I was thinking it might be cool to start a thread about unorthodox tactics used in pvp. Whether it be for pirating or fleet battles or 1vs1 stuff, post stories of what has worked for you. This isn't suppose to be a "fittings" thread, but of course list what your fitting, but in addition how you use those to an advantage that might not be of the norm. Try to stay away from the cookie-cutter stuff, like hammer and anvil or log-on traps with fleet battles, or the simple, fit web, scram, mwd and kill stuff. I wanted to see what type of "out-of-the-box" tactics peeps were using and it might be fun to compare and come up with new ideas to do the same ole same ole.
Generally all i'm saying is how can we use these ships to do things that perhaps we never thought of before. Might be interesting. And for the honor of god, lets not make it a flame fest if someones idea sounds stupid, or if this idea is stupid :) Post away!

Edited by: Admiral Pelleon on 29/06/2007 23:12:34 A pair of EW badgers, 2x Sensor Boosters, 4x Sensor Dampners.
Work wonders when paired with a group of sniping BS's. Usually keep them 0km off the gate so they don't look suspicious.

I used to love to catch low-sec miners using the following tactic:
1: Warp into system (miners "ZOMG, piwates" they go safe) 2: Scan out their cargo can and warp to it. 3: BM the can and leave the system 4: Count to 30 5: Warp back in straight to the can. 6: Scram pew pew 7: Profit
Dunno if that is unique but gave me a few barge kills. |

This one is classic. People just can't let their cans go.

kk the best pilots in eve dont pilot the best ships in the game, they pilot the crappy ones and make them beat the good ones.. so go with that rule and you can't fail.

Lock people in highsec and then do nothing. I've actually had people fire at me and get concorded.

One time a hostile force where building up in the system next to us. By the looks of it around half of them where sitting on the gate.
At the same time they used local as mainchannel to communicate in.
Here comes the funny part:
Some of them talking in local said they where missing a FC and where waiting for one. I thought "what the heck, I can give it a try and typed with capital letters in local "jump jump". Then 5 sec later gates start going off and in jumps 2 bs and some support
Dont think I have to say what happend to them. But I laughed a little when the other half of the gang started asking in local where the other half went
