Don't have 'throw-away' ships, even T1 frigates - always try and get back in one piece.
Having said that I pretty much exclusively fly Blasterthrons solo and loose them to stupid odds fighting out-numbered, perhaps that counts as 'throw away'?

Tempest.
Used to use the 'cane in that role but then I realized they are about the same price to lose since t2 medium guns and nos cost at least twice as much as large. The tempest I'm using now I only paid 89m for, and the cost + insurance - payout = about a 12m loss when it goes pop. Hard to beat that for such an effective ship.

the funny thing is that a raven cost me less than a caracal due to insane cruiser sized weapon prices, sure icould fit t1 on my caracal but who the hell would do this?

Why fly a caracal anyway? It's not a solo ship by a longshot, and in a gang wouldn't a blackbird be far more useful?

Pretty much anything where I lose less than 30mil a pop I consider a throw-away :)
Arbitrator and Harbinger being two best for me as Amarr and drone user. Some cheap fit battleships fit the role perfectly as well.

Caracal with 5 assault missile (standard), MWD, 2 sensor boosters, scram, web, and 2 bcu's. All T1. Most all fittings from dropped loot. Cheap but effective.

Sry... caracal wins, because it's not a 50mil loss on the highs if you have T2 heavies... since they're only 2.5 mil now. Then again, it doesn't do anywhere near the damage of the raven.

I got a thorax for this exact role. The whole sod it if it dies it's only cheap etc but then i rigged it and fully t2 fit it so it's worth nearly 100mil now 
but yeah rax is best throw-away ship for me. can take gate fire for a while and has everything you need for a ship in it's class.

Mids: 7.5k scram(incase you end up tackling for someone), ab
lows: 'accom' sar, hsII
Goes over 1km a second, runs everything but the repper for quite a while. Does about 50 raw DPS. 2 serpentis wing leader's just about pay for the whole package. It can kill most rats up to battlecruiser size, and aligns/warps away faster than almost anything.

I agree, they have enough speed to close the gap or open it and they have enough lows and pg to keep you alive. If you loose one, they are cheap.

Rifter in general. Caracal for small gang (5x HL; LSE, SensorBooster, 2x Damps, AB; 2x BCU). Although I finally got the ewar skills for a blackbird.

i like the Griffin
throw some standard launchers on there, with a multispec in the mid (cald frig 4, and signal dispersion 4) and you can jam any other frigate. so long as you have a web, theyre toast.
also, the punisher is a good throw away. with armor compensation skills high and amarr frig 5 the thing has crazy resists, and i use projectile weapons on amarr ships w/o ROF or dmg bonus to lasers.
