I'm still not certain what those EvETV people are up to. Whats the show format like exactly? Do we get to vote someone off each week? ----

Hey, if I'm not allowed to troll you aren't either.
Back on topic please, how long do you honestly think that Sheepy Diddler guy is going to last? I can tolerate watching one of the three females talk about EVE in a naive way but I don't think I could sit there and watch Mr. Extreme talk about anything.
"THIS IS THE HURRICANE, You know what a hurricane is like? Yeah it's like MOUNTAIN DEW, SO EXTREME!, This reminds me of the time I was surfing and got attacked by a sea turtle, I was like.. Hey little turtle, THIS IS EXTREME, and then I got some mountain dew."
We're not going to need the hamsters anymore for CCPs servers, we can harness the power of everyones rolling eyeballs instead.
"Today I killed a Splinter Alvis, it was so extreme!"

Incidentally, it didn't come off as arrogant at all. It's pretty sensible overall.
But yeah, only way to tell how it will be is to watch the first episode or two and see how it comes together. I know I'll post my own analysis of the first episode on in the EVE TV forums when I finish watching it.

I'd rather be watching blond chick speak well through a teleprompter than a lineup of BoB and CCP guest hosts mumbling incoherently through a hangover as per the last tournament broadcast.
It's not like that last major event was lacking in nubbish commentary, anyway. At some point they were explaining to the audience what a tackler was just to fill up deadtime.

Well, why not? It's not like only vets are tuning in to those events. Hell, I had coworkers tuning in that never even play the game, who appreciated the extra commentary and information.

Which is why I don't see a problem with having a slightly noobish hosting staff deliver the same content in a much more presentable manner.
I think we're in agreement here.

If you two are about done patting eachother on the back I'd like to get this thread back on the rails.
What are the top ten things these people should have to experience?
spiral, use your connections to get them into some fleet warfare as tacklers or something. Maybe force them to sit on a gate for a few hours?

I just read your post and... man.
My feelings too. I hope it goes well, but if they just stuck with the basics like you said they'd do far better.

I'm actually more keen on watching EveTV now.
The last lot of presenters were like car crash TV to me, with there talk of raping this and raping that at every opportunity.
It might be news to some, but people presenting TV don't necessarily have to have total inside out knowledge of the subjects their show covers.
A good script that's factually checked by an Eve expert, a willingness to learn a bit about Eve, good on screen skills. Those are of primary importance.
Then they bring in interviewees for an expert analysis and further discussion.

Why should we watch a tv show which has presenters who have been playing for a few weeks, just my opinion but what exacley can they have to offer somebody who has been playing for 4 years such as myself or other people ?
Serious suggestion here, but maybe CCP should actually create a poll to see who actually wants eve-tv, i'm guessing it would be pretty damn one sided to nobody wanting it hence why no such poll would be created. |

This is why I love this game.
"Oh, presenters for a media venture based on the game? Well, get your ass in a pod, noob!"
Totally unforgiving, but with a sense of humor too. Hopefully, the EVETV folks "get" it, which is a much more important quality than years of experience in the game.
EVE's not about how long you've played, it's about your attitude.

So true. I have known a few people who started playing and within a few days 'got it' and are still at it and loving the game. On the other hand, I know a couple people that have been playing almost as long as I have that still QQ when they lose ships and whine about greifers and such in empire.

"YOU LITTLE SCUMBAG, ARE YOU TRYING TO FIT SMALL AUTOCANNONS ON THAT KESTREL? HOLY JESUS, TO THINK THIS HAD TO HAPPEN TO ME!"
"If you ladies leave my island, if you survive recruit training, you will be a weapon. You will be a minister of death praying for war!"
EVETV could be epic, could be.
Oh hell yes, I would double my monthly Eve expenditures if they got R. Lee Ermey to host even just the PvP tourney.
"I suppose if god had wanted you through that gatecamp, he would have miracled your ass over there by now, wouldn't he?!"
"Where you from private?" "Jita sir!"

Eh, might as well give them a chance... Would be interesting to see how they "grow" over time after playing longer. Right now they might be fairly new, but given enough time, they'll know what they are talking about.
Besides, if that FortunaFive lass is ever in my area of space, I wouldn't mind showing her my pod.

Just read your post for the first time and WOW do I ever agree.. EVE is about the community and what I liked about the old EVETV was watching people that have built reputations over time. People I've met or heard about in-game. Not nubie hired actors =\ ☠-->-->--
