On the test server a week or so ago before the latest mirror I notice that when skills trained you got an eve mail
2007.05.30 22:56 Training of the skill Torpedoes to level 3 has been completed.
IÆm sure were all used to seeing those mails, and on the test server I wasnÆt getting a mail... has this feature been taken out of Rev 2? I personally like getting these mails as it gives me a sense of achievement, when you see 500 mails you can feel proud of it :) I really hope this feature isnÆt taken/going to be taken out?

I think it has been replaced by the skill training history button. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

The Character icon will flash (and display "[NO SKILL IN TRAINING]" if you mouse over it), just as the Evemail icon used to flash when you got that mail. And if you have sound on (which you may as well if you're Alt-Tabbing and not in heavy combat) you'll get Aura telling you "Skill training completed".

IMHO good riddance.
The 'skill training completed' mails kind of annoyed me. I know that my skill completed, thats what the blinky character sheet thing means. And now I will be able to open my mail box without the game freezing for 30 seconds.
A small 'fix' that I agree with 100% _______________________________ Pleese exucse any seplling erorr's in tihs psot |

Considering EVE is a giant database, and all of those evemails are kept in a table in that giant database, the Skill Training Completed mails would take up a fair whack of the entries in that table, especially when players let them build up to hundreds. I would suggest these evemails have been removed from the game to lower the burden on the evemail database table as part of their 'Need for Speed' project. Personally, I delete most of the mail I receive, as I prefer a tidy inbox.
IMHO, a change for the better

This would have been a valid point if not for the fact that there also has to be a record in a database somewhere for the entries to the skill history :)
Cant remember from sisi, but not even sure if you are able to clear your skill history, if not, its actually worse, cause you force the server to remember each and every skill from each and every player, instead of having say, half the players deleting the skills.

Before the patch, "Training completed EVE-Mails" were stored in the `evemail` table along with all the other EVE-Mails.
Now, after the patch, you won't get any new EVE-Mails regarding the skill training and the `evemail` table will therefore be under less stress, making it faster to open the EVE-Mail window.
And while we're at it, I'd also suggest that we remove the CONCORD EVE-Mails and replace them with something else (in a separate table).

It is a perfect example of not allowing any customization.
Why not leave it to the player if we want the mails or not? Some people like them, others don't.
Stop making such changes without offering alternatives. Honestly, customizaiton is key to happy customers!
