Originally by: Iuris Proeliator Regardless of the results, here's the problems CCP needs to address:
A) In the other accusation, there were petitions deleted without a response. There should have been a response of "This is under investigation. Please await further results."
B) CCP promotes that RP organizations influence the future of the game, but then admits to guiding the storyline.
While I'm not against that entirely, as it's basically the position of DM within a game, you need to be up front about that. There should be no illusions. "You guys have a large effect on the direction/outcome of the storyline, but we reserve the right to stack things a bit if we feel that it's the best way for the storyline to go."
This is a reality ANY RP'er knows about and should be aware of. The DM is god, and directs their path. They choose how to go about it.
In other words, CCP, be up front from the beginning. Deleting petitions and half-contradictory statements just make people distrust you more.
You also have NOT addressed BoB's comments about having that kind of intimate Dev contact directly. At the very least, any player who's throwing around statements suggesting that they have a Dev "on call" should be disciplined by CCP. Even if it's not what the allegations hold, those kinds of statements are disruptive to the overall community and can cause a LOT of damage.
It has not been proven the petition was deleted, so lets no spread rumors around alright? _________________________

Quote: Our company gets audited on more than just accounting procedures. Also how we handle standard procedures and who has access to what. I'm sure that Dev's breaking their own EULA would cause red flags to go up by 3rd party auditors if it was caught.
Of course that is entirely subjective based on what country the company is located in... but generally publicly held companies fall under quite a bit of scrutiny.
They are breaking a EULA they wrote, all they would have to do is change the EULA, or ignore the suggestions of a 3rd party Auditor. Since this 3rd party auditor would be paid by them, CCP would control if they wanted the end results to be public in a contract, and if the contract would was broken by making the information public the 3rd party would not be paid.
So lets say all that happen, you really think a 3rd party would risk their own living and reputation to make the truth known to a bunch of players of CCP's online game?
Your suggestion lets face it, is laughable because the only thing that would come from it, is what CCP wanted to make known.
I am of course not saying CCP is in the wrong, infact as facts are being presented seems there is alot of fault within the playerbase and facts which have not been shared. But in the end CCP has complete control with its product, and one must face that fact, and just have playing the game.
In the end the money I have put into playing this game has resulted in alot more fun, then anything else I have played recently besides my Nintendo Wii.
** Pointless promotion for the Wii for the Wiin
