With our activities within Xelas at an end and the X-spies campaign over i began to wonder what i could do next to keep my interest in the game... Whilst I personally began my roles within the X-spies purely as a means to end Xelas, over time i actually began to enjoy the treachery, underhand tactics more than ratting/pvp/fleet operations... So now i begin my new campaign...
My plan is the following, I am going to infiltrate a yet to be selected wealthy corp and then procede to steal from them everything they own and lead their corperation to ruin. Throughout this process I will document it step by step as I do it. This will hopefully add an interesting element of excitement due to the fact a corp member/ally could very well read this post and connect the dots. Another side effect is that it might also help a few people work on their corperation security. I shall also be doing this completly on my own, initially i thought it might be interesting to bring in other people to the operation however I feel if I do this completly on my own it will show how much just a single person can damage your corperation.
As I suspect this thread will be heavily flamed/attacked I would like to please thank the mods in advance for the work they are probably going to need to do in keeping it clean/on topic. I already know i am a scumbag, worthless coward who should show his main blah blah, corp thefts are nothing knew ,blah blah I don't care, its a roleplaying game and this is the role I have chosen.
Now the setup...
The first thing I need to do is create a character which will begin this process. I have 5 accounts, however i only keep 2 or 3 active at one time. One of these has a character which I created 7 or 8 months ago for some anonymous activities i needed to do, the character I shall be using on this account I will call "Alex". Alex has been in some useless empire corp since Febuary. On this account is also one of my main characters that shall remain anonymous. On a second account I also have "Ben", this character is 3 months old and will be my secondary character in this operation. Both Alex and Ben have never trained any skills so have the starting 800k/900k sp.
Now i shall be looking for a target..
More to come.

I would be quite impressed if you achieved it - your starting from a pretty sucky baseline, 2 obvious alt characters with no Sp is not a good start for getting into a wealthy corp

This guy was fairly amusing at first, but now I find him kind of sad. Like one of those people who will do anything for the people around them to pay attention. In the end, no matter what they do, the people who they want to care, still don't.
He will probably succeed, make a ton of ISK, and people still will not care. Infiltration using alts, deception over the interweb, and corp theft are nothing new though. Its all fairly easy if you are willing to put the time into it, because there are extremely limited game mechanics available to prevent it. No one will care, because its easy and its been done 100s of times before. The whole thing is a bit sad imo.
So Faceless, if you really want people to recognize your actions, I suggest doing something challenging, unique, and extrodinary. Corp theft is none of those.

Your entire post is based on your own ASSUMPTIONS of my reasons. I am doing it for fun. The public posting aspect adds a exciting twist to it and enjoyment to people who like this sort of thing. If you don't care.. don't bother posting. If i was doing it as some bizarre attention seeking exercise surely your whiney post just plays into that...
So no, i don't care if people recognise my actions or not, It's not trying to be challenging, unique or extraordinary. Its Just what i said it is, something to give me amusement and give some interesting reading.

You dont need to justify your actions to anyone for anything you do in a internet spaceship game. But if you are doing it for fun, then that means you are a attention seeker.

Amazing statements. So, in an internet spaceship game you should never do anything you don't need to do and if you do something for fun it is attention seeking. You should be the one writing a blog.

The target is chosen...
To begin my search i browsed the forums for many hours, viewed the recruitment channel, looked at killboards, watched a few channels to see what people were talking about..
My main criteria was the following:
1. 0.0 based corperation in a carebear alliance 2. Heavy use of one or two POS's 3. A mixture of PVP and industry 4. A good active member base (more to steal)
Quite quickly i was able to find a group that at least appeared to match these needs. I sent conversation requests to those openly recruiting, although i quickly lost a few candidates who revised their setup to "we are moving to 0.0 quite soon".. and others who operated only from stations in 0.0. The one on my list that i liked who was openly recruiting had no contacts who were online.. Those that were not actively recruiting did have people online.. but the problem is that when doing these things "cold calling" often raises suspicions. The trick is to make it appear like its them who have suggested you joining.. and so after adding a few names to my address book i began the first step.
Using the killboards i searched for recent kills, from within the group of alliances i was looking for, after quite a few failures of people being offline i finally found a member a the corp who was online, and with the aid of some fellow had made a kill a short while ago with his alliance. So, i set destination, got in my noob ship and setoff.. Whilst doing this i continue training the learning skills on Max, and also Ben (who is sat in station).
Quite a while later...
I arrive in system.. and there in local is the member of the corp i found on the KB. Now this is where it gets a bit underhand... Rather than sending a conversation request to the CEO or others (which raises suspicions), the way i have found to achieve it better is to contact a member of the corp about another matter, start up conversation, change topic of conversation to general eve.. 20minutes later, mention how your bored with what your doing currently, if he doesnt bite and say "you should speak to x about joining us", then push a little further and ask how he got into xyz corp.., at which point if he does it, you have a "REFERRAL" of sorts or sometimes he'll add you himself if he is senior enough.
I dock in station, send conversation request.... 1 minutes goes by... nothing, 2 minutes.. 3 minutes.. no response. I begin looking on the killboard for more information, reading the forums.I Alt-Tab back to eve to find still nothing.. Except, in the same station i am docked i now discover another member of the same corp.. so i send a conversation request.. and he accepts immediatly.
Now without detailing the specifics, i begin with a question.. one that while kind of noobish, has the impression more of a player who has played for quite a while and has always wondered about something, rather than giving the idea i have no clue. He replies with something nice and cheerful and then i begin my crap talk.. I shall name this player "Stan".
After a while of him talking about things..i finally change subject to his corp, what they do, what he did before that.. blah blah blah. At this point he has not asked anything about my character so in order to begin building some foundation i mention i invent a back story as to why the character was in an NPC corp for 4 months and why i know so much about the game in such small amount of time.. Stan then mentions he has to leave for a while.. i say goodbye.. and without mentioning it, add him to the address book.

From what i gathered the recruitment policies for the corperation are not strict although noobs are not accepted and so with him assuming my character has 5-6 million sp combined with the fact i am a returning player..this bodes well. However i made no mention to him of joining his corp, only that i was not happy with my current corp whilst carefully making up flaws with my current corperation which were the almost the exact reflections of all the things he mentioned were good in his corp, although not too much.. Now that i had a spare momment with all conversation windows closed i decided to use this time for a little setup. Doing a bit of concordery, i shifted alex so that he was just below 0.0 sec status rating. Transferred some isk from my main ( not a good idea always - as will be explained later - although i did not have time to be doing it other ways). Next is the problem of the character selection screen, as there is a possibility it will be asked for and both contain characters i obviously do not want them seeing or knowing about incase this all goes very wrong.. so, i closed the eve client... here is where a poor internet connection has it's uses.. i load up eve, enter my password...
I Hover my finger over the print screen button... hit enter... client loads.... window opens... and then.. there is a 1-2 second momment where your character selection screen has the 1 large box and 2 small, with stars, but has no characters in.. *press*, i get my first screenshot, my characters quickly load into the boxes. I open mspaint, paste this first image in and save. I then alt-tab back to eve, take a second screen shot with characters filled in, and then save.
10 minutes later.. and some nice photo editing i have a screenshot with Alex and 2 empty squares :)
I go afk for quite some time. A few hours later I launch eve on Alex. My contact is online again, but i do not want to convo him yet as he might get concerned i am too eager. I buy Alex a newer frigate and a few more learning skills for both him and Ben.
I keep searching forums, looking for more corps.. send a few conversation windows... many failures, and then after a few hours by pure chance.. whilst talking to recruiter ("Boris") who i told did not have what i was looking for.. he suggests a xyz corp from earlier ( Stan's corp) who he left a short time ago and operates in the region i am in.... After laughing for some time at this.. i realised i have a problem..
If i approached the contact Boris gave me and managed to join.. "Stan" from earlier might get suspicious about how i a) contacted him b) suddendly appeared in the corp c) His friend might recall returning from AFK to find a conversation request from me... and if they were clever they might put together a picture that i was targetting them. So rather than pretending to not know which corperation he was talking about, i decided to use this chance incident to my advantage and maybe use this story about how i met Boris when applying for xyz corp. I explain i have encountered them before at which point he begins once again to try recruit me and explains his corps plans and how larger they are... I explain borisCorp is not really what i am looking for, he says bye and i leave the conversation...
Its now almost 24 hours since i begun the operation and have what i think is a good target ready. I return to Stan's system.. still unsure of my approach i am going to use, I decide not mention my chance meeting with Boris unless i needed it as mentioning it might draw too much suspicion despite it being innocent.

Edited by: Faceless Pokemon on 18/06/2007 19:23:29 So i send Stan a conversation window and without beginning with a different subject i immediatly ask him what the requirements to join his corp.. Reason being, if i started with "Hello, How are you doing", blah blah and talking about something different.. later changing the subject to joining, he might look back at it and realise i basically sent him a conversation window just to ask to join but did it in a roundabout way with a deception of sorts... this is not the impression i want to give and so i ask immeditaly. A small thing you might think, but these small things help to set initial impressions and these small flaws when together with others can often create suspicion. Stan begins to explain about what the corp asks for imn pilots but tells me i should speak with someone else.. he gives me a link ( "Paul") .
I send off a conversation request to Paul.. he accepts and i do the explaination and mention Stan.. Immediatly i sense this guy is certainly not as pleasant and friendly as Stan. His sentences are quite short and no fun at all.. i can see this is going to be hard work.. so i switch to my conversation window with Stan, mention i am in conversation with Paul and in jokingly mention he seems to be in a bad mood... Stan find this funny and mentions he is always like this.. Reason for this is hopefully this might make Stan think he has something amusing to say in Corp chat in reference to what i said, then with other corp members joining in if they see it, might, in the eyes of Paul reinforce my connection with Stan and give me more credability. Whether this happened or not, i have no clue. But Paul changes onto questions about my character, the npc nonsense, any alts, skill points. I reel off the same things i mentioned to stan. Meanwhile still speaking with Stan and saying things which hopefully make him have sympathy on me and stir more corp chat mentions about letting me in.. This goes on for quite some time...
Then after not replying to my messages for quite some time, Paul rather bluntly says he wants a screenshot of my character login screen and a screenshot of my wallet with donations from other players showing alongside the conversation window with him sent to him through email now... Uh oh... now my laziness in regard to transferring isk to him using my main has hit back at me. Now is the time to act fast. The key to doing this is having it so that any hold up's in the process appear to be coming from his side, not mine.
I put the conversation window next to my wallet, select an option that returns no records blah, take a screenshot. Open MSPaint, save. Go back to eve, have wallet show player donations.. (which obviously shows the entries from my main i used to buy the skills).. i then take a second screenshot, save in mspaint..I then load up in a photoshop tool, select and copy the small rectangle which says "Player donations" from the second screenshot, and then place it over the selection which returned no records in the first.. Slightly risky in that he may wonder why a character of 6 months or so has never had anyone give him money.. but better than my main being exposed. I save. close eve.. ( to pretend i am about to take my login screen screenshot which i have made already ). Load up a free email website, create an new account, Reload eve.. wait a short while for it to load. Open conversation.. Attach the two images and send... and tell Paul its sent...
Heart stops beating a momment... a few minutes goes by... he then replies and as using his blunt style tells me to go to x station.... Done deal. 25 minutes later im in corp chat :)

Episode 3 - Festering
Well the initial hard part is now over.. a few introductions made and saying hello, vent registration, forum access. I am now a fully fledged member. A little snooping through questioning (carefully done) and it appears they have some 2 systems they mainly operate from.
First stage is to lay low for a week, too much too soon and it looks a little enthusiastic. So i shall be spending the next week just making conversation and getting to know the members and what they fly/like to do, and begin to understand the various personalities in the corp and how they get along with each other. It appears i have chosen a nice corp, they have quite a few clashing personalities it seems and have problems. Even better, corps often have a tendancy to offer out roles a little too quickly when things are not going well... :) First though i must fester, watch and learn.
Also thanks for your messages of hate and disgust sent to my inbox, it all helps to keeps me going... and BTW threatening me with bounties is rather stupid..
