Tread abaut ships that u love and the names u give em 
Tempest: ship that i love(when i finaly get it) and name it : Agamemnon ( yes.. too much B5.. but hay, Earth alliance Destroyers doo look like minmatar ships)
Typhoon:i got no typhoon yet.. and there will be long time before i get one but the name for one is long since desidet: S.S. SugarDaddy

I have an Atron frigate that I use for agent missions that I named: Tiny Little $h1t, because well, just look at it's size ingame Lol.
and I also have a bestower with the name: Guild Navigator, which I named after the spicing guild navigators from the movie DUNE, they just reminded me of those huge tanks that the navigators sit in. 
Edit: I'm not creative with ship names as you can tell, but these two are the only ones I have named Lol.

Oh, this was about ships  ahem.
I often use star trek names for my ships, such as defiant (caldari cruisers), prometheus (caldari battleship), rhode island (my old gallente ships, thorax/megathron).

since the back-end of the ship looks like one of those old pirate ships ... it even has a Crownest !!! ( prolly some antennas with a light, but it looks like one :D )

My ships are named in the order I get them.
IE, voogru - 0001, voogru - 0002, etc. Boring but hey at least I know how many ships I have owned/blown up, etc.
I'm currently at "voogru - 0019".

... I generally pick names for my Kestrels so they remind me what dumb mistake i made that led to losing the previous vessel.
The ones i can recall were:
* From Amarr with Love (my missile hit the Amarr jumpgate after original target was destroyed, sentries didn't like it)
* Keep Safe Distance (splash damage)
* Left in Venal (KSD is alive and well, but gathering dust in.. guessed it, Venal)
* Too Slow for Warp (fumbled on undock, got ganked by a camping Tempest)
* Guristas Fodder (ship lost to n00bie gate rats while i was twiddling thumbs, thinking i got stuck in jump)
And then there's also:
* Once Smoked, now Shy (Badger 2, ex property of Smoked of ex m3g4)
* Darwin Cubed (Blackbird)

I think yer ship should show its name rather than yours when someone highlights it. Whats more Famous, the Bismark or its Commander (i don't know what his name was)
My ship names, (i am a Big Ian M. Banks Fan)
Raven = Attitude Adjuster
Scorpion = Sleeper Service
Moa = Kiss the Blade
Omen = Xenophobe
Punisher = Thunderbolt
Merlin = Useless
Bestower = Big Momma
But by far the best name i have heard was a corp mates...

Great topic here, and i've seen some very interesting/funny names, but i haven't seen any like mine yet: ½Ñ+ (Dominix). Does anybody else use extended/upper ASCII in shipnames?

My bestower is 'Big Daddy'. Other 10 ships are just generic, I was just to lazy to give them names I guess.

Most of the time i call my stowers -asteroid-
Then i stand bout 1k km off an asteroid belt and laugh at the gate campers trying to find me in system using their scanners.
I used also forsaken can and sentry gun, i guess next time i'll call my ship amarr navy or suthing along those lines...
