Recent allegations involving a GM gag, gladstone gander and Miz Cenuij

CCP Arkanon	Posted - 2007.05.21 16:44:00 - [1] Hello everyone. We've looked into this matter, here's what we found: GM Icini did gag gladstone gander with an entirely improper message, that could easily be taken to imply his personal involvement in the matter. The GM has been reprimanded and this will hopefully not repeat itself. Why he did this, I don't know, since I have not yet had an answer from him. It's clear, however, that he is neither Miz Cenuij, nor Ginger Magician, nor does he appear to be affiliated with them ingame. So, there does not appear to be anything more sinister going on here than improper conduct towards a player. That in itself is not something we condone and on behalf of CCP, I apologize to gladstone gander, Miz Cenuij and anyone else affected by this matter. All the best, CCP Arkanon

lorddlo25 g guild	Posted - 2007.05.21 16:52:00 - [9] the thing is it was not just gladstone gander that was gagged it was near on 75% of our corp that was gagged that was on at the time IE : our CEO klear / nimir / gladstone gander was all gagged not just one person how can you come up with this after only 30 - 60 min's after the event yet for a petition it can take week's ?

(I could not find ANYTHING). It seems that, since this morning, the interest in debating the legality of some of CCP's way of managing this service called eve online .. has grown.

However the message sent to Gladstone by the GM was clearly highly inappropriate and almost sounded like something Miz himself would say.However Gladstone and his ceo said some very nasty stuff to me in local and he deserved his gag which was too short imo. Were these gags for no reason? Regardless of the message gladstone got, the gag itself was not without reason. Unless there was something inappropriate about the gags, I see no reason to investigate it. If there was, please petition the matter and we'll look into it. CCP Arkanon

Might I suggest editing Wrangler's closing post in the other thread (and the closing post in the CAOD thread) to link here? From a standpoint of information security, if one were to believe a given GM, or even a whole (unknown) set of GM's, are somehow "tainted"--is there a method to contact you directly, or to demand in the petition that you respond, such that we know you've seen it and it isn't being suppressed by the GM(s) in question? For instance, could a GM theoretically impersonate you, and thus it'd be best to contact you via email, phone (!), or some other method? Thank you again for your prompt attention to this issue. I look forward to finding out why GM Icini used that wording to issue the gag--that's the only part of this whole thing that doesn't sit right with me at the moment. --P

The question was addressed to CCP and the GM gagging the 3 of us for that small period of time, although suspicious is of very little interest, since it is just one of the very many other suspicious CCP overlookings (providing they are just overlooked mistakes .. rather then deliberate acts).

There is a way to contact CCP Internal Affairs directly, but remember that we only deal with issues regarding abuse of power or other staff related matters. We do not overturn petition replies, that is up to Senior GMs to decide.
