Edited by: The Slayette on 21/04/2007 19:04:13 Pirates, upon entering hisec, are instantly beseiged by faction police. Locked, scrammed, webbed, shot, dead. Or not so dead. If there were ways and means to kill the faction police what would happen to the pirates? They aren't concord after all, and as such aren't invincible. Would more faction police spawn? What if they didnt? Would the pirate be free to run around in a hi-sec system? And if so would this be an exploit?
What if a pirate were to kill all the faction police and warp to an asteroid belt where he was shot by another pilot. Would he be free to shoot back without concord intervention? I have never seen this discussed and do not know this to be impossible or exploiting of ANY kind.

I like the spawn you get when youre at low standing with the NPC that has sovereignty - two frigates, one cruiser, and they pop like ibis'es

If you jump into highsec with -5 or less the faction police will engage you.
Usually, there will be 3 or 4 vice commissioners and 1 commissioner. The commissioner scrambles you, webs you, and permajams you. A drone ship that launches drones upon decloaking can kill all of the faction police and reappraoch teh gate and leave, or can fly around in system (or proceed further into high security space).
I have done this several times, and have even gone as far as New Caldari to demonstrate the possibility.
Once the original police spawn is killed, no further police will aggro until session change (ie docking, jumping, or relogging).
The normal Concord rules apply - if someone aggresses you then you can shoot back without drawing the attention of Concord. I have killed ships attacking me in this manner.
There is no evidence or any official statements anywhere which suggest that any of these things is an exploit as far as I am aware, and the fact that faction police do not operate in the same manner as Concord (ie spawning exponentially until the outlaw is dead) suggests that it is within gameplay. _____________________________________________

Only faction police will come to the aid, with 999 scramble points. And perma jam the sod, not likely he will go anywhere and do anything.
Its possible to pop the faction police with fof missiles, but the faction police will just keep spawning untill your dead.

FOFs tend to shoot the customs officials, which will result in your death.
If you use drones, they will only engage the police who engage you - although those police respawn, they do NOT re-aggro. Once you've killed all the police that were originally present you're free to fly around in system with impunity. _____________________________________________

There is no way for you to escape, when an outlaw enters high secure custom officials will always spawn and respawn when they die. Btw fofs only attack the targets that attack you these days. And well if there is officials, gl getting away.

But the same rules as always apply, yes? The pirates cant shoot you or concord will kill them? So the "Invasion" would be a bit... pointless, no?

No point - in high sec a blob of pirates isn't a blob of pirates - its a lot of individual pirates since each one can only shoot those who shoot him. _____________________________________________

That was a long time ago and a famous event. Back then the NPCs did not view people remote repping as outlaws. So Zombie Corp sat there and ganked for a long time in hi sec while being remote repaired and CONCORD could not stop them.
Several changes to the game were made after than including CONCORD going after support ships helping outlaws.
CCP did intervene eventually in that case. IIRC Zombie popped something like 300+ ships. Supposedly they refused to stop when CCP Devs asked them to which got them hit with the ban stick. I think the players who lost ships to Zombie that time had everything replaced.
Like I said...been a long time now so I may be a bit off on the details but that was the upshot. I do not think it is possible to tank CONCORD these days and even if it somehow were managed it is an exploit (really) to get attacked by CONCORD and not lose your ship.

I think the suggestion is that Concord do NOT attack you, just the faction police.

Right...was just saying in regards to some other parts of the discussion. You are free to kill/escape faction police.

SN3263827, how much damage do the faction police do, i remember in lonetrek region when you were doing hi sec incursions to shoot war targets we tried attack you while the faction police were there. sadly the plan didn't work to well so i assume they don't do much.
But was a waste of a war dec as we were dec'd a day after we had moved everything to join our new home, so only a few people remained to fight. I brought smart bombs for the domis drones, but I warped to 0 on the gate (industrial corps suck at pvp but was worth a go!)
So basically if you get past/kill the faction police you can engage war targets or wait for people to shoot you. Though its dangerous as anyone can shoot the pirate, and they can only shoot war targets/people who aggressed them only. seems something to do when bored at a gate camp.

I think theres been some misunderstanding between CONCORD & other empire faction police. CONCORD shoots players in 0.5+ who have a sec stat of -5.0. You cant & infact arnt allowed to survive them if they catch you. though if ur in a fast enough ship u can get away from them.
Empire (ie Gallente) faction police are different. They respond to empire faction standings not CONCORD sec stat. They are tough but not indestrctable like CONCORD are & are easily enough evaded if they start to aggro u. & afaik they operate like any other normal mission NPC in that u can shoot them n they can shoot you & CONCORD will keep their noses out of it as it doesnt fall withing their jurisdiction.
Course the moment you shoot a non war player target CONCORD leap into action n blow u into infinate tiny pieces

No sorry. When you entre Empire space with a low security Status you are persued by Faction police. I have evaded them in my Shuttle many times. Killing/ tanking / evading them is not banable and nither is doing the same by CONCORD or atleast I have never found anything about it from a Dev

OK lets try this again
SN is a pirate with i think -10
He warps into oimmo.
Concorde swirl around and don't do much, maybe scan for illegal contraband or what ever those bureaucratic npcs do. I sit in a stealth bomber 30km from the gate and watch SN and a another member of his corp in 2 domis shooting the police which engaged them.
After they are down he warps to a belt or something, while someone in local said ahh theres a pirate followed by the LOL concord will kill him followed up by but were at war.
SO Concord DO NOT attack people with -5. the faction police will. but concord will only engage if they do something which requires concord such as shooting people your not at war with or are not -5.
I know this cause i lost my ship trying to fight against one of these incursions with the idea the faction police will supply a little more dps than the 4 of our gang could do. Though can't remember if they fired or not was busy wondering why my smarts wernt ripping the drones to pieces /noob
So to recap. Pirates can enter high sec without concordokken, faction police will engage. anyone can shoot the pirates freely aslong as -5 or more. pirates can only shoot at those who engaged them. The only exception is if they are at war.
And if you say think this is wrong. war dec them and sit at otasai or nalvula gate for a bit in oimmo, I'm sure trial and error would solve this.

A battlecruiser (BC5) or Battleship can tank it on one rep with an energized adaptive tank, fully T1. Can't say what the actual DPS is but its not much. _____________________________________________

While all this is indeed true it appears that this is an exploit, as my main has been banned for doing exactly this (I was the second dominix).
