Okay I was on the TS server when they decided this. I think its pretty well known amongst the FE guys that many of the Venal corps are primarily UK based. What would you do if half of your forces were tired and ready to go to sleep? You'd probably realize at that point that it was not a good idea to continue with the plan, and call it a night.
Maybe it does not happen for you, but sometimes real life does get in the way of a video game.

Yes Cao Cao you are right, NVA no longer owns Venal, the self proclaimed leader and head whiner 'Jade' decide it was no longer worth fighting for.
secure-nva channel read something along the lines of

Its the first cowardly alt come to accuse us of falsehoods to justify the knife that Halseth Durn placed in the our backs.
That really didn't take very long.
The segment of chatlog is true.
But of course the secret is in the rest which is not reproduced.
This story will be repeated many times over the next few days, but the cut-down version first.
Mining corps in Venal have made a lot of isk from mining straggler asteroids away from the main belts. This is apparently not an exploit like the grid bug mining since the roids appear a long way from the belts themselves.
Consequentially, some corps that knew about these "straggler roids" have made a fortune in Venal while the Foresaken war has raged on.
While other corps (Jericho Fraction and the southern PB defensive corps) were not informed.
Anyhow,
Foresake Empire began an offensive that threatened these mining operations and the mining corps themselves began to demand NVA support to protect their operations.
We were told that Jericho should send ships to defend these corps and fight Foresaken Empire.
"Fine we said, but we need to have a way of making money to replace our losses, and since trade is dead, that means help finding mining locations"
Now, I don't think it was unreasonable to ask the corps making fat cash out of mining to help share the mineral wealth to fund their protectors.
But apparently it was.
Because when we asked the NVA miners for this help we were told that the price of mining info would be a 50% tax on all the ore we mined.
Thats right chaps,
JF sends ships to support NVA mining corps (mining for entirely private profit) And in exchange we would be allowed to mine ourselfs at the charge of half of our ore for the pleasure of protecting these operations.
Well, I talked to my corp and we concluded that Venal was therefore worth nothing to us.
And that is the story of the quote mr alt.
Shall we move to the next one?

In response to why we're still fighting FE. Simple, their pirates, they want venal, we don't want them to have venal.
As to why we didn't engage last night, because we're not bleeding idiots. We learnt with BLADES, RONA-KIA and CELEST that jumping into a camped jumpin point even with the 1 minute load in timer, still means you will lose battleships. Also we KNOW UMI-KK is notorious for buggy gates, much like yulai.
Last time we had a fleet battle, half our fleet were stuck in the gate but still appeared in the system and died. We arn't going to let that happen again.
We will fight you on our terms not yours. Get used to it.
Why should we be the ones to start the engagment, maybe its time the FE jumped into our camped positions.
Why did people log? Simple, at 2am after been up to 5am the previous night we were tired. We knew that the fight wouldn't happen, it would be too big fleets, yet again sat looking at each other. So why should we stay logged on for another 2/3 hours till 5 in the morning just to fight you?
If you want to fight from now on, you can get up early or stay up late in your time zone and fight us during normal hours. I don't see why we should always be the ones that jump into your camped positions, and why we should be the ones who have to stay up late to engage you.
and the other thing I can't understand, is why everyone has to flame each other on a forum. I imagine the rest of eve are getting pretty sick of discussions saying:
we camped xyz for x hours and nothing happened, followed by 5-6 pages of name calling.
Keenon: "After sitting in the system for FIVE hours without even a (go away)"...

Around 12 eve time a FE fleet moved up to umi-kk..NVA moved a fleet down to h-pa and torrinos
1am eve time nothing happened
2am eve time nothing happened
3 am eve time the NVA fleet got fedup with waiting a logged off.
3:30 am eve time FE moved up to h-pa
Basicly FE waiting and waited and waited for all the euro people to log off before they did anything.They didn't have the guts to attack when everbody was logged on.

Well if a regular miner from Venal want's to do his stuff (mine) he can't do that right now, cos the territory is "under siege". Thus whoever calls Venal his home, they are not controlling it.
Claiming that you have to sleep, calling people names, and insulting them for "being pathethic for measuring *****es on internet" well, that just won't do, IMHO. Besides if they are geeks for playing games, wtf do you do mining there? It's even worse. Not like you have a REAL job you know.

Thats right - we did not attack your big red dot for 2-3 hours, why shoud we, its OUR region!
Time for the NVA to make the first move rather than FE as always. We too have european players (myself included), we was also getting tired, so decided to attack you in the end. We did not know that your fleet was logging for the night, we thought it was to make us jump in and then you all log back on.
Have some guts to make the 1st move next time
Edit : btw, same thing happened this morning, myself and 5 other FE pilots in H-P, and 5-6 NVA pilots 2 jumps out, we had to bring the fight to you again, and pod a RONA pilot in his Dominix (3 mins before downtime aswell - priceless).

Sorry this is bull****. The UMI-KK fleet moved towards H-PA for the first time and NVA's main fleet has been still in EC-P8R at this time. Watching the map the guys in EC-P8R took then the opportunity to go north and since the H-PA guys were backing off (being outnumbered, trying to scatter FE's main fleet further more), FE's main fleet went back to UMI-KK waiting for the EC-P8R guys to come up.

and you logged off the majority of your force. sad because we even brought our camera man whom hopefully caught the great log off on film.

Its a game fellas. And if you were wise you would have learned after the monthes of this conflict its always better to be with us than against us.
But who cares, I really dont, The NVE death toll should hit the roof with in the coming days and weeks, your pitiful excuse for a military is no longer the primary target.
You see our greatest success is that we are:
A. Not afraid of big red dots ona map.
B. Its only a game and we are the premier PvPers.
C. Our extenssive experiance in dealing with the NVA has more than prepared us to deal with the NVE.
D. We will always attack a jumpin point once we have an adequate force, which still is usually less than yours.
E. Our Empire voids itself of polotics and opts for a strong and powerful leadership, hense being an EMPIRE not a DEMOCRACY.
Now yes, Productive and Recreational Piracy is VERY legal in the FE, though it hasnt been practiced enforce recreationally in some time, and I like many others in the empire love to keep the title of pirate, because it symbolizes whom we are. A pirate is free, we do what we want, go where we want, mine where and what we want with out taxation or restriction, and frankly kill whomever we want.
Now i know the next post is going to be whats the differance between Productive Piracy and Recreational Piracy. well its very simple really.
- Productive Piracy: Is camping gates leading into our soverignty, to give the alarm of attack or to protect our resources.
[list=2]Recreational Piracy: though often not practiced these days, is simply kill and take what we wish from people to make a profit, there by excercising the freedom of 0.4 and below space.[/list=2]
Both are legal to us and if it stops potential undesirables from entering our space and blatently depleting our resources, well I see it as a huge beneficial asset.
Yes ninja miners do get through, and usually we dont waste our time hunting them down, but every day new strategies to stop them have been and will constantly be being developed.
Just wanted to clear those points up. Now back to every ones regularly scheduled wars, flaming, greifing, and smack talk.

No, I said you cannot own space, which you can't. Try reading peoples posts properly before verbally vomitting all over them.
And yes the NVA claimed Venal. But they don't own it, as its not possible to own anything in Eve but your ships and mods. Is that clear now? Do you want me to type that in CAPS for you? Perhaps fetch an adult to help you reply?
