I know a guy with 38 extra accounts, none of which he plays, solely ghost training to extract and sell skills.
Is this how skill extractors were intended to be used?
I thought skill extractors were supposed to be used by people who wanted to specialize or gain isk, so they would extract skills from an area they no longer do (mining, boosting, scanning, exploration, etc.)
but 90%+ (no, I don't have a stat to back this up, but we all know it) of skill injectors come from characters that likely see less than 3-4 hours of playtime a month.

Welcome to EVE where players get creative and do unintended action with certain mechanics (see Jetcan mining)

Skill injector/extractors were integrated in to the game for one reason.
They're much more profitable for CCP compared to the measly $20 CCP was making from character transfers.

I know a guy who posts questions on the forums about a topic that LIT UP THE BOARDS ALL DAY AND WAS ANSWERED BY A DEV HOURS AGO.

I know a guy who built up a nice gaming rig..
it includes a fan, mini-frig, microwave, and toilet.. he also has 36 screens with a closet serving as the server room.. he has no life except for eve... he gets absolutely no ever... so this is what he does...
with his alts he farms sp and sells it over the market... now should I complain about what he does and why he does it.. no... but I do complain about him not having anything else to do outside eve online.. occasionally I troll him asking has even seen a naked girl.. ( he did reply he hasn't since ccp removed the IGB).. but hey.. what ever floats your boat.
Farm on,

Yeah, I think CCP has realized that they have hit a wall with the recruitment of new players where essentially the player base they have is all they are really going to get when it comes to true revenue.
So they are pulling out all the stops and all the features that they teased 10 years ago to keep the vets interested are starting to make their way into the game, like pirate capitals and supers and such. It always seemed those were last ditch things to implement when they ran out of development ideas.
I expect the Jove to be a playable race not too long from now, or maybe the Eve Gate reopening... "The Terran's have experienced a dark age that has lasted thousands upon thousands of years, now you can steal their stuff as well" |

I am always up for new things, I've been playing the game 10 years and hope to play it another 10.
What I don't like is others gaming an already possibly broken (soft pay2win) mechanic.
I think there should be a set amount of skill injectors you can inject per year.
Im fine with skill injectors since eve takes so much skill that just having the ability to fly a 'good' ship doesn't mean you will do well in it. But being able to just load up on all armor comp/shield comp 5 skills is... ya know... not fair for 'poorer' players. |
