Mjedesiin, could you please submit a bug report for me? (Press F12 when you are in the game, with a client getting 30 or 15fps). In the title, include my name somewhere, "for CCP Paradox". You don't have to write much in the description etc, I just want the logs that it sends me.
I'm unable to reproduce anymore on my machine here at CCP, I used to be able to but not since we "fixed" it. It seems you're still affected. Let me know ASAP when you submit the report. CCP Paradox | EVE Quality Assurance | Team Super Friends @CCP_Paradox |

What I always missed when I had a less monstrous graphics card was an interval 2 option, in fact I would still use it now if available.
This game if perfectly playable at 30FPS, so why not enjoy a stable frame rate and better nicer rendered frames, versus a wasteful toggle between 30 and 60 FPS due to vsynch being on? Let alone the death to the eardrums on some rigs with vsynch off! |

@CCP Paradox: There is a 'problem' with VSync and Aero which is well known in the video playback scene (doom9.org etc.) - unfortunately I can't find the (quite detailed) documentation on it right now, however, if I remember correctly, it (somewhat-surprisingly) boiled down to a timing code issue and the only way developers managed to get rid of it COMPLETELY is is by switching their code to use some of the NT 6.x exclusive stuff:
Of course, doing so would probably take a LONG time considering EVEs age, but I think it's something you should keep in the back of your mind. :)
If I manage to find the Aero/Vsync documentation I mentioned, I'll post it here. |

Chiming in to report that switching from the Aero theme fixed my multiple-client issues. It was previously unplayable with 2 clients, very heavy stuttering (about 1-3 FPS).
The windows classic theme is hideous but I can deal with it until a fix is made. |

Tried it before. Disabled it in game, then disabled it via NVIDIA control panel, no change.
Anyone know what else is different between aero and basic other than transparency, the hover-over program bar (preview), and the alt-tab window? Maybe each of those could be disabled separately somehow. |

I have reproduced and confirmed the problem after speaking to a player. From the Bug Reports, the similar clue was that people had a second video device listed in their DxDiag. Whether you guys were using a second Nvidia device as a physx processor, or just to plug another monitor into. This is causing the problem, if you unplug a monitor that is connected to the second device. (Whether it is a second PCIE GPU or the GPU found on a CPU (Core i7 etc)) then you will notice that EVE will behave normally, i.e V-Sync will kick in to your monitors true refresh rate. Now we have the information to debug this, we can work on a specific fix. For now, if you have a monitor plugged into a second video device and are wanting to play EVE, you should disconnect it. Hopefully a fix will come as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience, and a special thanks to the one player who persisted and helped me out. This totally worked for me! I had 2 monitors attached to a GeForce 560 and a TV connected to the sandy bridge. One more reason for the girlfriend to hate EVE now, she won't be able to watch Gossip Girl during the fleet ops... |
