Not so bad. Most player fly what's available, not what's best. Else why would I ever fly a Brutix if I could use an Eos, or a Nighthawk or a Slepnir? The large number of ravens and caracals you see in PVP is because people are skilled for those ships because of the race they've chosen, or their utility in PVE or something of that sort. Take a look at the Raptor interceptor. It costs 8-10 mil. The same as a Taranis. The Taranis is better in every way. It's because those raptor pilots are trying to fly the cheapest available to them. If they wanted cheap tackles, they'd use 5 mil Stilettos and Maledictions. It's the same thing as why don't those Raven pilots use Domi or Megas. ~~~ Action! Suspense! Jita! Eve Tribune
C'taire Minmatar Convergent Firmus Ixion	Posted - 2007.04.13 23:20:00 - [21] all this talk about galentte being the uber race to be atm rather smacks of what i have heard over the last few years off all the other races, Amarr with their Gankageddon,Caldari with missiles in general (Kessie, Caracal, Raven, Scorpion, Moa......... ok not the moa, its always been the Joke of the teir 3 Crusers)the minmatar with thir alpha strike abilty esp on artillarys. gal ships used to be th but of jokes from caladri pilots upuntill i left for a while mid last year short of the domi, mega, rannis and deimos as they where reckonised as being the useful ships their are (Yes im predominantly a gal ship flyer, although i have the abilty of flying most other shiptypes short of the racial BS`s Point is it will balance out again before the years out and a new race (Proberbly the Minmatars turn realy)will be the new I WIN race and galentte pilots will be moaning they ships suck and are no longer a match for the other race
