Ok when are we gonna get some support for people using Maestro for such things like "Swap Character Portrait" and "Transfer Character" and so on?.....seems like you accept everything but these cards.....im glad to see that CCP have now sorted out the direct debit payment system.....but when are we gonna be able to pay for char swapping and portrait swapping using Maestro?

I canŠt see why the donŠt support Maestro because in iceland both visa and mastercard go through the same procurer. But Switch and solo can be a little more difficult because itŠs a U.K thing used to bypass the world wide Visa company ( more money for the issuer). But not long ago i heard a rumor that one of those cards is going to join the Visa company , and that should give owners of those card much better coverage.

to answer your question....I have real Credit Card's....Maestro is a debit card used by hundreds of thousands of europians and also part of the mastercard group......not everyone has credit cards so the current payment methods for char exchange and portrait exchange excludes a hell of a lot of people.

there was one blissfull period when PayByCash option accepted european PayPal accounts. I would very gladly use that, but with my Solo card and my Visa Electron card there is no way I can pay without buying GTC or asking my mate with a Visa Classic to put my sub in :(

I have found a new way to pay for eve, i have got a pre pay credit card. Its the same as a normal credit card but insted of getting credit and rackng up a big debt, like a pre pay phone you put the cash you want to spend onto the card and safer to spend on the net |

It is a bit daft that they don't have this option.
When I first started, it took me 3 days after the trial to get some payment methods sorted out! (Debit Card > Paypal > GTCs).
I would dare say that there are more EU than US peeps playing, and paying by Maestro would make you hell of a lot more money - how many people are lost after the trail because they can't sort out a payment method?
I would personally subscribe to the magazine if I could for example. More money for you = more server / dev goodness for us

While I am a Credit Card holder here is an intresting fact: Credit Cards came about because banks systems where not connected, nor where the stores, the credit card slip you signed was literally a loan authorisation for the amount indicated by the slip, the money given to the retailer while you took the goods. The loan was needed because they could not take your money directly nor query your account balance.
Banks are now connected, credit cards are only needed because they entrenced into our culture but for all intents and purpose are legacy and will be gone in the future. Loans can be credited into your account. So I say good riddance, and hope that those stores who refuse to take debit cards/paypal wise up to the lost business.
Heres a bit of irony too, I can use my debit card in the states to withdraw cash from any atm, but I can't use it in a single store, strange but true.

Did they ever fix this? I tried to pay for a sub a while ago with a visa debit. It would let me play for the selected period then it would never automatically re-bill me at the end of the period. I stress, the last time i tried was over a year ago and things do change without me noticing....often.

Yes, i agree here too.
My mum and dad dont like using credit cards to pay so after my trial i cant pay to play.
However, if they had the simplest method of all....SMS or calling via the homephone then people in my situation would have no problem. Its not like it will do them any harm to have more options.

I went to London for a holiday. I figured there could be at least some eve stuff in geek (computer) stores, or at the very least GTCs for sale. I found NOTHING!
People dont even know what im talking about.
So, I have maestro, would rather pay for more game time than for all the nonsense with GTCs.
I can get a GTC where I come from, but 50 day is bout the price of 100 day on eve store. Cmon CCP, we want to give you our money! |

I shall add a /sign to this. Went to extend account today and debit card was an option, tried to use my maestro as a mastercard (works sometimes) but get a strange error: All order lines must have the same currency [EUR], line# 0 with location set as UK.
So dunno if card works or not. Probably not though.

It was my other half's credit card, i don't use em, and now i can't access my character for the rest of the day. great.

I was under the impression that a lot of online stores wont accept these typers of cards as like Visa electron theres no way of proving the age of the owner (given to 10 yr olds these days) where as credit cards have a mandotory 18 age to aquire. Something to do with fraudsters. At least thats why we dont sell restricted goods to people with them where i work
