Ivan Hablovi Minmatar Financial Removal	Posted - 2007.05.30 01:58:00 - [1] About the Accusations and Accusers Since last Friday, an unnamed corporation (Wonder which this corporation might be) posted over 4000 times on EVE's message boards concerning these allegations. In addition, 1046 posts were made on Digg.com; 235 comments were added on Slashdot; and made multiple EVE-related edits on Wikipedia. Each of these sites was hit within a few hours of each other, at the start of the three-day Memorial Day weekend in the US and a three-day weekend in Iceland, all referencing unfounded allegations ù now proven to be false ù that occurred three weeks ago or longer. The volume and timing of these near-simultaneous references is no coincidence: we were the target of a carefully constructed and well-timed social engineering effort by one of the largest player groups in our community. The intention? To undermine EVE Online and the credibility of CCP Games. More specifically, the objective of this scheme was to permanently paint CCP as a biased and corrupt company that favors a select group of players over the rest of our community. In this particular case, instead of receiving notification of a possible problem and sufficient time to examine and address it, we faced a coordinated and hostile attack executed on our forums, Digg, Wikipedia, Slashdot, and other outlets at the beginning of a three-day weekend. We believe this speaks volumes of the intention of the person(s) responsible for orchestrating this scheme. Verification of this can be readily found on the forums of the people responsibleùor at least could, the last time we looked. Claims that the goal of this effort was to expose corruption within the company cannot be taken seriously. They are simply a smokescreen intended to mobilize and use the EVE community against CCP. There is no evidence to support the claim of information sent to CCP concerning internal corruption and wrongdoings on the part of our employees is being systematically suppressed. The fact that this attack took place over a holiday weekend was especially revealing of motive, which we believe was specifically by design to ensure that CCP would not be able to react as fast and efficiently as we would under normal circumstances. The allegations investigated above by this internal affairs department will also be examined by our legal resources, as we do not intend to sit idly by while our servers, community and reputation are under attack. ----- All of this can be read from Dev Blog, wanted to place it here since I thought that this Forum has had the most effect on the whole ordeal, and it was aimed towards the Alliances and Corporations which do try to populate EVE as it is.

You couldn't be more wrong about the "Goon Alt". Also, I feel that the player group and the corporation are essentially one in the same since they represent each other, so I use them interchangeably.

It was tremendous fun trying to do freighter ops out of empire with a pack or ravenous goons snapping on your heels. They were then in the game to have fun and in doing created fun for those around them. But then Remedial followed by Mittani thought that they could and should have some control over the Eve enviroment. They thought they were much more then they are. Remedial begging for money "cause mommy threw me out" from goons to help pay his rent and raising 2500 usd in a day from these goons followed by "I wanna ruin eve cause no one likes me" Mittani have completely ruined what the goonswarm grew out of and what they once stood for. Those 2 children are the cancer that will prove to have killed the swarm. Once a senior goon FC overthrows the shackles of these 2 bad apples then the goons may return to having fun. Some people are not cut out to owning allainces, The Goons by their very nature are one of these groups. They should stick to what they do best. Having fun and enjoying a great game. My favorite memory of the goons was getting loaded going out in cruisers and appointing the most noobish noob in the fleet to command. there was about 40 of us, we were all masacured but it was one of the funniest nights I have spent online. I never laughed so hard in my life. That's what makes the goons great. Their extreme ability to completely lose and still have fun. I sincerely hope that the goons return to their roots. But there is no place in Eve for some of their leadership. BTW has anyone seen the titan fund? I bet it doesn't even exist anymore. HAHAHAHAHA And when was the last time you saw Mittani in a fleet? HAHAHAHAHA

Work on changing the perception, and I doubt things like this would happen in the first place. I don't see huge accusations of inequality on any other MMORPG, just this one.
