I was once told that my ip address was being tracked and that using a trojan he would gather information about where i live then press charges with the local authorities.
Needless to say, i laughed in his face then went to get some pizza!

My answer to him was this, Dude I just killed you with my alt, good luck finding my main. And BTW this alt only has 813k sp. Than I proceeded to leave local

A long long time ago I was in a corp called S U N, they were actually in PAYUS (yes yes yes, I joined SUN, no frikking payus).
Anyways, I sniped some guy at a gate and in return he began sending me sexual harrasment, including telling me he would track me down and *****me using my ip, he then began sending mails containing that other word for vagina repeated to the max character limit god knows how many times, before he went and defaced the payus forum with beastiality pictures.
I do ofcourse have other various death treaths, but I don't think any of them involved having tillers servers bombed with horse sex.
No dead infants ISD, and as long as he coughs up the ransom it stays that way |

Hah.. I've used my contacts to get hold on personal details of people trying to rip me off over the net and I just love the reaction you get from them when you give them a call :)
I would never do that just for being killed in a computer game though, cause it really is just a game..

I've gotten eve mail stating they are finding my IP and tracking me down.
I'm not really afraid of someone driving hours to come find me. But I am curious, are they able to get my IP as they claim?

Of course. You are never anonymous on the net and are very traceable if the person tracking you down knows what he is doing. The IP address however is not enough to get to you personally, he need access to the logs / records from your ISP as well.

Unlikly using only the eve client.
You never directly connect with another player, your communications always go through the eve servers, so (unless the server was transmitting your IP to the other guys client along with game data) there would be no way for him to obtain it.
Most likly it was just scare-tactics from some sad, angry person.
