Like most have said, unbelievable improvement over last week. I'm sure there are little things here and there, but for now I'll just sit patiently and see how you progress it yourselves.

Blinky's Reviews: EVE TV Episode 2
The addition of an autocue has totally eliminated many of the issues I had with the first episode. StevieSG and spiralJunkie are far more animated now, freed of the shackles of reading off papers.
Some highlights.
General game news is coming along, again, I love the concept of hearing about all the things happening across the EVE universe. I hope more and more corporations and alliances -- no matter what size or where they base out of -- get in touch with EVE TV so what's important to them gets shown to the rest of us.
The convention footage was neat, it's nice to see the CCG getting more exposure. Was funny seeing spiral wrecking the place. He's such a pro. :)
The Farjung and Ifni Show. Was cool seeing both of them together again on camera, and I look forward to seeing them again during the Alliance Tournaments. They did a great job here talking about what the needs are for Tourney correspondents.
This episode is vastly improved from the previous one. The production is still high quality, but it's a bit more... down to earth? Not sure how to put it. Feels more like the old EVE TV broadcasts did in terms of general delivery. This is a gooooood thing.
All told I've become more impressed with the whole endeavor. It's not like I wasn't pumped about it before, but there were obvious flaws with the first showing that needed to get out there and receive feedback on to get cleared up. I think things are heading in an excellent direction.
--
On a semi-side note, I picked up a $5 bundle of J:creds to watch this. I suppose I'll skip a coffee or two at Starbucks this week, but at least I'm set for a couple of episodes. This should by no way be construed in any way shape or form by EVE TV folks as support for Jalipo. I still think it stinks to high heaven, but I'll open my wallet if it means it gives EVE TV some clout to kick out Jalipo sooner.

EDIT: Oh I almost forgot about the ship profile. This was a great start to what I hope will be an ongoing segment. Perhaps some very specific fitting advice, say giving an example fitting for both beginners and advanced pilots who wish to use the ships? Just a thought.
Specifically on the Ship Profiles. We want to steer away from detailed fitting, for a few reasons - one, it ouwld take a lot more than 3 or 4 minutes to give detailed fitting advice, and also, it's covered in EON. This isn't some cunning ploy to get you to buy EON or anything, but instead, we're aware that if someone has both EON and EVE TV, they don't want to hear the same information. _

WOW if eve-tv improves this fast then amazing things will happen. I mean its basically 'there' already. The community cried out for a less formal show and you guys listened, listened got on with the job!
HUGE praise for Xylaina and the rest of the eve-tv crew. I missed Fortunafive and Fang, nonetheless the content was sound interesting and informative.

I was watching Stargate season 7, ep 8 - 'Space Race' with the tv presenters chatting and intercutting with sponsorship, info tickers etc and was thinking of Eve TV, which seemed flatter by comparison. Might be worth watching (with tongue in cheeek, of course). :) Anyway, good job on this ep, everyone seemed a lot more relaxed. Free the hair, find an excuse for more Fortuna5 and you'll do well ;)

I'm having trouble with the accessibility of the show. My slow internet speed means it's buffering every few seconds, and my credits are going down at 12 per second
I would like to watch the show, as the reviews I've read have said its impressive, but with this method its pretty much impossible for me.

A very nice improvement. I could see things moving in the station background, the camerawork was more dynamic, the overall pace was a little faster but more constant, and there even was a little splash transition thingy at some points like I suggested in the last thread. That made me extremely happy
I'll agree with Seleene though that the newsbit with the T.I.T.S. war (gawd ) left me standing a bit like "huh... what just happened?".
Overall, this is turning out really good. Keep up the good work!

Nice watch. Less BoB if you can. More experts. Farjung and Ifni are great, maybe give them more interesting question to work on, experts are more cool when they start actively discussing a topic.
Had to giggle a bit when you praised the catering in Iceland. Most of you guys are Brits, everyone knows you have a terrible cuisine so getting real food must habe been a blessing ___

If you have paid to watch the show and find that you can't because of the buffering (I think most have experienced this), there is a torrent on piratebay of episode 2 available.

heh yeah posting about the off site download probably not a smart idea... of course... getting screwed out of your credits and being unable to watch the show due to technical difficulties also not cool.
Tough call on that one... however... CCP's forums, so your probably going to get a nice stick in your nethers for that one.

I still miss a feature: Considering we have to pay by the minute it would be quite practical if there was a way to know where certain parts of the show end or start so we can skip the stuff we are not interested in (like reports of the great war for example *yawn* ) ----------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree, that'd be nice. You can kind of hack job it by skipping around in the stream, but you're never sure if you've missed a segment that might interest you.
Also as a suggestion, it might be a good idea to offer one or two segments free each week, and then charge for the rest. That might help get more viewers interested in your product and willing to pay for the extra stuff they are interested in personally.
It could very well be a special low quality stream for the free section, with heavily discounted high quality stream option for those willing to pay the bit extra for it.
The 200 free credits was nice, but it disappears fast. It won't give folks the opportunities to preview the improvements you're making and will continue to make I'm sure.

That was a good show.
I'd like to see some news about what is happening in the different story arcs. I'm not in a role playing alliance and I'm not really a role player but I wouldn't mind knowing what's happening in the virtual world I live in.
I really like the "pimp my ride" idea. That would be cool.

That was a huge improvement. The hosts seemed much more relaxed. I really liked the feature on the Rokh, and the coverage of the 10th anniversary - great stuff. Farjung and Ifni had some great stuff to say too.
Very impressed.

Very nice! I enjoyed watching this episode... but I'm still waiting on the couch. I heard some laughing and whatnot during (Spiral knocking over whatever that was at the CCG tourney) the show... this was GREAT... it wasn't as serious... there were some parts that were still a little too "real life" news like.
But "seriosity" aside. AMAZING JOB on the second show!!!!

Well, thank you for listening to them. It's obvious from episode 2 that suggestions are being taken to heart where appropriate and possible. I'm looking forward to seeing how things evolve.

Enjoyed that both Stevie and Spiral aren't reading off papers as much anymore :D
REALLY ticked off with the 1000k stream buffering every thirty seconds. I tried it from a few PC's around my neighborhood at friends and family and still same issue.
I might have to watch in a lower quality :(

Edited by: Death Kill on 03/07/2007 19:10:09 Spiral Junkies seams lost while in studio. He seams much more relaxed when out talking to peeps. And the whole studio anchor man/woman thing is horrible. Its terrible, static and awful.
Bring back old school eve tv plz.
edit : Interesting content though.

Firstly I'd like to say that episode two was a great improvement on the first show. Along with the working autocue, you've had more time to get settled, and it shows. Secondly, as a couple of other people have said already, I think a more relaxed sofa format would be preferable for the studio sections.
There's a few reasons for bringing back the sofa. I'll start by saying that Spiral is obviously more comfortable there, and his style lends itself to a more relaxed, chatty, atmosphere. Since I think that's the direction the show should take for the base studio sections anyway, this is no bad thing imo.
I think we can all agree that there's been enough evidence recently that some people can take the game too seriously at times. EVE TV is probably the best medium for giving a gentle reminder that although we (some more than others) like to play hard, at the end of the day, regardless of our similarities or dofferences, we're all people who play this game for our enjoyment. I'm not saying you should be going out of your way to send a message, not many like being preached to, but that seeing people, rather than avatars, talk about events in and surrounding the game in a relaxed manner is a healthy thing.
If there are times when there are things which require a more serious presentation, these are probably best done as a cut-to feature, recorded in a different setting if required. The currently used news desk could be used for example.
I suppose the main point I'm getting at here, is that the tone of your features can be tailored to match their content, while the show would be improved if the general tone was relaxed but professional.
