Hello, I found a nice moon in high-sec, but it has tons of small secure containers anchored there. Will that prevent me from anchoring my tower? I seem to remember reading somewhere that containers at a moon stop you from deploying your own tower - is that true?

I dont know if this has been changed, but last time i tried, anchored containers stopped you anchoring a POS. However, filing a petition had it sorted in 20 minutes .

What do you mean by a nice moon in high sec? You can't mine in high sec so what makes a moon any different from any other? _________________________________________________________

For example if that moon happens to be in line with station exit so it can be used as insta undock bookmark.

Ok, maybe I should have said "a moon in a nice system" instead.
The system in question is well positioned and connected, according to my requirements. However it only has a small amount of moons, and there are towers at all but one of them. Nearby systems aren't feasible because they either have a higher security than 0.7, or astronomical office fees.

I know I can petition to get the cans removed, but I'd prefer not to do that if possible. I'd rather not say why just yet, though.

I think it depends on how far the cans are from the center of the grid, which is where the tower will anchor.

Might be some one had the same idea as you? They might be waiting for standing to up or the guy they asked to anchor the tower.
Just check info and contact them and see if this is the case?
As you know many have to get the standings up and this may be stopping them from setting a tower on the day they want, unless the cans have been there for ages.

FYI, this is a petitionable item as an exploit. I've had several secure containers removed by GMs in the past few months, once quite recently as well.
Labeling your container "Reserved for XYZ Corp" is a great way of proving that you're not storing anything valid there and that you're circumventing game mechanics...least that's how it was explained to me. |

Try to anchor it anyway. There was a change a couple patches ago that moved anchoring towers to the center of the grid so any cans dropped at the warpin point wont block it anymore.

Have them removed..
This is a known and clearly stated exploit. Any GM you talk to will come there and remove them. You cannot "reserve" moons, with cans. If however there is a tower there, off line, they will not remove it, but we all know there are other ways around this...:)
I can confirm the above, and have done it on numerous occasions..
