Glad you had a good fight like that, NVA/FE... It's what makes alliances worthwhile :D

was the lag as bad last night as it was when we had our last 100+ ship battle in hlw?

Quote: must have been a cool fight. i am just pointing out one minor mistake. this is the second longest fight in eve. Cruse Alliance/Stain Alliance had a massive 30 vs 30 that lasted for over 10 hours. (not constant fighting obviously but still bigger than this). Just a little info :)
The difference been though that this was 1 hours continuous fighting. Ships were engaged all the way through. BTW the hour does not include the time spent gathering forces and having a standoff plus scaring reptar :P
I went through a cargo hold of missiles and had to be resupplied mid battle :)

Edited by: KIAHicks on 04/01/2004 13:24:43 One thing i do wish we had was an evemail everytime your gang scores a kill or your gang losses a ship. It would make it a lot easier to work out who killed who and what both sides lost.
Even with both sides been very honest over losses in this, we're still sketchy on cruisers losses. I know celest lost a lot of cruisers as that was the majority of their fleet, but its kinda hard to find out exact figures :(
I didn't have any lag/fps lag in combat, ran great. Only time I lagged was whilst jumping through the stargate when celest engaged. I spent between 30seconds and a few minutes waiting for the tuning in on space to actually appear. Thank CCP that you appear cloaked :) PS I won't quote what was been said on TS when we thought the stargate had borked up and we'd been made stuck :(
Think this needs a new post on the ideas forum :P Be right back...

the bettle between CA and SA in hlw that involved over 100 ships was i think nearly continouse for about 2 hours. we had ships warping out of one battle straight into another bettle, while badly damages ships were repairing at stations, undocking and warping staight into battle again . I wasnt involved in the first battle but i was in the main "big" battle and 3 other smaller battles of about 40 ships b4 i had to log for bed

The battle last night was 1hr 24 minutes long. And centered around 1 place. The gate was held by them, we warped in, a half hour close range ganking battle ensued. After about 25 minutes, the Bio/EPA forces began to warp in and out, in an attempt to gain a tactical range advantage.
KIA-R were setup for distance and close though, and swapped to distance, sensor damped and target jammed them to death, and caused enough damage to force EPA forces to warp awy and recharge, whilst no real damage was being caused to our forces.
A stalemate ensued, where they were unable to damage us enough, and we were unable to warp scramble them and finsih them off, although we got very close a couple of times. I cant imagine a battle of that size ensuing anywhere else, and have seen no evidence of any.
It was a single battle, based at a single point.
Truly fantastic.

" cant imagine a battle of that size ensuing anywhere else, and have seen no evidence of any."
CA vs CC/SA/EVOL had a 50 vs 50 in HLW in November that lasted several hours (although moving to various different places within system).
The inital part of the battle had a full 100 people in it, missles stopped rendering and crashes were profiligate.
I believe this is longer AND bigger than your battle, but nice try :)

... Maybe you guys should now all jump in one system and have battle over which of those two yesterday's fights was 'the most interesting and longest in EVE'. Should set a new record easily. :s

No-body gives a flying **** about the CA/SA-Evol 100 bs fights, which generally only take place in local chat. Stop trying to steal our thunder or we might be forced to come shut yas up
Anyway... again well done to all the NVA who stayed and fought, was mucho fun

I have to agree, this battle has nothing toi do with the sa/ca thing.
the NVA came in with Superior Numbers we both engaged in the longest battle of this war, No one can take what we had from the NVA or FE.
That battle would prolly have lasted even longer but both sides pretty much ran out of ammo. I know neither side expected to last more than 10 minutes. SA and CA conflict odes have huge battles down there, great more power to ya.
But as far as the NVA and FE is concerned, this was a very special and fun battle, one that was a long long long time in the making.
And im glad that neither side has smack talked on this thread.
As far as losses, well, proportionately lets call it equal. The battle as said is eves version of the battle of Jutland, and for those whom know history will prolly agree.
Out of all im sure last night is a night we will all remember when both sides came together...as a huge juggernaught and pounded each other brutally in a awesome climactic battle and by the close of buisness gained emmense respect for each other.

A battle between SA/CA V FE/NVA should be arranged. To end this dispute and CCP should do its part on reducing lag or setting up a system for this encounter if it is to take place.

I remember when i was in Cornxant for the EVOL/CNX vs TTI/M3G4 up in Venal. That was a long battle, where in the end, no fighting was done. But still; had to pee in a bottle twice because of a standoff, and 3 litres of Dr Pepper :p -------------------------

WHAT, you're laughing? That's one of the best features in EVE. Only beaten by the two messages "something has started trying to target jam something" and "derelict has started trying to warp scramble derelict"

Ya, i dont think anyone will top that one for a long time. Now that really was awesome. and somehow less laggy than last night, the battle that we attemped in fountain but had to abort due to extreme lag and poor client performance. GG though sounded like a good fight Sass Arcane Technologies |

You know what would be fun?
A noobship free-for-all, every pilot for themselves. :)
None of this tournament stuff, but an all-out last-man-standing brawl.
Back to the topic at hand - It sounds like this week had some great battles, and unlike in the past, very honorable ones with few accusations and little smacktalk. It's a trend that I hope continues. ------------ Ezra Cornell pe0n, Xanadu Corporation |

Yeah I agree we need to have a CA/SA/NVA/FE war. Just one big free for all. Or we could always invite CFS. When we all warp to the battle location, instead of start attacking each other, we can sit back and watch CFS start taking out their own ships
Sounds like you guys had fun. Large battles are a blast!
