Nope, if you say move some faction stuff to auction, Id better do it in a tanked BS. Alot of people would sacrifice their even 150mil ship for say like a billion worth item even if it can be destroyed in process.
Moreover, fitting a quick travel setup for small ship thru low-sec is cheap and under 500k isk I would say, just some nanos and maybe wcs. Maybe Tech 1 shield extenders and such.

I don't know T2 shuttles require Spaceship Command 4, it'll be a long train time.

I understand this shuttle tanking thing is a joke, ala templar fight drone, however I have in fact tanked high level complexes with a shuttle. I'm not kidding. http://dl.eve-files.com/media/0702/shuttletanking.jpg

OP: carry valuable stuff in a shuttle by all means, but have a scout. surely a corpmate will be able to make time if it's something expensive?
