There are many reasons to leave a game over, but the case whe saw in february is definitely not one of them in my opinion. CCP handled the case after set rules. A company cant do more then just that. And I think what CCP did was wise
Anyway, I think we will see a drop of people logging in the next month or 3. Not sure though, but when I see out the window I see summer and sun coming! So I cant wait to get outside, start grilling and enjoying a cold beer on the lawn! But dont worry! I will always play EVE - even in the summer!

Dont think you can read anything from how many logged at anytime, 15k players just moving their alts to new ground or shopping,
Till you can see how many are dual/triple accounts the figures mean very little.

I got 24 accounts going, which I dont pay for...mining belts in three regions.
yeah right....my account ends on the 19th. Not for the reasons stated by the people who thought CCP shafted them.
No you cant have my stuff, BPO's, ships, gear. and isk goes into the recycle vat on the 18th.

So those who said "I quit" are trying to use up that time?

I cancelled my 4 accounts a while ago, but it does take time for subs to run out... I had them all on 6 month billing cycles...
Maybe a lot of others are doing the same...
But still, I log on for only skill training, which amounts to what? 1 hour a week at most? So accounts like mine would not really count towards that total anyways...
The "I Quit" threat is pretty meaningless to an MMO company me thinks... The ones who really quit are the ones who never announce it, they just get bored & go away...

I was just thinking of the peeps who've said they were perma-quitting. Doesn't make sense playing till your time runs out if you're never coming back... right?

I farm isk, I use it to buy ships to play with, furthermore I don't know a single person in game who has absolutely no need for isk. Following that logic I'd say your statement is irrefutable.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.

I think you have more ppl taking extended breaks than perma-quitting...
Like I said, I'd bet the majority of perma quitters never say a word, they just leave...
The ones who continue to speak about quitting, are the ones who want game changes, and they think the quitting threat helps them attain that...
Me personally, I'm not sure I'll be back, but I'll continue to train with the time I have just in case I do... I think most ppl who plan to leave EVE do the same...

I also was on extended cycle, this last account runs out on the 7th..
But it looka like all the people quiting are beine replaced as CCP is doing a massive new add campain.
But after seeing the new EVE ADDS you have to wonder what we are being replaced with.

Actually, with EVE on several websites due to the dev scandal publicized by a certain group, Google Ads are now displaying them much more as a hilarious side effect.
The easiest way to 'fix' Eve is to ruin CCP's credibility in the industry, and totally BEEP ruin the launch and their White Wolf RPG by epic degrees of BEEP and griefing." -Dawnfiend, Goonswarm |

I'm taking an extended break from the game. Only logging in to change skills on my three accounts. I'm catching up on all the games I bought while I was playing Eve.
It may come to the point where I see no reason to renew my accounts and cancel. On that day I will write down the usernames and passwords of the accounts on a little card and place it in my wallet just in case I feel like coming back someday. ---------------------- Boom goes the ship! It will happen someday.
I hope it's Infinity that dethrones EVE.
If that MMO is developed properly and takes off, it will be a sweet Space MMO... But it has a long way to go, just as EVE did in it's early days...

E&B is dead and SWG, Neocron 2, Planetside, Auto Assault, Matrix Online and City of Heroes certainly aren't competing with EVE - any more than World of Warcraft or EQ2 are competing with EVE. Not familiar with RF Online or Mankind.
Just because a game doesn't have fancy pantaloon wearing elves means it's a suitable replacement for EVE.
And that's the real reason you won't see people leaving in massive numbers. Every other MMOG out there currently sucks.

you do mean the goon scandal right? Devs did pretty good as always, try getting another company to respond like that or even post with their devs on a forum, not to mention the bloggs..
goons messed up, biggest joke in history of gaming clans other gaming companies wouldnt even bother to respond to the alligations at all, yet players blame CCP when they did more then anyone else would ever have done.
so drop it...
