What has triggered this? any way to fix this? where will this end?

Bet you high ends are up. If you look at prices over the last year low ends have been extremely high and high ends have crashed. If I had to take a guess, I'd say the marco's are moving from rating in 0.0 back to empire mining (probably the alliances with macro/farmer programs are charging too much though it's always possible somebody in China is telling the little guys to take a hike at gunpoint).

I have to disagree; mining in empire is profitable while mining in 0.0 is not as profitable as it used to be.
BSAC Mineral Reserve Recommendation: Tritanium û trade Pyerite û sell Mexallon û trade Isogen û trade Nocxium û buy Zydrine û buy Megacyte û trade
Key Buy = buy all you can because prices are very low Sell = sell all your stock or mine because prices are very high Trade = prices are reasonable, so you can buy/sell of the market without hesitating

In the last three months - since about invention started - at least 3500 Hulks have been sold in the Forge region alone. Guess what people do with those Hulks ;-)

I don't see Zydrine going up any time soon... its in nearly all the megacyte ores, plus its in vast quantities in the drone regions.

Actually, Zydrine went up about 200 isk per unit in the last couple of days in the Minmatar Republic. To early to call it a trend, but I don't think Zydrine prices are going to go below 1,000 isk.

Everything has more or less fallen drastically since Marts except Megacyte if you check jita price history. isogen is starting to ballance, but seriusly, check; zydrine, tritanium, pyerite, nocxium, isogen...
Kinda worried if the price of nocxium, tritanium, pyerite drops... if it keeps that way... what is next? Trit for 1isk each?

Well since NPC buy orders kick in at 1050 I would expect not.

oh and hulks arent the only thing dropping in price. look at ravens, domis, cerbs, hyperions, rokhs. and it all started with the patch from the privateers nerf.
p.s. funny to come here to ask about the market drops and theres 3 or 4 threads already

ya ive noticed a mass drop across all the expensive T1 stuff and low level minerals are dropping too,i mean domi for 50 mil? mega for 86 mil? and pyerite and trit are going back to their lower levels (makes me sad as i cant make as much as i could before, probly will still mine in mass just wont make as much per load :( )
but if u look at the T2 ships and their prices ... arazu 1 month ago was below 90 mil .. now its well over 120,diemos seem to be going up again as well, but i agree hulk prices crashed ... it doesnt boad well for the mineral prices ... time to start ganking hulks!

In a previous message you suggested equilibrium prices of:
Tritanium 2.42 Pyerite 3.88 Mexallon 22.91 Isogen 67.04 Nocxium 400.34 Zydrine 1,752.64 Megacyte 1,881.26
Mex, iso and mega are significantly higher than these prices yet you suggest trade instead of sell. Does this mean you've revised what you think those prices should be?

You haven't been around long enough to remember the days when ccp had to add decimal positions to the market so that trit could go below 1 isk each.

Demand is down across multiple regions for many mods and ships. What this trend translates into and from is unknown but decreased consumption in mods and ships = lower prices for low end mins due to the aforementioned increase in available strippers.
As low end mins fall, high end mins will rise slightly to compensate, however this trader expects a saturation of all mins and a crash on all fronts in prices unless demand increases significantly.
In other words, we need some wars. |

Danari, Those prices are based on ore composition. Other mineral sources like loot will affect the actual prices in the market. I still use those numbers to get a general idea of what to buy and sell. The only prices I would consider to be way off (factor of 2) are Pyerite, Nocxium, and Megacyte. But Megacyte has been always high, so it will probably never be near its equilibrium price based on ore composition.
Kazzac, How soon do you expect the market to crash?

When they changed the wardec rules I noticed my weekly ROI drop from 20% to near 10% per week within a week after the change. This was caused by less sales on my products, consequently my average profit margin dropped a bit as well because of dropping prices in the market (others were having the same problems selling their stock). As another result mineral prices started to drop slowly over the months after the change and have sort of bottomed out lately.
So, in my opinion this recession is purely an effect of CCP's manipulation. I won't comment on whether the change was necessary or not, but it's definitely a bad thing for manufacturers, miners and those who liked the privateering in high sec.

Not sure honestly. If I had to wager a guess, I would place it at a month give or take a week.
I have my reasons why, but I am not privy to share them in a public forum.

When I see people posting, WE NEED WAR, well its not really the fact that the wars aren't there, the whole north is at war with the west.
I feel it is do to smarter players and FC, not getting you BS poped if you don't have to or not even getting into the fight if you know your going to lose, run away to live to fight another day is becoming the rule of thumb. and the market is reacting accordingly by crashing and burning

Empire wars going down the drain and the BoB war slowing down have droped the demand. It will change when we get closer to Rev 3 when people will start stocking on cap ships for lv5 missions.

There's an interesting idea. Has the primary consumer of minerals moved from BS-production to capital-production? As a result, is value being added in the capital-component-sales portion of the chain as opposed to the raw-mineral-sales portion?
For a long time there was a distinctly skewed market in moon materials (although it seems to be balancing out now) that drastically depressed the price of raw moon materials because they weren't able to pad their margins as much as the end seller.

The capital market is already flooded, if it gets any more so than it will be worse % profit wise than battleships or battlecruisers.

Another effect caused mainl by the npc vs. pc economic apartheid.
The economy is way to "open", there is no balance or limitation to what and how things go into and out of the universe. Thus the natural buffer that npc economy should be is not active.
Thus not just prices but everything become based on player trends and exploiting economic holes in the current state.
Macroing, Wars, Isk printing on agent runnings, there are so many economically damaging features remaining unbalanced atm, so more of these things are bound to happen. This especially as the playerbase grows, skinwalking gets more the rule and multple accounts become the norm. People are pushing the EVE mechanics and the curent economy isnt stabilized be interdependencies. I am rather sure there is the need for some serious changes or eventually the EVE economy becomes so damaged that nothing makes any sense, especially not to people entering the game.
Hopefuly that promised economist they promised to hire will explain a few things about what ressources, currency and commodities are all about. As things are we will stay totally in the dark in regards to all things related to finances, because we know nothing of the reasons for things like this, we cant predict anything..
Some rather important examples.
To much ship loss, no smaller item or cargo loss.
Repair at stations are fast but expensive vs. player repairs being slow and free. (total economic and gameplay nonsense)
Total bias towards pirate and griefing each other, and not real judicial mechanics.
To large a difference risk-wise between empire and 0.0 , and no fair motivational factors besides that bad balanced economy. Wilderness isnt where the money is, its where the adventure should be. The motivation as it is bends reality, and only because pewpew is a griefer isue and not an active political and economic activity.
Balance the economy, and you will fix so many collateral effects.. Dont hide behind your personal wallet being damaged, or excuses like gameplay. The powerbases need to work in a logical manner, not based on most hours ingame and reversed population economic strengt..
