Starship troopers rocks.
You got to be kidding about Babel, brilliant film, a must see. Probably the only film Brad Pitt has almost shown he can act in.
The general idea about it was a good one(multiple storylines that end up relating to eachother) but it was just poorly done and wasn't very interesting. ------------- When in doubt, F1->F8... |

Munich made me want to gnaw my own arms off with boredom. It didn't help that I really didn't care about whether the main character or his family lived or died. The movie never managed to bring any feelings out in me towards them whatsoever.

Of the top of my head and in no particular order:
Highlander II the sequel that everyone likes to think never existed
Alexander how could they sully angelina so :(
Blair Witch spent most of the movie trying to figure out what was scary, maybe I am too used to in your face gore rather than the horror that relies upon imagination. Quite a few people walked out bored during the movie when I saw that
New World - zzZzzzz
Eragon - oh dear
Batman & Robin - every sentence made me cringe, puntastic
Speed 2 - followed the rule of sequels and sucked
Star wars 1 - Jar Jar must die!
Lost Season 2-3 - no idea what went on there, one second there was a polar bear and the next this crap black mist. And they plan on making it till 2010 I heard!
Ghost Rider - just no
Pirates of the Caribbean 2+3 - not maybe the worst movies ever but could of been so much better, they seemed to drag number 2 out just to make a trilogy out of it and get some cash.

The gory ones don't scare me really. It's the physchological ones that make me think "what's out there?", "what did that?" etc. that scare me.
I must have been in the perfect mood and perfect setting (Dark winter night ISTR) for watching Blair Witch as it scared the daylights out of me. Even just seeing the wierd symbol hanging from the tree, and the pile of stones.
I guess it wouldn't have the same effect if I'd tried to watch it with a load of beered up mates after a summer afternoon barbecue etc.

I see a lot of you mention Starship Troopers 2, which really did bite. Just curious... was it even released in theaters anywhere? In Canada, it went straight to video, and then about 12 hours after that, it went to the "Rent it for a year for 99 cents!" shelves (well not quite, but close).
My own most horrible movies are The Black Mask with Jet Li, and A History of Violence.

Verhoeven should have picked a different book to disgrace then. And making the move as basically a Robocop (not that RoboCop is bad) clone was insult upon injury.
It you recycle the same tricks you already used before, it is just lazy.
And when it is done to literature with a POINT, it is a crime.
Might as well turn Romeo and Juliet into a **** flick.

Originally by: Fink Angel The most depressing film I've ever seen was Once Were Warriors.
Not "bad" in a "total crap" sense, but really really depressing.
Go see the sequel "What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted". Jake tries to turn his life around, which actually produces a lighter moment or two. I enjoyed both movies for what they were.
The only movie I can ever remember not being able to sit through was the very first Star Trek movie. Both Anchorman and Super Troopers came close to joining that club but both times my friend was insistent that I stay and gut it out. :/

some of the worst movies i can think of off the top of my head-
Labyrinth Willow Cop and a half-almost makes me lose respect for burt. braveheart-mel gibson sucks. LOTR-fail Ben stiller movies-epic fail Rush Hour 1+2-chris tuckers voice makes me want to tear off my own ears after about 5 minutes. so many stereotypes i wanted to send a copy to sharpton. batman and robin battlefield earth click independence day event horizon-this movie just got really really bad towards the end. and the middle a bit. napoleon dynamite-killed more brain cells than popping a bag of disco biscuits crank-the one redeeming scene was when...well...it involves amy smart and a crowd. made me lol. the last samurai once upon a time in mexico-one of the worst movies ive ever paid to see the scorpion king
also anchorman is a great movie. so is the new bond (devoid of 50 million gadgets, and the opening action sequence where a guy gets drowned in a f*cking sink, as well as the running scene with sebastien foucan made the movie worth seeing.whole thing=awesome) Meatwad FTW |

First off, Starship Troopers is awesome! If you didn't like it, watch it again and listen to the odd one-liners, and also think of WW1 when you watch it, and you might understand the irony... If you still think it's crap, then watch Starship Troopers 2, that really was aweful!
Serenity was an awesome film! As my brother says: "The perfect way to end the series!"
As for bad films, the 'digitally enhanced' versions of the old Star Wars films make me sick... Particularly the bit in Return of the Jedi (I think) where they're in Jabba's lair and that very bad piece of CGI sings... Ruined the entire trilogy for me when I watched the digitally remastered versions...
AI was also an extremely poor film... Had loads of really bad endings and just carried on and on and on! Should have ended when the boy got stuck underwater, what was the crap about the aliens!?

Lol, recently I watched War of the Worlds with the great man of religion tom cruise, truly epic person of mankind.
Many questions ran through my mind but the biggest discrepancy i could see was the repetitive, ZOMG HUGE BIG ALIEN TRYING TO KILL US scene, immiediately followed by a "let's just stand/sit around for a while and talk about our personal lifes/stare stupidly and blankly at the evil alien." :/
My friend and myself worked out that by about 45 mins into the film we would have been about 100 miles away from danger in a car in a field sumwhere or up a mountain. Where was tom cruise and his buddies? In their house making a cuppa tea in the same city that is getting torn apart.

Edited by: LVSOCOM on 01/07/2007 16:18:18 Recently, Norbit. My god. This movie was tailored for the "OH NO HE DIDN'" crowd.
Next would be Eragon... I liked the story much better when it was called "Star Wars" and was set in space.
Notable mention, Alpha Dog. Nothing like a guilt trip for something you didn't and wouldn't do.

Oh dear lord they made a second one?
I'll never forget the scene in the first one with the guy staring at his dead dog then he does this stiff turn towards the camera and quotes "the only good bug is a dead bug". Just the way the whole scene played out made me laugh for days everytime it crossed my mind.
well accually Starship troopers is made as a parodi, almost everything is overplayed, and full of cheesy oneliners.. that's what makes it so bloody cool... I for one love it

I heard the first movie also got military funding a bit for its production, also heard they are making a third but with original cast (havent botherd searching it prob not true) Oh and yes the film is quite different from the book....and frankly people who use "it's not like the book" as an excuse for movies being crap just annoy me, it can be totally different from the book for all I care just aslong as I enjoy it is all I care about tbh. --------

But the original crew wouldn't have Diz!!! She made the movie worth while with shots like the co-ed shower scene and the cold hearted bastards had to kill her. /cry
And yes war of the world with Mr. Cruise was pretty much a joke. I watched that one with friends and every time it showed a shot of the son being all ****ed off we'd all yell 'ANGRY FACE'. And personally if I saw 80ft tall robots killing or kidnapping people I WOULD NOT go anywhere where theres a ton of people cause that just screams 'I'm cattle like the rest of you suckers'. And the scene when he detonated the grenades inside of one made me think of how these aliens would be having a hell of a time in the middle east. Hit the mountains man, I bet those those things probably didn't go near those areas.

I got that in a 3 pack with some western that is just as good and a bloopers reel which has my ribs hurting after the scene where crow was supposed to be on fire and the fire gets out of control and they just keep playing it out.

Starship Troopers 2... liked the book, liked the first movie (for different reasons, obviously), whomever made the second one ought to be shot. Terrible in so many ways it hurts.
Final Fantasy was pretty bad.
Pretty much all films based on comic books.
Star Wars Episode 2 and 3. I have more acting talent in my left nut than the guy who played teenage/young adult Anakin Skywalker has in his whole body.
Epic Movie epically fails.
Batman 3 and up to but not including Batman: Begining.
The latest James Bond.
Flags of our fathers/Pearl Harbour, because I thought I was going to see a war movie when I went in the theater, not a bunch of sentimental/romantic crap.
The Ring I thought was pretty lame. The only scary parts are when the dad electrocutes himself and when Samara goes through the TV screen. The rest was mildly creepy and not at all entertaining.
Transporter 2 was pretty lame. I like the first one though.
Jeepers Creepers 2... lol.
Aeon Flux and Ultra Violet... two of the few movies I couldn't watch till the end.
Alexander. Only saw a few bits of it, and what I saw enraged the Alexander The Great fanboi in me.
In a similar vain: Troy.
Oh, and the Crow 3 was, well... I dunno how to describe it. It's almost worth watching just so you know how thouroughly bad it is.
