The key to this argument was hit upon once already.
It's all in the risk vs. reward. Of all the minerals, the problem lies in the nocx. What was once the benefit to mining in low-sec? It was the first place where one could mine the nocx heavy ores. Zydrine is cheap, yes, but if you look at the natural distribution of prices, it's really where it should be. Nocx, however, is at 70% of what I believe (stemming from now nine months of mineral market data gathering) to be it's 'natural' market value. If you were to plot the mineral price averages on a curve, nocx should be up at around 240-260 p/u.
Not that I do it any more, but there simply is no reward for the risk of mining in low-sec.

No it wouldnt, the low ends wouldnt be worth shipping to empire as its simply too bulky. Hence theyre either stored or used inside the drone regions.
He means if massive amounts of low end m3 are packed into tiny rogue drone drops m3. People would just move the raw drone drops to empire and then refine.
So he then says you would have to make rogue drone drops much larger m3 if they contain a lot of low ends and then people would just stop looting them.
IMO CCP needs to just admit rogue drones are a bad idea and make them similar to other NPCs in every region. Shooting NPC's shouldn't replace a very well developed and balanced profession such as mining. Yes, I'm defending mining.
Afaik the compression ratio on drone minerals wouldn't be all that great, so transporting the compounds themselves to empire for refining wouldnt be worth the effort. I'm all in favour of reducing loot drops and adding bounties though.
