Lady Mortus	Posted - 2007.04.29 19:20:00 - [1] I was attacked by 2 pirates Majestic Leev0y and Biodegradable of the Caldari Navy Raiders corp. I asked Majestic to help me (a fairly new player) testing my shields (yes obviously a dumb move) but I asked for help in good faith and never even fought back. My shields were holding fine against Majestic Leev0y so he called in a friend (Biodegradable) to help him They ransomed me for 20 million ISK and I paid quickly and they still blew me up. PLAYERS BEWARE. DO NOT PAY THESE BOYS RANSOM THEY WILL STILL BLOW YOU UP, and for the rest of you pirates that may find this interesting info. Majestic Leev0y was bragging about having 71 billion in ISK in his wallet... just in case you may find the need to ransom him :)

It wasn't like I was trying to be big and bad and duel him or something in high sec I told him from jump that I am not a PVPer and that I just wanted a little help. I am only here to spend time with my husband and he took total advantage of me. Then took all my money and my ship. Only thing I find solice in is that what comes around goes around, and they will get theirs.

On the other hand, in situations like this its just lame. Best is to name and shame the offenders to their respective CEO's if that doesnt help name and shame them on the forums.

For instance, in Veto if you charge a ransom and it's paid and you still pop the pod I'm pretty sure that Verone would likely smite you with divine purpose. Not honoring a ransom is just low. You got your isk, let them be on their way.

And i am not happy AT ALL. i or one of the other Sr officers will get in contact with you ingame rather than airing this on a public forum.

Though those that carry more of a name, and have been around for a longer time, honor ransoms out of their own best interest. OMG has a "dishonor a ransom, get kicked out of corp"-policy. Which also extends to mutually agreed 1v1:s. But true, there are some silly kids out there who won't be around for long enough to make any long-term impact anyways.

It can only have a negative effect on their own fut ure income. Safe to say tho mate that the majority of pirates in eve DO honour their ransoms, and its good to see the corp in question are looking into the matter for you.

I have been contacted quite nicely by the CEO and another member who dealt with the situation quite nicely and I thank you Drider and Brakdue :) now to Majestic. Yes you did offer me a drake with fittings and I told you thats ok I learned a lesson just to give me back my ransom and you laughed and left I demand that if you are gonna be posting here that you paid me back to pony up the pic to show proof otherwise to not try to put me down here to compensate for your short comings. But again to make it clear to everyone the Ceo and other members of this corp appear to be very honorable Thank you both :)

You are, as a player, becoming notorious in that you get renown for taking the ransom and 'podding/destroying" - and so in time, not only do you not get your ransom, all the other pirates are going to pod you over and over again for making their jobs more doubted. Because when you fail to pay, all pirates are affected in that that person (which DO count up) simply wont pay ransoms again. Some people are just plain stupid, and sorry for your loss.

So we warp to a planet as he told he dident wanted to be disturbed.. LOL stupid me I have never PVP or duel so I dont know how to trigger it and ofc I had to loot his can :) Duel starts one of his corp mate warps in to watch the fight. Shields down to 0% and he is asking for a ransom lol? I ignored him and 3-4 more ships warp in and finish me off :/ This was going one in alot of other Systems as I followed them with my alt and Agent seems they where really bored :) Ah well lesson learned Kansaix

Its nice that you think we have such a huge influence over so many people. tbh, you really should read ALL the posts, not just the first one. Underpaying a ransom is an insult, and following that insult with a podding is not dishonourable, but surely, to be expected, and so the original poster should have given all the details, not just the ones that demonise the honest, hard working players that are trying to make isk the hard way, and are not simply doing it by sitting and waiting for the poor roids to belch isk over them.
