The RAM drive really makes a difference to lag. Make the loading of small files so damn quick. I also hear Gigabyte are developing a SATA2 version.

I have a big silver box with cables that go in (or out, not sure). It is loud.
Also it has a nice tray that slides out to hold my beer.

I can take the E6600 up to 3.60GHz and the RAM up to PC2-8000 but they require extreme cooling so I don't usually game at those temps for fear that a cooling failure will crash my system.

If you're running XP 32-bit edition, you won't be able to use the full 4 Gb. Physical memory address limitation - tops out at 3.5 Gb. Vista and XP 64-bit are ok.
