Relax people. The game will be up soon. I too, am sitting her not earning any sp or isk... so...what can we do? Nothing but wait. We pay for this game for a reason. Its a bad ass game. Period. You got to give these guys credit...a year ago we broke the 20k mark....now we are consistanly having over 30k people...on one server...at the same time. That is a marvel in itself. It you want something interesting to read...checkout the titan kill thread :P

Aravandor, I think we all appreciate the small miracle of Eve's network and systems, however the nature of capitalism is a GREAT miracle, not a small one, which allows the provisions for this game. The dollars will begin to vote if things like this keep happening. We need to let them know, that's all. . .

Hey look, it's new content, alot of new stuff is introduced, CCP has always tried to fix things fast, and I don't know about the rest of you but I've seen faster fixes and results in this than I have much larger and more popular MMORPGs. Give it some time, CCP will fix it.

i am also stuck in Jita ... have been a lot of these things lately and i don't think the 200 000 paying customers are satisfied to see this. Anyways, i hope they'll get it fixed soon. We get almost two hours downtime + the extended downtime for new servers... this is not what we can expect for paying as much as for any other MMORPG on the market...

Eve only has about 18 more months of game time. Star Trek Online next year will eat any of the new player base, and take 1/3 out of Eve.

Well plenty to do actually. Write on message boards, email, do other computer tasks, actually get out of your desk chair go to some other spot in your house and work on another hobby intrests... geez more to life than a video game. Yes we pay for it, no point in stressing out or freaking out or getting the equiv of road rage to a game. Life is > than a video game. Yes it's down, yes we want to play, it will be back up, it always is and we can always find other things to do and then check back. I know though it is more irritating to people who have very restricted play times but stuff happens pretty much sums it up.

Stargate SG1 will have out their MMORPG in about a year as well. However like all MMORPGS the content/storyline/playability is all a little different. So they will always grab slightly different audiences.

and lotro was supposed to kill wow. Its still a growing market and honestly, there's no guarantee the star trek online game will be any good.

anyways, before the server went down i had to alt tab and close even because i was basically stuck in an endless loop fighting some weenie ship which was doing almost 0 damage to me but kept healing because of lag. whats going to happen? am i going to log on and find myself in a pod?

 That one too.

CCP never has made lag and connection issues a priority, and the dissatisfaction of that is well known with the creators of STO at least. Just read the blogs and news items of the STO development, They do play Eve, and they do watch Eve. Unless CCP radically changes Eve, and radically advertises that, the game lag may fix itself from the lack of players next year.

Right but thats the problem with this world. Every coproration basses policies, proceedures, and accountability on a perfect world. Which is redicous because we all know its not. So you threatening funding for something that provides you more entertainment then most other things you do at a fraction of the cost. Not to mention they are doing something that has never been done in this magnitude before...and your expecting it to be perfect. Eve is up 95% of the time.

Quit acting like you think the world is perfect and everything works like it is supost to. Especcially for a company who bends over backward for all its subscribers. No expansion cost, 95% uptime, low subscription fee, actually provides fixes and content upgrades, and hell-a-fun.

Try taking a look at it from their point of view...maybe that will help.

People who were in the middle of missions should be safe they will reset. However the people who had finished missions and were heading to loot/salvage get screwed! Losing all that loot/salvage does not sit well with me. A simple "oh we can't do anything about that" is really starting to suck!

Plus that in STO you can walk on stations and on ships, things that eve online only expects to release next year (the most early date, it can be in 2009) and by the time that happens, players will be so eager to walk in stations and on their own ship that they will change to STO and never return to EVE (because they will accomodate fast in that society after that)... so it's all up to CCP what move they make next

Not very often, of course, they installed a massive update a few days ago and they just installed some new hardware, so these types of problems can be expected.

This has happened more in the past few months than it has in the past year before that! It seems to be every weekend now! If we all start saying "It's to be expected" then we are all just giving them permission to do the smallest amount of work needed to keep customers. Instead, we should be writing MORE regarding the horrible performance this game has experience since the WW merger and the Need for Speed initiative took place...

 Downward spiral, folks!

If this doesn't stop I'm canceling my sub, no sense in playing this the way it is now. Currently I'm stuck in Jita and cant log in :(

Come on people, just because the server has a hiccup doesn't mean that the game is completely bad now. While yes we all pay and like to play the game when we can, it's still just like any other game out there. There are glitches, bugs, issues, what-have-ya in just about any software out there.

I've only been playing for a couple months. I just barely been playing MMO's for about a year. These comments made toward CCP and threatening to leave, they are really not called for. and if you think about it, if they do respond to some of your posts, it'll be in a way like putting kindling on a fire. Sometimes makes the problem worse. Soo suggest a little cooperation from some of the player and patience. It'll get resolved soon enough.

I am -6 GMT which would make it 20:30 (8:30pm) my time for the servers to come up... It is now 21:20 (9:20pm) my time.

Only thing I can figure is they meant 3:30 GMT....

So how about intead of whining and falming about CCP we just wait and see what happens, it's not the end of the world people. I'd rather look at it from an OBJECTIVE point of view DeadNite. I've already looked at it from their point of view, mine, and a few others I can imagine in the fraction of a second I allocated. This forum is to convey informatin, in this case, the experiences and needs of the subscribers, who pay the bills, to those who would privde for those needs. A healthy business would take it in stride and would thrive from constructive criticism or "feedback" from it's customers. Perhaps the most perfect world is the actual world, consider Candide. At any rate. . . I'm bored. I woke up drunk and I wanted to play and BAM whoa, it's not here. looks like I have to read or post or something. . . yay.

Saturdays are busy days for Eve. This is the first Saturday following the latest patch. Even though the game has crashed, the patch was a good thing and the crash is an unfortunate technical glitch that CCP will work out. There are valid reasons to criticize CCP, but this crash is not one of those reasons.
