I was wondering how long this would to hit CAOD (at least with a poster from a player corp). I thought that Chow and crew would make some kind of announcement here by now.
Not really a surprising move. Word on the street is that Galavet just won himself a bet with Blacklight for getting a Titan before BNC.

Its true for the foreseable future Shinra is closing it doors. Eve has been a lot of fun for us up until this point, and by the looks of things it will continue to be so. Anyhow, I rememeber shooting Shinra at that time ago during the very start of the CA/SA wars, so it's a big day when a corp like yourselves disbands. Same as with ATUK, MASS, SGE and others.
Good luck, just a shame you had to fully join the darkside.

LV were as hard core PVP corps.. and well respected by many
those who say the alliance against Bob cannot achieve anything should look at LV's achievements and see that taking down an alliance of that standing is no mean feat.

I know it's the same players etc, but I feel that something has been lost. We all knew Shinra were off to BoB, that writing was on the wall before LV were defeated, but I think everybody expected it to be as a corp.

For months I've expected the equivalent of Atuk -> DICE but... if you don't have the energy internally to reform a new corp I guess that means that Shinra really was burned out as a corp.
Be interesting to see if bob can maintain their drive with double the numbers they had in their glory days. Personally I think they're showing signs of starting to ***** and fray under external and internal stress.

I think it is the next step in evolution of EVE. From small elite deep space pirate corporation to mass deep space alliance corporation to mass elite corporation.
It's bound to happen and I'm it takes guts to disband a corp like Shinra.

Wonder, where this leads us. If LV disbands there is no big alliance left in the south-east that challenge ra+goon+tcf for their territory. The only ones, who might do that later are BoB.
We could write D2 north on the map, BoB south-west and RA south-east and it's almost sufficient and that's a bit frightening.
I'm in a smaller alliance and don't want to be completely assimilated by one of those blocks. Maybe soon the only way to avoid that is not to claim any territory in the first place.

Sometimes we live where we live because it matches a style of gameplay we are suited to, take for instance our celebrity, norman; he's a guriella warfare specialist. I prefer good 1v1's, or even against the odds, and i seem to get a lot of fights in that situation from fountain.
BoB treats their pets well, and they get loyalty in turn.
You in turn, like fighting from a small group, in a similar style of norman, against bob.
You don't hate their members, their tacticts or such, you just want to ensure they 'dont' take over eve, as I'm sure alliances like D2/RA/Goon/Morsus share in opinion, but at the present moment, you're blue to them via 0utbreak <-> MC relations, so the gun is on temporary hold fire.

- What become LV now ? do they disband ? Can LV/Bob state a press release to clarify things ? Now the intel have leaked, could you explain why Bob and LV are friends, for history purpose ?
- If, by accident and luck, someone in the Coa shoot a Titan, did you knew this mean it'll be a Bob one ?
- I hope we'll see Bob without a Titan support. It became impossible to PvP with them now. I hope you'll don't get rusty.

My reading of this..
BoB is desperate to make up numbers, as is MC with the recent addition of SERA, you only have to look in the recruitment channels to see who is desperatly trying to recruit new members, BoB tenants are falling over themselves to try to gain members.
My question is tho, it is nice for the higher SP pilots in LV to get invited to join BoB, but what about the little man in the alliance, LV often claimed they were all there for each other, now some have taken their 13 peices of silver and left the rest of their alliance brethren to rot.
So much for loyalty and standing together

I will always be with LV, even if they die... LV was the first alliance to give me a chance in 0.0. Some other alliance who I will eternally despise because of the way they treated me... and that alliance was Roadkill.
LV had true honor, little to no smack, except to talk in retaliation to KIATolon >< Lots of good times in LV.

Wow, amidst all this, i think its a right smack to Shinra and LV as a whole that they cannot be allowed to join BOB as a corp and all d mess that comes with it, selective recruitment just shows that the entity as a whole was rubbish at it's end. It's not d smack from the adversaries that should hurt you. It's d right smack by BOB in your face at your corp :P.

Being a ff7 nerd, I can't help but notice that Bob's alliance logo is the Logoopf the shinra corp from FF7 (I think), and that LV their allies main corp (disbanded now) was called Shinra.
With the logo bob usees they should call their main corp Shinra, being they asorbed LV renamints they now have rights to the name.

Some people just don't have what it takes to make a stand for themselves and keep the fight so they just join the strongest and that's bending over. LV and thus shinra were always enemies of bob, so if you wanna ask when they bent over more i really don't know, but by now the must be in a really weird position.

You must be new here, nubsienubs. Shinra fought together with BoB when BoB didnt even own Period Basis/Delve/Fountain. Where we, if memory serves me right, and it does, fought your corp quite a bit.

Sad to see the end of Shinra, it was one of only a handful of really decent corps left in the game, but I know how hard it is trying to rebuild a corp once your alliance collapses around you and I guess you just couldn't be arsed and I cant blame you for that, its a game after all not a career.

Having been a member of KOS, and then LV for many months from the fall of N7 to the last pvp days in Detorid and the brief move to Stain, I can tell you it wasn't that LV was not good, it had a great number of very good, long time players. The corp leadership from people like Nebba was just bad. They barely went on the offensive with capitals against RA Forces while RA used them day after day, never tried to hold on to Omist by working with RISE, there was just no vision to drive leadership, except to save their precious capital ships.
About the Titan: To all of us like me who fought day in and day out in Shinra for LV, begging Shinra for the Titan and LV's capital ships to support us in Detorid, they just went afk while De1ta fought the good fight for Shinra. I will always admire K1lz and De1ta for showing us what Shinra should have done. I stayed up to all hours of the night helping the alliance move assets out of the south, stayed on the defensive in Detorid for as long as they called for it, and once in Stain, I personally tried to get Shinra to get all corps together, to move it's arse and back into the fight; "Stating, let's get out of stain and back into the fight before some small alliance rolls over us." Shinra wasn't interested in hearing about what real leadership should do. Instead, they removed me from the corporation while still in 0.0 for my post asking them to get back in the fight. Be real cautious in letting former LV leadership in your corps, the good folks left long ago. Any corp that would abandon KOS and then V to their deaths, not fight for their territory, and screw it's members is bad in everyones book. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Unless you were at 9-9 refining, anyone who reprocessed or refined helped pay for the Titan iirc. I was not there to help build it, but I do know what went on..
unless you helped pay the mandatory 17.5% tax on refine/reprocessing. I don't what to hear anything on how the alliance as a whole did not pay for it. I did not get there untill about 3-4 hrs AFTER the DD in 1v-L12. so I have no claim in helping the Titan. I do have claim to say that I did help build the titan that was popped in the shipyards in JV1.
I helped defend my home, and I failed. Everyone else did what they could, and we have failed in a minor step. I can be pretty sure that LV will rise and retake its lost territory and then some possibly.

You sound like a very bitter person. In a post to the LV forums, you described yourself as a "Hired Gun". You also mentioned that you had little play time in that post. So what did you contribute to LV other than annoying posts, and smack talking corps that left LV publicly? Normally hired guns just do their job, and keep their mouths shut.

I actually hung with Shinra several weeks in Stain after a number of good folks left, telling me Shinra was done, inviting me to join them elsewhere. I hung on until I heard their plan to gank noob-corp POSs in low sec space for fun - while they still had stations and sov in Omist. I was like; what losers, time to go, posted what I thought of their plan, pulled my assets, and that was it. I knew something was up when the forums went down for several days soon after my post.
I would never have posted this publicly out of respect to the few good Shinra still remaining while the corp was still around, and always kept my posts internal, but Shinra is dead now, it's history.
Again, Good riddance to Shinra.

Ive been flying with Shinra for 3 months and have under 7 Million SP's. They took me in, taught me how to fight/survive in 0.0 and kicked my ass when i messed up. I got no special treatment and had to prove my worth just as everyone else did. I was on the list of pilots first offered to join Reikoku and everyone else in the corp found out atleast 48 hours before we started joining (ample time for them to arrange to be part of the corp merger). So dude get your facts right before you start accusing Chow / Shinra of abbandoning low SP pilots.
The remaining LV corporations will continue to function and survive regardless of Shinra being there or not. Im going to miss flying with LV and i wish them all the best for the future.

In a post I placed in the recruitment channel a few months ago a LV corps replied, and informed me in that post that there was compulsory mining for the corps/alliance. ( cant be bothered to look that far back now but I am sure if your that concerned you could find it.)

Erm, selective reading? Notice how you failed to address War Chile's post? So your whole argument falls apart really. And War Childe is not the only low SP pilot that was extended the offer.
And yes, just two compulsory mining ops in two years so seriously, please stop making wild accusations. Shinra is moving on and if you really feel like you have to drag its name through the mud but find you are failing miserably and making yourself foolish because you really don't have l33t hacking skills and use XML exploits in Vbulletin like a 13 year old.......

They got a better offer - Oddly people tend to act in thier own best intrests, and look for better oppourtunities. Who knows maybe BOB offered to let them touch thier pet monkey or fly with a group familiar to using and supporting a titan on the front lines.
Either way it is a personal decision and if it doesn't work out they will look for others.
What business is it of mine none, My only intrest is viewing fraps of a titan that goes down in an epic fight with a pilot at the controls.

Most of you are talking out of your butt holes when you describe how LV titans were financed.
1. the titan was paid for in pure ISK that was generated from our refineries.
2. The titan belonged to the entire alliance, however Shinra had the skills capable of flying it to the best standard (namely enslaver with his top notch armoured warfare skills & high doomsday skill - remember 1V-?)
3. Shinra retain the Titan as they leave, and why not? Nobody else has more pressing need for it's use than them / bob - The titan would serve little to no relevant use to anyone else in LV at this time so I'm sure that any sensible person does not have a problem with it.
Anyone that does have a problem (a lot of people here it seems) is being petty.

Yes, Velios was in LV, I have flown with him a couple times, and he was fun to fly with.. Even with the uber pwnage of Benvilio (sp? can't look at the KB for LV, I was involved in that kill along with Velios) I have only seen Enslaver 1 time, and that was the Jump Bridge to RYC, and I have seen Chow a couple times in the defence of DG- and 0-w.
I only saw 1 QUAM guy mining with a ferox tanking, another ferox boosting, and then his hulk. all 1 character and his alts.
CRICE Corp even had random mining ops and when a hauler spawn came in, we popped the spawn and 3-4 of us with haulers came in picked it up and when into the corp hanger. Even the random hidden belts and what not had CRICE miners in them.
but the refinery required a 17.5% tax and I think that the materials from that built the titan. It may be isk, but they had to sell the minerals fromt he refines for the BPO and the comp BPOs didn't they?

Dunno how the coalition can be proud of defeating LV as how many did it take? Thats not something to be proud of. I'm sure if LV had equal-ish numbers it would be coalition corps disapeering into other alliances. I mean didnt LV get close to defeating goons before the "train" left the station. Now a bullet proof locomotive is gearing up as a result, ready for a head-on collision and I for one cant wait to see it.

I find it strange that in anouther thread, the same groups that are flaming Shinra, are defending the rouge elements of D2 for keeping thier titan.
Its the same situation, only on opposing sides of the war.
Frankly I don't have an opinion on WTF happens to either titan. There's a lot that goes on behind closed doors, and 99% of the people in this thread don't have a clue about, myself included.
The biggest problem with this forum is people making half baked assumptions, then rolling with it as though it were the gospel truth.

Many corps and alliances disband, splitting assets is always a struggle.
As for Shinra keeping the titan, from an external point of view I cant comment. But I know that 60bn isk really isnt a massive amount when you talk about the benefit LV membership gave to its corps over the time it controlled space.
Shinra are unbdoublty instumental in creating that alliance and give those member corps the opportunity to grow.
I say, keep the titan you earned it!

Wasn't at least part of the titan paid from the sale of a BCU 2 from an alt of the enslaver (on a public auction)? If I remember correctly it was some 70+b.
Clarification:
The timing (a month and something before the titan showed up), the tottaly unexpected sale of an otherwise unsellable print (someone needed lotsa iskies fast), the seller (and the fact that he tried to hide his identity with an alt which only made sense when the titan showed up) and the sum of isk it went for (which was easily predicted) made me come to this conclusion.

Have you guys, thats "smacktalking" the ex-Shinras, checked that theres another LV pilot that can actually fly a titan?
I mean, its not one of thoose stabbed frigates that a certain alliance seems to be flying around with...
Whats the best thing to do then;
1. Bring the Avatar to BoB and actually use it,
or
2. Store it at a POS till the end of the days??? (or till a few hours later when it gets put into reinforce mode (the pos))

No, the ISK from the sale of that BPO was largely used to fund the second Avatar (the one which was destroyed while in production)

I`m not big fanboy of LV, especially when we were killing them for 1 year. But i`m pretty sure, what they should keep the titan. I`m pretty sure, chow did built it up just by him self, i`m sure there a tons of regular people who spend they time on it and etc.

In personal honesty, I think the thread should be locked. Its ancient history and 9 pages of it is just stupid. I don't check the forums that often, but CAOD just *****s me up so bad.

wait.. 5 months of smack?? What do you mean? I smacked 1 week after I left. I told you (and Lyla) that I was new to 0.0 and didn't know anything on it. And when I asked questions, I was immediately branded a spy?? I am not doing it here. I was just compairing Roadkill to LV from PERSONAL Experiences. Neyi Industries did the exact samething. I was also told that RK would have given me 24 hrs to get my stuff out. I was happily greeted with a few missiles up my tail pipe on my way out of there. So I have everyright to smack RK on that incident. There should have been atleast a mail ON THE FIRST TIME I WAS KICKED AND I ASKED! Not having to hear from Mutant Caldari that I was flagged and should be kicked 1 week later. Even I should have gotten that decency. As I said... I am not doing it here on the forums.
And I never said Shinra Corp was alive still. I meant that Shinra Pilots (via Employment history) is alive.
