If you want to go get yourself killed by BoB, head to Period Basis or Delve.

STC Gets built up.. Starts having fun and putting plans into motion... We built our outpost.. Rejoiced.. started building up for more projects and plans.. Only to have someone we have absolutely no chance of beating in a head to head fight.. take it away.. I keep building myself up.. Thinking maybe this time things will work out.. Put hours and hours of my time into working towards a cause.. to have this happen.. not sure i see the point of 0.0 anymore aside from disappointment.. Meh, guess in a few days ill see how it all plays out

Gneeznow Minmatar North Eastern Swat Pandemic Legion	Posted - 2007.06.15 16:26:00 - [70] well there is a lesson to be learned here, dont claim space unless you can defend it, dont claim on the basis that if you are attacked your ally x y z will come to defend you, this has been long overdue for xelas imho, i've fought xelas a lot both on this character and my alt, and from that experience it has never seemed that you guys have been cohesive in defending your space, the only exception i've seen is requiem of hades and 7'th space cav who have made efforts to defend it. tbh i dont envy your next few weeks in eve, mass logistics and relocating all your stuff back to empire or npc stations, it sux but its a valuable lesson learned wouldnt you say?

I've heard statements that Xelas was not exactly pulling its weight, but since I don't personally know you guys I'll leave that issue out of the argument. Be it known that I agree with removing Leeches when necessary. So the reason may have been legimiate for ANY alliance to make. However, in this case, we are also talking about Bob. Since it is Bob's stated intention to control all of 0.0, I see only 2 possible outcomes for Bob Pets should they 'win': 1> You join Bob at some point in the future. 2> You are simply the last to be crushed by Bob. On Point 1>, I don't believe that Bob intends to happily merge with their Pets in the future. They may attempt to Cherry-Pick some people, but the vast majority of Corp members will simply be handed walking papers, just like Xelas was. So I don't think 'Joining Bob' is a viable strategy. On Point 2>, what you are attempting was called 'Finlandization' after WWII. See, Finland was a Western-leaning country, but Russia was next door. So...to keep the USSR from invading... they modified their Country's laws to make them more appealing to the USSR. This bought them time, during which the USSR so happened to collapse. However, had the USSR not collapsed, Finland would have been eventually conqured. They just made it less imperative that it be done quickly by becomming a USSR Pet in the meantime. In my mind, each Bob Pet is simply a Finland waiting to be slaughtered. Now, you may be hoping that Bob will fall before they decide to eat you. If so, then remember that the way to the USSR just might go through Finland.

I've never skipped work to play a game, and I'm sure that a lot of other people haven't done that either, but the fact still stands that the majority of Xelas never felt like the alliance was worth fighting for. That is what I was commenting on. You can be as emo as you like, but you can't ignore the dozens of posts made on Xelas Internal forums made by past FCs and High Command asking for more participation. That's all that ever happened. Asking only gets you so far, and I only know of 3 corps that were ejected from Xelas for no participation or other reasons. Demon Womb - for refusing to fight in anything other than T1 frigates. Gallente Nebula (can't remember the whole name) - for harboring ISK farmers (ummm... kinda did a 180 on that one I guess) and some other corp whose name escapes me. Setenta surely tried it's best to be everything they could, but 1 corp can't carry an entire alliance. _______________________________________________

Meh, guess in a few days ill see how it all plays out i think this setiment actually sums up how alot of veterans feel about 0 space these days, why spend time building something up when its easy for the supepowers ( mass cap fleets powers ) to take it whenever they feel like it. just my opinin on 0 space life, which is y i live in empire now as well.
