this sounds like the glitch that's been going around, knock your sec down again and you'll start getting credit
Kind of like the Triforce in Zelda, only not quite as potent.

To be honest, I used to grind sec status while pvping until I realised the full potential of dual-logging & alts. I can still gain access to highsec tradehubs with an alt who can fly my main's ships, all while podkilling all I want in lowsec. The best of both worlds, IMO.

Originally by: Nyabinghi Still I find the scenario of "punishing" the criminal by making him rat for isk rewards and loot rather ridiculous. That's even better than Club Fed. I mean...What the hell killin NPC rats got anything to do with player on player crime? Seems like the only person who's gettin the shaft here is the victim of the pirate.
Really?
I think it's fairly practical. Killing somebody and blowing up their car aren't quite the same, you do less time for blowing up their fancy car. Just like podding somebody and blowing up their ship are two different ballparks.
So... don't pod people if you're worried about your sec status, known murderers would be shot in real life if they just ran around killing people and walked into a police station with a gun.

Originally by: Karlemgne I agree. Personally, I think that either the sec status loss should be reduced, or gain should be increased.
It should be possible to rat your way up to -1.9 from -10 in less than 6 months without going to 0,0.
-K
Why? I'd like to see you get anywhere NEAR +10 from +1.9 in 6 months.
Also, since when has good deeds balanced out with evil ones? If you save a person's life, you don't get to go murder someone else without repercussion.
You could save 100 lives, you'll still get taken down by the fuzz (or CONCORD) for that one cold-blooded murder.

don't apply real world logic to the video game world and maybe it'll make more sense. Even if you did apply rl logic, imagine what the penalty would be for murder, after you take into account cloning.

Originally by: scallen Edited by: scallen on 23/04/2007 22:17:04 Syndicate is well and truely knackerd when it comes to sec increase
I have ratted for 6hrs straight and only received 1 sec gain on occasions this past month
I petitiond got told it was a bug so had to file a bug report.
2 weeks ago that was and still waiting for a reply.
C'mon gm's own up and give us our sec status
YARRRRRRRRRRR
Same problem and response, although not in Syndicate. I've been in Lonetrek/Citidel running missions, killings rats in low sec, etc. and I'm lucky if I get more than 1 sec increase for a 4-6 hours stretch

I was in FREGE alliance for better part of 3 months. They are in the new regions with Drone rats. It would have been nice if they give a sec status increase as well. Even if it's less of a status increase then regular rats. Does anyone else that lives in the new drone regions think that is a good idea?

Sec status is totally BORKed, you kill a ship or pod and BAM, you take the hit. you can kill rats all day long and often times never see a increase until after downtime. And as of late spend an entire day popping npc's getting zero increase. Then the next day rat or mission all day and get maybe 25% of your increases. Stay Chilly & Watch Your Six!

/evil on
remember kids,
pods dont drop loot!!!
only do it if you LOVE the squish sound...(to which there are alternatives to.... *ahem* )
but yeah, if you feel like you are gonna pull your hair out...just think of how long it will take for the BS pilot you just earn back everything he lost to you/blew up...
and blask in that warm and fuzzy feeling...

Originally by: G*****Juice I've always been under the impression that the bigger the rat you kill, the faster your sec status goes up. So, I've been out in this lonely system for I don't know how long, blowing up Serpentis left and right and it just doesn't seem like it's working all that well.
So, just out of curiosity, I check the Security Status tab in my Character Sheet, and lo and behold, I'm not getting credit for a vast majority of my NPC kills!
Is it supposed to be like this? You get smacked for every pod you blow up, but they forget to credit you every time when you kill NPC's?
COS it is OK?
If you have a problem then dont kill people yeah? I don't care if you think its bugged, its you, you are a noob and now you suffer for killing people and go boohoo, why not delete your character and start again if you are so ****ed off. Why should you have an easyer time fixing your sec when I had to grind for 2 weeks 8 hours a day? |
