Yeah those ones are always good. Though one time this person actually did have friends in "high" places, he spent 20 minutes crying in local about how IAC was gonna come get me for that and such. Well, IAC actually did show up with about 8 people, including 3 or 4 battleships, to chase my rifter around 
And by the way, I rule you.

not really a hate mail, but inevitable smack from some fool who blunders into a roaming gang and genuinely believes that it was formed for the sole purposes of ganking his badly fitted, all-t1 kestrel.
i don't normally chitchat in local much, cos it makes the forums look like ******* MENSA, but the ultimately self obsessed t1 pilots and their threats of non-existent main accounts repeatedly owning me until i kill myself irl are usually worth a LOLZ.

Not sure if this counts. Kind of a real life threat. 
Anyways, apparently one of my corp mates (won't say which b/c I am around 4-5 months of age, and he is of 2-3 years of age, and would pod me to oblivion  ) got totally wasted at his local pub and walked home. On the way he saw a guy who seems to have been round 6' 3" -6' 4" (prob exaggerated, but guy was big in any case). He drunkenly walks up to the guy and loudly says "I am going to pod you." He proceeded to get clocked.

I just love empty threats, they're so much fun to call people on. Once had an ore thief target screaming at me in local etc. etc. and claiming "high" connections. I copied all of his smack from local and the EVE mails he sent threatening to call them in and the alliance he was talking about hadn't even accepted them yet. They were currently being reviewed prior to acceptance, needless to say, one of the new requirements was they had to "drop that asshat like a bag of hammers" first. Gotta love Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V.....and maybe just a little editing.

Of course. You are never anonymous on the net and are very traceable if the person tracking you down knows what he is doing. The IP address however is not enough to get to you personally, he need access to the logs / records from your ISP as well.
