All credit to Uhr for providing a way to connect but people should not have to be using proxies to connect to TQ. My normal connection route has been working since march last year and suddenly stops for no reason over a week ago.
This crap is completely unacceptable, i dont give a flying toss what patch problems CCP are having. This problem started before REV II and they still have not given any explanation.

Originally by: Marus Sulla Without appearing to be a complete ****** how does this proxy idea work? I connect to another sever which redirects to the CCP servers? This solves the problem by using a differnt route to the CCP servers? Thus avoiding the problem telnor router(s)?
Spawinte you seem to be closer (geographically as well as methaphorically) to my problem (see previous posts) Have you any luck?
no luck, Uhr set up a proxy server of his own and is charging 20 mil isk to use it, you have to mail him and he sends you the IP, you then add the IP to your prefs.ini file (at least i think thats how it works )
i'm pretty sure there are other free proxies out there but i'm not about to route my traffic through servers that could be recording everything that goes through. i want CCP to fix things on their end, and in our case where we can ping TQ with no probs there is clearly something wrong on their end.

most of the problems seem to be in scandanavia and ireland, me and marus are in ireland with Clearwire as our ISP. I wonder if clearwire has gone on a port blocking spree?

EVE encrypts the connection, so you don't have to worry about sniffing :)
You'll forgive me if i continue to be extremely paranoid and not take your word for it

I'm not telling people not to use your proxy i'm just saying that i wont.
I just think encouraging people to use a proxy is not going to get this problem fixed for everybody because not everyone wants to arse with their client nor should they have to. Lets also not forget about the many people who dont use these forums and probably have no idea whats going on or why they cant connect.

i dont know if any progress has been made with the telnor outage issue that some are getting.
i managed to get on just after the server outages by waiting for the countdown to hit 0 and it let me connect.
but once i logged off it went back to the usual status:unknown, at least i got to switch skill, but the issues still need to be looked at

I'm kinda praying that there is another server outage this evening because the only way i can get on is by wating for the server startup countdown to hit 0.
For some reason once that happens it gives me status : ok and i can get in. But once i relog it goes back to status : unknown. So basically the only way i can get on is after a reboot or at the end of daily downtime.
Does this mean anything? Does it indicate a prob on my end or the tranquility end?

I'm on Clearwire and its not their fault for once. I think some peole had success by changing their IP address or using a proxy server to connect. I have been unable to do either so far.

no idea where we go from here, i'm just waiting day by day now until somebody gives some kind of response as to what the cause might be. we've tried everything, using a proxy seems to be the only answer, but as i said before we should not have to do that.

if your problem is similar to mine then you might be able to get on the way i do, even if its only to switch to a long skill, when the server is counting down to uptime near the end of downtime make sure your client is running, when the countdown hits zero it gives me status:ok and lets me log in.
if you close the client and try to relog though you will get status:unknown so the only way to stay on is to never close the client and be there for the end of DT every day, thats not really an option though

anybody still getting the status:unknown for no reason at all.?
i've been getting it for 3 weeks. contacted my ISP and its not them, they specifically made sure that the right ip's and ports were open for me. i have exhausted every other little solution i could find from eve-o and the web.
i have restored system to points waaay before the problem. tq has just decided that i am status:unknown and thats that. i can autopatch and everything else just not login.
i am with cleawire ireland pinging/tracing tq just fine. this is the last time i am going to post about this. less than 2 weeks until my sub updates again. if i still cant connect then it wont be renewed.
please if anybody else still gets this then post here, would be nice to know if i'm still alone or not

Originally by: Yoritomo Aleta Hey Spawinte,
I'm using Clearwire aswell, and I can't connect. A friend of mine was also using it and he couldn't connect either. He's sent his modem back and is getting in Eircom. I have worked with CCP over the last few weeks and they think that something either in the ISP or my router is blocking port 26000. I have spoken to Clearwire and they *say* they have changed nothing, but I no longer believe them. When I used the program suggested (http-tunnel) I was able to get through, well, until the lastest patch which now has me stuck at Attaining Bulk Data. That program set up a proxy that allowed me to listen on port 1080 instead of port 26000 for EVE connections. Basically Clearwire won't connect to CCP on port 26000. Clearwire are known for blocking ports due to there rabid anti-P2P stance. I think your ISP is the problem.
I can connect with the same machine over the BT network, but not the Clearwire.
Just thought you should know,
Yoritomo
P.s. I hope it is a CCP problem, because there is some chance of the situation changing then.
damn it, i contacted them about this and they requested ip addresses and port numbers so the could make sure all was ok. i gave them the tq and test server ip + port 26000.
they said they had made the right settings changes to my modem but i guess they are still blocking the other ip leading into tq.
guess i'll be going digiweb then, i really didnt want to have to do that cos it means getting a landline which i dont bloody need.
