Hi Eve,
It would seem that life has claimed another EVE Player
A Bit of backround on the story.
Back about 4-5 months ago, the CEO of ZPHY (Zephyr Manufacturing Group) of the SMASH Alliance one day simply when AWOL, no-one knew where he was or what had gone on, even to this day he remains the CEO of ZPHY.
After weeks of searching Nanobot (ZPHY Leader now) had been searching as to why their leader had disappeared with a majority of his corps assets. Today he got a reply

I'm currently trying to get in touch with all those guys Who I believe knew Red. (And that he disapeared suddenly). Finally got an answer, although it definately wasn't the one I was looking for.

Hello [Nanobot],
I am sorry to write that David died 6 weeks ago after being in a coma for
many months after collapsing at home.
I'm not sure if you knew or not but David had a long standing terminal
condition with his kidneys.
With my current workload I haven't managed to get through the list of
people
that David wanted me to contact - I would appreciate it if you would tell
the others in eve. I still have a few messages that David wanted me to
contact in eve that I am trying to find email addresses for.
It all feels a little like a nightmare that won't end still.

When VHI was in SMASH, I remember I asked him to carrier jump stuff to empire for me. Really nice guy. RIP Red 7, you will be missed.

This really does bring a tear to my eye. Although I never really knew him, I am sure I speak for all of RK when I say that he will be missed.

Red was one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of meeting in EVE. He was a truly impressive person, always listening to what anybody had to say while gently offering an unskewed point of view. I'll most definitely miss talking to him on Ventrilo, where he was most famous for sounding like he was actually in a spaceship. You'll be missed Red :(

Red 7 was a great guy. He was always there for us. If you needed something, Red 7 was there to provide it. I want to say more, but just can't find the words. I loved the guy.
A great pilot.
A great person.
You will be missed.

David/Red 7 was such a helpful man. He'd do his best to help you, no matter what. He helped our corporation numerous times while we were in SMASH.
Its always sad to hear about the loss of someone, but it is so much more hurtful when it is someone you knew.
My condolences to his family.

I never knew Red7, tho somewhere in space it is sure to have met him. Everyone seems to remember a nice guy and a good player and that's what counts. RIP Red7. My condolences to his family.

Losing a friend or family member is never easy, and the void they leave behind is one that can never be filled. Remember him as he would like to be remembered; a friend, a wingmate, and a family man.

I knew Red 7 briefly, just a few months when Ore Mongers was in SMASH. Red 7 was always the guy who would help you out with what he had in the game, and when there were some internal issues, he joined our corporate forums and wrote a couple of long-hauled posts. This guy could've become anything in EVE.
I always thought he had the coolest voice, he talked like they talk on the comms-channels on Star Wars, with an accent that always made you smile. You could hear that he was a positive guy, and very determined.
It's such a sad thing that things like these happen to the best of people, the people who are motivators, the people who just by being who they are make you in good spirits for the glumness of how things can be.
The internet is so ... strange, people can disappear, and it's because they had a fight with their girlfriend and they had to move some place else without connection. Then they re-appear again months down the road and say hi. Though we knew Red's health was deteriorating, I never expected the worst. I didn't know until yesterday, and it made an empty void where a good friend used to be, not just in eve ... but everywhere.
Fly safe Red 7, a.k.a. David,
I hope the gates to wherever you go aren't camped.

EVE is so much more then a game. All the people you meet becomes your friends as sure as if you had met every day to play chess. Although I never met Red myself it saddens me deeply when someone in EVE goes afk.

Red 7 helped me in eve so much it was him that moved into capital building.
We in Zephyr Manufactring Group will continue with how he saw the corp moving in eve.
