Edited by: Apocalytica Insomnia on 28/05/2007 00:16:43 Edited by: Apocalytica Insomnia on 28/05/2007 00:16:23 As far I am aware, GUARD / The Pentagramm is fighting against Invictus / Frege / RusA / Project Enthrophy and IRON since a few days.
Since days the "ships destroyed in past 24hrs" counter in 8-2JZA never felt under 55 ships. Also, the Guard / The Pentagramm KB's do not match with IVC killboard (IVC is missing a lot of losses) and it seems like, they are fighting hard.
GUARD is known as loyal pro Northern alliance. They showed up when a threat came up, are they now getting powned by their "friends"? Anyone know more?

To provide a more accurate view you can also view kills/losses on the frege billboards. http://j-op.tickyticky.net/killboard/
Also to show sovereignty changes please compare. This Map (Pre-War)

Also, Pentagram & Four Elements have been helping guard as well if you wish to add those kill stats to any comparisons.

Looks like plenty of kills happening there atm, and yes, both sides appear to be mising killmails... perhaps if they both used the feed syndication properly along with others then an accurate picture could be formed.
From intel I have received, Guard and buddies are losing at this point, but are bringing the fight with gusto. No one I asked seems to know what the pew pew is actually over though.
No smack reported as yet. |

There is fighting. Things are exploding.
Invictus decided they need a little more space, in a "nice region, we'll take it" kind of way. The others help them achieve that, although I don't know what the other alliances goal is. Apart from the pewpew.
That's about it.

I just came back to eve after 7 month not playing. Just in the right time to find old friends and us in war. I am very disappointed about that and i don¦t really understand the reasons yet. I remember times when I fought together with FREGE (which was one of our first "friends" in Alparena for example) and also with IRON in Deklein. Think that was a good time and I really dont understand what happened now. But it seems that everything in EVE changes so far. It is very hard to find loyal friends that wont change sides for some isk. Even D2, which were "good friends" of GUARD do now play on the other side. Not attacking us, but others who might have helped us in that war.
It¦s really a shame to see things like that. But how does it say in a commercial ? "It seperates the boys from the men." I can only hope that there are enough "men" left in eve, that stay to their words and think the same way, we do.

So to make you "understand" a bit more then just what Invictus is telling people, this war is NOT a question of how much space GUARD had. It is a question of Invictus betraying the MAD PACT as they decided with less then the half alliances that are in the PACT to kick GUARD out and start a war. More then half of the alliances didnt even know that there is a vote.

We'll fight until our last ship goes down. And well invictus started this war and at least without support they wouldn't have shot down even one of our outpost towers. Invictus stated that they need more space to grow (sorry but if you know about history...). Anyway they gathered allies and now we have this nice and really fun war going on. Of course we can't stand against: Invictus, Frege, Iron, Event Horizon, Volition Cult and Rule of Three, but they have challanged us, we will accept the challenge and fight until death for glory. If they want my assets, they'll first have to shoot me down. In the end i can say that others up there should really think about their "friends" cause they'll probably get backstabbed, too. So in the end we probably have lost our space, but not our pride and we had a lot of fun and i hope the other involved parties had, too, also invictus removed the campaign after dropping under 20% effect and stopped posting "some" of their loses. So far thanks for the fight and i'm looking forward for the final battle :) Best regards, Nathalya
ps: Seems that "good" weather for the drone regions is going to come, the sky is getting blue up there...

Its strange how GUARD pilots and The Pentagram pilots seem to be a little in the dark as to the reasons behind this conflict.
Its not my place to go to much into details. But GUARD brought this on themselves, and there head diplomat did very little to resolve small issues leading up to this. Instead being arogant, showing a lack of respect and trying to bully almost, local alliances they had blue standings with.
Looking back over the logs, its almost as if the GUARD head diplomat wanted a conflict?!?
Originally by: kill0rbunny Invictus decided they need a little more space, in a "nice region, we'll take it" kind of way. The others help them achieve that, although I don't know what the other alliances goal is. Apart from the pewpew.
Um, I am pretty sure this was not Invictus's main reason. In the short time I have flown with Invictus pilots, I have learned much, and gained much respect for both Invictus's leadership and pilots.
Originally by: Nathalya And well invictus started this war and at least without support they wouldn't have shot down even one of our outpost towers.
Invictus did not start this war. The war could have been diverted if GUARD had simply shown a little respect and talked weeks ago.

There is definitely a war on. I was transferring some high value items through the drone regions in my trusty Serapis, a craft of the Cheetah class, and came upon a scene of carnage on a gate. Wrecks, hundreds of them, within a 100 kilometer radius. I enabled biomass scanning for my pod's integrated HUD, and saw literally dozens of corpses sucking vacuum, a veritable minefield threatening the integrity of my cloak. I left with much haste. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1. Let me first say the fighting on both side has been fun and nicely done. Both sides have stayed away from the smack talk and badgering in local. My hats off to all the pilots involved in this conflict. You have been fighting with honor and integrity. As for the K/D and kill boards not being correct all i can say is in the end things will be sorted out.
2. As for the reason why it boils down to a disagreement period. The diplomats on both sides worked hard to resolve the issues at hand with in the deadline set by the leadership. The hours spent working towards a peacful settlement have been unmatch in eve in a long time. Keeping the pack together was at the for front.
3. As with any war when communication breaks down you must prepare for the worse. In a game that has pilots with ships that shoot we all know what will happen if a peacful settlement cant not be found.
4. Well GUARD on its terms decided to move away from the MAD agreement. Alot of us were sadden by this but we understood the impotance of preserving the union of friends we have out here. To the pilots in GUARD I just wanted you to know that this was over your alliance abusing the mad pack and trying to extort 8 billion isk from another alliance in the pact. You are fighting cause your leaderhsip thought it better to leverage your isk and ships for 1 small unarmed POS and a system grab that they had no right to in the first place.
5. As for Pentagram I was there the night this all got started and as a member of MAD who was choosing not to enforce the agreement all we ask was for your pilots to leave 8-2 and not to get involved. Your piltos did not leave the area and choose to be at every gate and watch the fight from the GUARD side. We again ask you to leave the area. I will state that no Pentagram pilot engaged in any fighting that night for either side. It was not until the following day that you decided to choose sides. Not sure why you selected the side that was in violation of the pact but that was your choice to make. The Pact never intended to fire appon you but when you are around a large fleet battle sometimes things are not clear cut on what to shoot. You have choosen to side with Guard and we will respect you as an enemy as much as we respected you as a friend.
6. To all those on the outside looking in this is what eve is all about. Each side believes they are in the right and have step up to fight for there position. After this is over may both sides walk away with there integrity, honor intact and a smile on your face . See you on the battle field my old friends.

some correction to the comment above:
1. GUARD has been removed from the MAD pact via alliance vote (only 4 alliances were attenting the meeting, 3 voted for kicking), after that the war has been declared by IVC only. FREGE, Rule of Three, Project Entropy, Iron, The Volition Cult, Rona Alliance, Endless Horizon and afaik KaTet jumped on the bandwaggon. Anyone missing?? 2. First aggression against THE-P done by FREGE/IVC: http://80.146.165.83/pentagram/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=935
but lets keep the smack down and have a great time up there ;)

Edited by: DNSBLACK on 29/05/2007 19:45:27 1. To all Pent members again I have to wonder about your leadership risking so much for just one vexor. Iam sure that 90% of all pilots in the drones space at one time have come under blue vs blue friendly fire and have worked it out. Mistakes happen and we all know eve is buggy at times.
2. I have first hand knowledge that your pilots prior to this vexor being blown up were assiting guard by moving equipment for them cause they knew we would not fire on them. We were told to ask your pilots to leave the area and not to come back but they choose to remain and assit Guard while they were blue to us. We ask nicly again for all P to leave the area or risk being apart of this conflict. You chose to continue to use you blue standing to assit GUARD with intel and the moving of enemy equipment. By not leaving the area and by offering aid to the enemy you selected sides in this fight. It was your actions that drew you into this not one vexor kill. I hope that your P pilots understand this.
3. As for the bandwagon I must disagree with you. That wagon has had the same passangers on it from the start and at one time P and GUARD had a seat. It was action on your parts that have brought this fight to bare against you. No one alliance can be pointed out as the reason for this fight on the PACT side. I just hope your pilots understand that it was the GUARD and P leadership who has put them in this postion. May you fight and die with honor my friends see you on the battle field.

In every conflict, there are always several possible views. You will believe what you want to belive. Back-stabbing or diplomatic fault ? It's not important because it's over now. If you really interested in history try to discover it by yourself, dig up logs, convo diplomats etc. Just do not repeat concepts, unproofed facts..this makes it only worse. Don't act like robot stacked in a infinite loop. So much for that.
As for the fighting, I'm back from a 6 day campaign. 4-5h sleep every day. Homedefense. My eyes are still red :) Morale was very high til final battle when technical problems - disconnects, lag, I'm sure all of you know the pain - transfered defender fleet to ashes. Ivc+friends, thank you for jumping with your capitals toward our BS fleet..I've never seen a MS ship before :) It was real fun, so big thanks to all participating pilots, scouts, snipers, support, fc's , literaly every flying object in 8-2 and area ! greetings

In the past days of home defense I have had some of the best moment in my EVE life. Thank you for that, mad pact, although I still don't understand the reasons for you attacking GUARD. Many thanks to our last allies, too! I feel sorry that you will be kicked out now, too.
On another note: I still wonder where the "GUARD" campaign in the IVC killboard went after the first engagements. The "Defense" campaign in the GUARD kb is still there, and you can clearly see the loss of the war in the ship losses over the last three days. I hope this lost war will not overshadow the great battles won before, neither in your not in my mind. ---- *Please paste generic Szun Tzu quote of your choice here* |

To GUARD: I truly feel for you guys, most of us, at least in IXC know what its like to lose a home. But its the way things go. Nothing remains the same forever in EVE. At some point, we'll be the losers, and some new alliance will move in. Just remember, its never the end. There's plenty of space out there, take the oppurtunity to have some fun away from POSs, enjoy EVE.
As to why we did this, our kb accuracies, etc. I'm not going to get into it. But if I ever figure out who in IVC isn't posting his losses, he'll get to have a little chat with me and prlly a lot more people.

As far as I am aware, the campaign was deleted as it had been created prior to some political based timer passing away, and thus was a pre-emptive move that SHOULDN'T have been made when it was.

Just wanted to correct you, we had Frege pilots on 23/7...I was very active in the sniper fleet *Snip* OOC - Timmeh(as were many Frege pilots), which is when the funnest fights were going on. The last big fleet engagement was awesome! *Snip* OOC - Timmeh, but the there was 20 minutes of pure pew-pew.
The leadership of each alliance knows the true story why the war happened. I know I spoke with multiple Pentragram pilots and diplo's, we offered them a way out, they chose to stand by their friends (something I fully respect). Pew Pew on a very large scale occurred.
Much respect to those who stayed and fought and kept things smack free, and to those crazy *Snip* OOC - Timmehwho stayed up all night and shared a few laughs with the *Snip* OOC - Timmeh pilots in local (at some points it would be 100+ on our side, 3 on theirs!!).
It was also an honor to fly with IVC pilots, we had alot of laughs and strengthend the bonds of friendship between our alliances. Nothing is better for friends than sharing a battle-ground.

Not really sure why fighting in a hostile universe requires any particular justification or explanation to the peanut gallery. As long as actions are taken for what we and our allies considered good reasons, then victory speaks for itself. Arguing with the peanut gallery over said justifications is usually a waste of time, as they'll already have formed their own opinions, and we're unlikely to change those.

Politics are a strong present and interesting part of the EvE Universe, if everyone would only make actions and no discussions about it, we all would only have half of the fun ;)

I finally found the flame thread
Nah serious. It was a really cool week of fighting and i respect both fronts for keeping local clear of smacktalk. *snip* OOC -Rauth Unfortunatly we eventually had to realise that we couldnt win this fight, especaially after FREGE and IVC rocked up with appr. 20 capitalships and about 70 support. *snip* OOC -Rauth
Id like to make a toast to our only true friends The-P for standing side by side with us all the way. ******************************

I feel sorry for you Nicodemos.
From the conversations I had with you it is obvious that you and your alliance were abusing of the "first tower to claim" system. I never thought things would go this far though.
From my experience in the drone regions you have been arrogant and agressive. I'll pass on the blackmailing, there is no need to detail this.
It's obvious that Invictus wasn't looking for more space, simply to remove a very annoying neighbour.
Doesn't mean I like Invictus. I'm just merely stating facts here. To be honest, and I'm sorry to say this, you really got what you deserved.

IF this was all about an extortion, how come that as initiator, not the Invictus Alliance is holding the station, nor the ones that where supposeded to be extorted (Volition Cult).
How come that it smells a little bit fishy, seeing that the space is claimed by Invictus, including 8-2. But the 8-2 station is claimed by Iron, without beeing really involved in the fight (KB's), who gave up quite fast on their own home, and that their former, and now splintered friends from D2 are attacking those that have not been present on voting the Guard Alliance out of the Mad-pact.
ooc: Reminds me of the Series "Jericho", where the now homeless onces are running towards the south as the winter tries to catch up with em, after a series of nuclear attacks, braught down the infastructure of the US. (check http://imdb.com/title/tt0805663/ for reference)

At least we know now, which alliances are trustable and which are not.
Iron, D2 and the MAD Pact are clearly not on that list.

At least we know now which alliances abuse agreements between allies until they get kicked. If you are that naive that you still believe your leaderships fairy tales about mean backstabbs, then it's your problem. The guard diplomat had months to solve it in a diplomatic way.

I lol'd So you think making a decision about a pact involving 4 out of the 10 member alliances is democratic.
We'll do as you please, iron has it's hideout now, the goal should be reached, no more need for forum war. We took our conclusions, what your leaders made you believe is not relevant to us.

Nice to hear this btw from someone who tried to deal around with others space. Remember 9F-ERQ which you have given to Invictus some ago, and which you can't remember as Virt and I talked to you why you did not tell anything about to us. But well, you can tell in Forums what ever you like. Try to deal with your own things next time. There was a reason why Apocalyptica left the constellation they where settled in. The simple reasons was that Apocalyptica caused a lot of issues and at some point you guys brought things really to a boiling point.
How I already told you, say something, stay on it, and keep on your promises. Don't tell **** like you had in this posting.
To Violation Cult. There where agreements. I am not really suprised to see you guys ignore them. But it was nice work to go that close to our neighbours and begging around for them to declare war on us. (This accordingly to the 3rd last reason we got told about the "why we are declaring war"). If you not, just another given reason which was to hide the simple truth. Invictus wanted to get us out, startet a campain and formed up a grid of intrigues. How I already said, well done Virt, was good work. As this was my first 0.0 experience as Alliance leader, I will be prepared on things like this next time hopefully. But be aware, you might have started something which you won't be able to handel in future. That it was not personally, I can see in the point that you have started to agress now them, which have not helped, because of "we are trying to stay neutral and hope not to be the next"-Politics. What if you guys have sorted the single not-IVC-Friendly alliances, too? Will you start to kick DMC, Oxide and the others out? I will watch the map for the next time, and in our alliance, I will start a bet on "who will be next...." :)
Stay tuned :) GUARD Alliance |

So much to the given Word from MAD Pact that TheP could have stayed if they had not helped guard if you now agress the rest there. I guess this says all about trusting IVC's and FREGE's words

Alot of people with lots to say who don't know what happened. Frege was 100% upfront and honest about all of its actions and dealings. War could easily have been avoided...say what you will about Frege, we wont be asking our neighbours for 8 billion isk for space we don't own...

Which we agreed to. GUARD broke their own rules whilst expecting VOLT to honour them. At the time hostilities broke out, I had been waiting more than two weeks for an official response to my evemail to you on that matter. Instead of further discussion, you simply attempted to extort isk from us for space that, by GUARD's own rules, we already considered 'ours' - yet were willing to share with you.

You can't state that VOLT aren't 'official' MAD members (as if that vindicates your actions toward a blue neighbour), then suggest we have enough political power over MAD to turn your former allies against you. They had already made up their own minds - by the time we contacted them about our concerns, events were already in motion.

Don't accuse people of intrigues, then attempt some tinfoil-hat shenanigans of your own. I can't speak for FREGE, Invictus or others, but if GUARD had simply maintained proper, open diplomatic contact with their allies then maybe this chain of events would not have happened.

Seems IVC is against Stella Polar now... But hey, there is no fighting for more Space they must be ***holes too... Hope you doesn't have to delete the Campain in your Killboard again cause of bad K/D-ratio. My advice: tell everyone the reason is that SP would use their space as hideout for ex-D2 allies and and give it to iron after you won.

Said the whining member of... Caldari noob corp is it? I wasn't aware we needed a reason to shoot someone red to us, who sends raiders into our space? Do they also have to insult our mom or something before we're allowed to shoot them? Or do we need a plebiscite of the peanut gallery before initiating hostilities?
As I've said before arguing with entitlement mentality jagoffs here is semi pointless. They either get it or they don't.
