Fireworks in umokka.....what fireworks?

Only to be there and when the population reached about 1200, everything lagged to the point where u couldn't even warp out, and when that miricle did finally happen, u found urself at the only gate in the system, again waiting to get the hell out ;) If there are really 26,000 players, I can only imagin if we were all in the same system at the same time, time dialation or not....I can only imagine what that would bring. And so much for offering the chance to win anything......couldn't fly, let alone win anything. Is this a sample of what the rest of the new year will bring to EvE?

Not sure if I missed the display or perhaps there wasn't one at all, but there was certainly a lot of smartbombing going on. Did anyone actually see a fireworks display?

It took me a 30 seconds to jump into Umokka, 2 minutes and 30 seconds to warp to Umokka X - Moon 4 - Caldari Navy Testing Facilities and 10 seconds to crash. Being an idiot I tried to a second time. 5 minutes to log in and 20 seconds to crash. Fantastic fireworks but with CCP, what do you expect? Out of curiosity, how did the prizes and raffle work? Did you have to be listening to NER as I tried but my connection was rejected or something. Only reason I went out there.

The server was soon filled up but a secondary one was linked in both local and NER's public channel as well as on their website here. Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend the event but I was around just before hand with the system reaching 1400 people. Good job NER team!

DJ Daggaroth New Eden Radio 0	Posted - 2012.01.01 06:15:00 - [23] - Quote I really did not think so many people were going to show up, last year it was advertised and we had 600 people show up and it was a bit laggy but no crashes. this year 1800 people showed up and blew my mind and we crashed the server node which was not what i expected but the fireworks still continued and we had a good time. the winners of the raffle are listed here http://forums.newedenradio.com/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=616 and I apologize to those who wernt able to participate because the server crashed and/or they could not connect to the server.

Admittedly, I started logging on about 1 min before midnight, and when I eventually undocked at a nearby station, all my damn modules were offlined! Kinda expected Daggaroth to have filed one of those fleet-action report things to get the node reinforced, even if he only expected 500 But, the music was good, and I managed to get on prob. 30-60 seconds before he did - all in all, something worth experiencing at least once. The youtube vids showed a bit more in the first few minutes than what I saw, but I didn't miss much action. Perhaps a little more capacity-planning need for next year. Thanks for the show, Daggaroth, and to everyone else there for an abundant supply of trash-talk in local. No thanks to Concord, though, for bloody decloaking me all the time. My container is NOT imploding! It's just a bit upset that it only sees cheap crap.
