A new website for the sole purpose of helping capsuleers find a new home has been created. For the impatient the link is here:
http://www.eve-careers.com.
Details:
For pilots: * You can initially log in via the ingame browser to setup your unique eve-careers account. * Your details can be modified in the website in the out of game browser (such as whether you wish to be recruited, what you are looking for in a corporation). * You can search on the website for corporations that tickle your fancy.
For corporations: * You can initially log in for your personal account, as above, then access your corporations private recruitment policy (if you are a director or personnel manager). * You can modify the policy to set what you are looking for in a pilot, what is special about your corporation. The limit you have in terms of skill points, whether you , etc.
Any questions, please leave a post or send me a message ingame/via the website.
Could this get some glue please? (with a cherry on top ;)) |

Nice idea, but I'd recommend adding both out of game and in game support.
Most of my recruiting time is actually spent out of game here at the Eve forums. When I tried to create an account there, I was told that I could not do so out of game.

Hi,
The ingame registration is primarily to provide a buffer of security. To ensure that players sign up as their actual name (and not as their rivals), and to ensure that only players with the roles to can modify their corporations recruitment policies.
Otherwise there would need to be a password to allow access to it, and that could easily be passed around and create security issues.
I will look into it though :)
Thank you for your input, Knossos. - These words are my own, and are not affiliated with any corporation, alliance or any other organisation

Edited by: Dimitri Forgroth on 15/05/2007 17:01:18 Nice system, just did a test sheet.
Couple of improvements: some special characters get mutilated on the form (I'm => I& # 3 9 ; m) and line breaks are not parsed to add <br /> for clarity. Also some basic BB code would make it possible to make easy to read notices and for corp details. (Only really need list, bold, underline, maybe colour and size).

Hi Knossos,
It seems like a very good idea and I really like the design of the page. Jsut a question. How can I add my corp to the site? I am a director, but I can't seem to find where I can add my crorp. Or is the CEO the only one who can add corporations?
Thanks Scara

Hi, the CEO/Directors/Personnel Managers can change corp recruitment information. But you have to access http://www.eve-careers.com via the ingame browser to do it.
That is to add a layer of security to the system.
http://www.eve-careers.com/igb/corp_policy.php in the ingame browser is the direct link to the page.
--
As for BB code, the website supports , [u], [i] and [url]. Also, line breaks are allowed (my system will remove them for display on the front page, to keep the layout looking correct).
I will look at the codes that appear for you after ampersands, they were added to avoid conflicts.

That is a definate possibility, I have been pondering with the thought.
That is most likely going to be a Soon(tm) feature ;) I'll need to devise a way that only people who are alliance heads could change alliance recruitment policies. However, there is no such role for that.
I will have a look into it anyway! |

Ok,
I signed my corp up and REALLY hope this works. ANY alternative to the recruitment channel has to be worth trying.

Great idea, thanks for creating it! Was wondering if you can change the color of the ingame site? Red on black is hard to read.

Edited by: Tallai Reeca on 30/05/2007 12:54:07 It would be great if corporations could list requirements for specific skills in their details, and pilots likewise could list what skills they have. This would allow for matching corporations against pilots based on actual skills. For example, if I could list the skill Cloaking devices as a requirement for application in my corporation, and match this against registered pilots looking for employment, to see only those who have this skill. The min SP requirement feature is a bit too vague.
