BoB Leadership has made a fatal mistake. It occured on the 11th of May 2007 at 06:24 Eve Time.
The unleashing of the BoB forum warriors from their vow of silence will once again fill these forums with their arrogance and vitriolic furvor.
Let the masses decide. But I don't think it's going to work any more SirMolle...

The gag was on to avoid alienating BoB allies with stupid forum antics.
Now, however, everything is thoroughly polarised and it doesn't matter anymore.

Fair enough, but will anyone openly admit that they'd prefer to read posts from people like Queen News over someone from BoB? (/me waits for 1 man COAD Army corp guy to post)

Somebody call me?!?! In all honesty, if BoB released information like MC or many other alliances that don't think everyone else is substandard, I don't think half the game would hate them at all. BoB's biggest problem is basically that on these forums most of them are d***s. We've all seen it, there's no way that's just opinion. And then in the spirit of "well you did it first" of course lots are going to stoop to their level.
If someone does something worthwhile, they'd like the credit due. People don't want their accomplishments spun till their meaningless and they don't want someone condescendingly "tick, tocking" everyone all the time. The single most damaging thing BoB can do to the coalition is to just clean up their image and beat everyone "fair and square". Nobody can say anything to them then, though it'll take awhile to get the forums out of the mode they themselves put them in. I have no problem giving BoB credit for actual hard fought and won accomplishments, but nobody wants to compliment a d***.

I'm not doubt we'll see/have seen some BoB members post offensive sh*te now that the forum ban is lifted but I doubt you could show me any group of comparable size in any game where this isn't true.
As to whether this is a mistake, I don't think so. We're not on a hearts and minds campaign so it really doesn't matter what our enemies think of us and in any case I doubt anything we could say here would change their minds, even if we wanted to try.
What I do know is that it makes the forums a more interesting place when more people post here, so I think it's a good thing.

tbh the forum was a more interesting place WITHOUT (some) bob posting in it.
i know there are some nice guys in bob but the forum behaviour of some of your alliance mates is really annoying sometimes.

There are other groups that are much worse than bob; from a neutral perspective.
BoB smacktalk for two things;
*Personal gratification
*Fights
Other entities smacktalk because they think their opinion matters; and that this is a 'free speach' forum.
Sorry but the tin foil hattery from certain parties about devs in bob exclusively is just insane; and that alone is dragging the forums down.
