Amael Galenus Mighty Moshin Emo Rangers	Posted - 2007.06.08 12:56:00 - [1] Simple question really- is there an idiot's guide to the history of Eve's alliances/wars so that I can bring myself up to speed with the current situation? A ôwhoÆs whoö of 0.0 wars type of thing. I've been trying to piece things together from the forums without success as information is fragmented & biased. My reason for asking is that I'm tiring of empire and am considering getting into 0.0 wars... SirMolle's recent comment of: ôOur goal in Eve is to control all of 0.0 space, and when thatÆs done weÆre going to take over the empire one by one and control the empire as wellö in the NY Times article has irked me somewhat and seems to be acting as a personal call to arms for me. I'd like to pick a good alliance to fight with, even if it's a loosing battle. All I know for sure right now is that I don't want to join BoB or GoonSwarn (no offence intended to anyone). Thanks in advance!

To OP: If you want to help against BOB go to the recruitment forum. Post the info about a type of corp/alliance you want to join along with stating it must be anti BOB and active in the war. Than you talk to the corps. Find one you like and join it. But keep in mind that it was not an isolated comment - it is the stated Reason to Exist of Bob. The net effect is that all you need to know about current Alliances is that either you're gonna be a Bob pet in the future, or you're gonna help pull down Bob and burn him at the stake. It really amazes me that all the Non-Bob alliances cannot put their differences aside for a bit, and kill off Bob. I understand all the Egos involved, but really....do you think the Jews and the Gypsies fought each other when the ****s were marching into their town? Even a purely industrial allianc as its member count goes up, will need more and more space. If you are not expanding, your little more then a target waiting to be taken over. Now BoB does seem to be an extreme example, and appears to actually have a thought out plan on what to do with the areas it takes, but does that make them evil compared to other pvp alliances? I think that most of BoB's post about taking over everthing, including empire, is just an attempt to generate enemies to shoot at. As far as entering 0.0 to do some pvp, keep these concepts in mind: 1) Expect to lose ships (dont fly what you can't afford to lose). 2) When in a fleet, follow orders (even if you think they are wrong) 3) If your FC (fleet commander) messes up, accept that he may be learning also, dont ditch him for a few errors. 4) If your FC keeps making the same error over and over (not learning), then you ditch him. 5) Dont read posts from me, because they tend to ramble over every possible subject 6) I like banana pudding

Each alliance is a collection of corporations that have formed joint communication lines with other corporations. If the amount of channels increases drastically there is less and less attention per channel, that reduces overall communication efficiency. Hence the reluctance to create more channels and the reason for very slow reactions. Lack of internal communication. To solve this, mergers would have to be made, but it is quite difficult to incorporate several indipendent funtioning entities, not least due to a "if it ain't broke don't fix it" -attitude. He is not blue to me and is in my system then everyone warps to kill him ahhhhhhh a gank squad on the other side of the gate waiting for orders to jump in and give a good fight.Well thats the raid part of 0.0 Then you have your full all out wars. Were they bring in dreads,carriers and so on to remove you from teh system which they want control of and you will make sure you defend your self from this threat. P.S make sure it's the type of alliance and time zone that works with you. If your looking on current news on whats going on with the big war right now. You would have to do alot of reading off the forums. Right now Band Of Brothers and there allies are winning.
