Edited by: NiiKleagh on 29/05/2007 09:49:30 Why are 180mm T2 AC's over 1200 kg heavier in mass than a 220mm T2 AC?
/me wonders if this actually penalizes the ship's speed or agility.

omg, what a horrible little fact... well, the penalty is VERY minor, like "having a extra passenger onboard your car minor"
It's great being Amarr isn't it.

afaik the mass of the modules doesn't matter, they aren't added to the ships mass. The ship has a set mass and that's what counts when accelerating/aligning etc

Edited by: Aramendel on 29/05/2007 09:59:13 Cause they are dual180mm ones.
Yes, yes, I am kidding. But it does make some sense from a logic point of view. Not by that amount though - a 220mm weights 12 kg and a dual 180mm 1250 kg, And a 425mm 8 kg...right.
Even if it isn't simply a typo it shouldn't have an real effect, though. A vagas base weight is 10.000.000 kg. So using 5 dual 180mm would increase your weight by a whooping 0.05%.
Originally by: Dristra well, the penalty is VERY minor, like "having a extra passenger onboard your car minor"
Thats actually rather exaggerating it. It's more like ""having a extra matchstick onboard your car minor"

Edited by: NiiKleagh on 29/05/2007 10:09:56 Thanks guys.
If we're sure the mass of the modules don't matter, then why does CCP even bother with listing the mass of the modules?
I realize it's small, but I feel I've been nerfed, so I have to complain as per forum war rules.

God, get a grip. There is something you could call a slight nerf and then there is THAT. Let me repeat, 0.05% more weight. Thats freaking nothing. Even if it isn't just a typo or even does add to the ships weight at all.
If you call that a "nerf" you are also suing someone who stepped on your foot for 10 million $ because of a physical attack?

And also as I said I very much doubt module mass even is added in the calculations. It's just there as useless info like 50% of the other stats.

It would be cool though if they got all the mods masses up to a reasonable amount and counted everything fitted and in your hold towards total mass and therefor acceleration.
