My heart rate never seems to increase a huge amount, its just that it beats harder... I consider a good PvP run to be my cardiovascular workout for the day.

My heart still kicks up a few notch's when flying with the odds against me, probably one of the main reasons why i still pirate so much.
First experience of adrenalin rush was when i was in my first cruiser (cara) spotted a (x's name brutix) on scanner, The player was almost the same age as me so i thought **** this I'm gonna try. i warp in lock scram and fire, I thought i should try and ransom but i was so shaky and hyped up i don't think he understood what i was typing.

I've just had a re-incarnation of the "racing heartbeat". I got it at first but then gradually got used to it and suddenly there was nothing..... but for NO REASON whatsoever, it's come back after 2 years of pirating.
Anyone else found this? (Maybe my body's telling me I'm getting old, LOL) _____________

I just spent all my money on a Rokh, my first battleship, i had no money left. I was flying home from the system i bought it in. I was going through one low-sec sector. There was a 15 man gate camp on the other side They got my ship to 40% structure. The only reason they stopped was because there so happened to be a friend of mine in the gate camp, and got ****ed at the campers, thanks to him he let me go.
I was SO SCARED!!!!
meh, thats ridiculous, if a friend of mine got into a gatecamp of my corp, then id shoot him too if he didnt had friendly standings towards the corp.
or is it a stealthnerf to highsec suicide pirates? |

My heart doesn't beat a whole faster but I do get a bit twitchy with adrenaline. I think being unexpectedly attacked is worse, if you're ganking then you're ready for it.
It's easy to calm down and carry on afterwards but try losing a ship in an unexpected way and then going to sleep... it can take me two hours. Late night Eveing can seriously nerf my sleep on a work night.

You know whats the best thing to do when your heart going wild and your about to pop? Put a smile on yer face
Seriosly, thats not your heart going fast, thats rather a very big adrenaline rush that makes it go faster, so just keep your head cool.... ---

Doubt about billions...just today I lost a BC while moving out of no-sec region with approx..2x BC cost of loot. Well, Im not rich, but still I wasnt going insane aboit it, sent my warm grats to the killers.
Ofc, you do get some sort of 'omg that sux!' feeling, but it doesnt make your heart or whatever else you got inside, to jump out. ---

I'm just barely 14 days in, and this happens every time I think I've got the ship scanner worked out. "There's a stabber, and he's right there, i'm sure of it" as soon as i'm sure, the heartrate starts. When the jump completes, and the computer freezes for just a second for him to load, my breathing stops. And from then on its about as much of a race as biking up a hillside.
So very good. DAOC I PVP'd in for years, cold methodical, mechanical PVP. Lots of emotion, but not a quarter of what I get from eve. And i'm only flying a cruiser.

I live for the rush, its probably one of the best things about this game.
I know a guy that is the pure definition of cold blood, he shoots, pods, gets shot without a bit of rush in his veins, you can practically scream that ur 2 days old and that its your last isks, the guy will simply continue and move on. _______________________

I don't get excited that easily in PvP now that I've played quite a bit, but this particular close call had me laughing and cheering at my screen for the next couple of minutes:

I did, of course, manage to lose it a few weeks later instead in a completely foolish way, but let's not get in to that. :p --

afaik it can be quite dangerous to get too many adrenaline rushes from gaming IF youre not used to it.
if you sit around all day, play your games, and get your heart pumping it can be really bad for your health.
if youre used to get your heart rate up like this by ... well.. sports'n'stuff... it shouldnt be a problem...
so to all the fatties out there (like me): get some tranquilizers or exercise!

Originally by: Ander Meh. Sissy reasons you others have come up with :) I prolly get increased risks of retinal micro aneurysms :P beat that!
Retinal micro aneurysms can cause nothing but visual loss at worse- aneurysms of the anterior or middle cerebral arteries can cause a subarachnoid haemorrhage and are far more worthy of good PVP.
