I can't understand how anyone would be able to pvp/pirate in this game
with any sort of a heart condition.
Ive been playing this game for alittle over a year, i PVP quite a bit and
i still get the heart going when i engage someone.
I love the fact that this game does this to me and i know im not the only one it does
it to.
So any pirates or 0.0 PVP'ers out there with a heart condition playing, or are u guys
strictly carebears...
BTW..I hope i never give someone a heart attack when i pop there ship and if i do
sorry in advance.

Yup I whole heartedly agree.
Its probably remenisant of the movie "crank"
when he injects adrenaline directly into his heart..
Sometimes i think i need a crash team by the computer...JUST in case....

First time i was attacked in low sec when i was 8 days old it was such a shock to me i had to run for my inhaler :(

I find the higher the price of the ship Im flying, the higher my heartrate goes on each encounter, Commandships and Vindicators get my heart easily above a 100m sprinters I reckon

the first time i done pvp several years back, i miss clicked so many times as my heart was cranking the blood wayyy too fast i was hardly able to click anything!!
and yes the cost of my ship directly increases heart rate, my fully rigged t2 fit astartes always near kill me when flying!
oh and i once had a deimos, i had it fitted with full faction hardeners (before t2 so were expesnive) a corprum med rep, officer rcu, faction guns dominiation disrupter etc etc, i undocked and fly right into a camp, i have never been so $%^^ jumpy in my life, haha and the even crazier thing.. i managed to warp befor they locked me :):)
/edit/ i promptly sold that ship for health reasons for 800million, and went back to normal gear :)

The riskier the situation the more I like it. Fighting whole gangs in just my ishtar has me shaking like nothing else. I've had to go outside before after a fight just to calm down.

i have a hart rate monitor that i use for the gym and running.
and you have to subtract your age from 220
to get your max hart rate(it is dangerouse to go over this)
and during hunting trips i have worn said hart monitor.
and i do reach my max bpm.
even been over a couple of times.
so take care all

My heart seems to be fine but my lungs take a beating sometimes. whenever i fly a super expensive ship solo and get loads of quality fights i can quite easily go through a 20 deck in a night.

I suffer/put up with mitral value prolaspe, 3 years of PVP did me in... so I make things now although saying that I've just geared up a few ships for some 0.0 fun

i get it too... never done that in other games. wow,gw,cs etc.. but eve. its just high on adrenaline.. :) its lovely.. even though i always lose..

The first time I was the victim of an unprovoked attack, which would be my first PvP, I was so freaked-out that I was typing what was pretty much caps-lock jibberish into the corp chat.

My corpmate warped to me in a BS, but was quickly destroyed. By some miracle, I managed to warp out with about 10% structure. I docked and logged off.
I was so shaken and distracted by the incident that 15mins later, I ran through a stop sign and very narrowly avoided getting t-boned by another car. Horns, screeching tires, yelling, the whole bit.
Man what a day. I love it.

I remember my first real pvp experience being getting jumped by two pies in cruisers while I was ratting. I managed to drive 'em off (didn't have any scrams fit), but my hands were shaking so bad I could barely hit the hotkeys
So, could EVE PvP be classified as a cardiac exercise?

When I started pvp, my heart was going like crazy and that was the rule for quite some time (more than a year). But with time passing and getting more involved, it got to get used to it and now it is just normal. The most amazing thing though is that in tricky situations in Real Life, it responds better and I get over them in a calm and clean head way!!!

Yeah I can definitely relate. After learning to deal with the loss of my first battleship I was able to deal with real losses like rejections and poor test grades much better.

he he he. this is so true to me. tried learning to calm myself down and it works a bit, but still good to get the heart racing. couple situations that have really got me:
couple months old flying my mining cruiser (pride and joy) in a dead end 0.4 system and warping to a station. found a red dreadnaught and a couple support ships. scared the s*** out of me but I managed to dock. he was only their picking up his ship as a guy in system built and sold capitals and was the same guy I sold my minerals to.
later on when I got my first bc and got into pvp I was in a fleet we had some combat with some enemies and we where getting beaten so we decided to run. unluckily for me my comp crashed while warping to gate. I log back in to find 20 snipers sitting couple 100km off gate and myself alone on the gate. warped out with just my structure.
much later when I have a few bs's and some pvp skills I am in a station in 0.0 and a hostile fleet is outside. hear a carrier come under attack and he starts screaming for help in vent as he has been bumbed of the station and can't dock, even though they had no capitals they where taking him down. I checked my clone, checked my scorps insurance, checked my scorps fitting, took half a minute to deal with the heart attack, then undocked into a swarm of red. amazingly I survived by using tactical points on the station and taking jamming shots at some of their fleet, carrier also survived at the cost of a raven.

Imagine this.
I just spent all my money on a Rokh, my first battleship, i had no money left.
I was flying home from the system i bought it in.
I was going through one low-sec sector.
There was a 15 man gate camp on the other side
They got my ship to 40% structure.
The only reason they stopped was because there so happened to be a friend of mine in the gate camp, and got ****ed at the campers, thanks to him he let me go.
I was SO SCARED!!!!

I know exactly what you mean. I still get the adrenaline rush, though it's not as powerful as it was when I first started.
Well...
...except when I'm flying one of my faction-fitted battleships. My machariel costs something like 3 billion all told, as does my CNR, and it's a rush when I fly them in PvP. I've used the machariel extensively, though less so since Revelations reduced the number of small groups and solo players running around and turned it into massive ganksquads. The CNR I rarely undock despite it having more DPS and a better tank than my machariel. The reason? Lack of mids for tackling/webbing/E-war/sensor boosters and EXTREME lack of mobility. With the machariel, if a fight isn't going my way I can often MWD out of range and warp, but with the CNR it's a full commitment to either win or die (this is probably why I get a lot more of a rush on those few occasions I do fly it).
Still, the moment that had my heart pumping the most in EVE was when a friend and I attacked a domi outside a station with my machariel and my friend's domi...and when we were fully committed and struggling to break the supertanked nosdomi's tank, his friend undocked in a carrier. I de-aggressed immediately and kept shouting at my screen, "Dock, mother******! Dock! Come on! Dock, you fat pig!" as the combination of the domi's drones, the sentry guns, the carrier's fighters, and most of all the nos and neutralizers took their toll.
As the last bit of my structure was disappearing, I heard the most beautiful sound of my EVE career: "Docking request accepted." I'd docked with 2% structure (thank you damage control!).
Needless to say, I had the shakes for a couple minutes after that.

Ill have to agree with DE.
I'm past the heart pumpin times and now, when ever I get into a nice fight I spark one up and ***** open another cold one.
On a good night's pvp I always end of the same, drunk in a smoke boxed room haha... HEALTHY!!!

Oh damn how good that feels
I once had to go for a walk to calm my nerves after that once happened to my pimp fitted abaddon got jumped by two carriers sentries and several cruisers.
