I must admit that I am frequently annoyed by the fact that one cannot see how ones skills and module fittings affect ones drones, yet one can readily see this information for all other weapon types.
Please fix this CCP I have no idea what the optimal and falloff is for the sentries on my Sniping Dominix, I can only guestimate using the bonus for the Omnidirectional midslot upgrade thingys & when you add rigs it gets really complicated.

I'd agree to this.
And add drone status indicators while in bay, decreasing the size the drones in space interface takes up by placing the indicators side by side instead of stacked on top of each other, and possibly the ability to detach the entire drone interface from the overview itself and move it somewhere else.

I wrote two petitions, but GMs send me there... :( Developers read this? We only need normal drones controls, not balans changes! Is it so hard to code? Some GUI changes...

I've given a little thought to a new drone UI: Click Here For Pic
On the left hand side we have control groups for drones, in this case there is a group of 3 Oger IIs and one of 2 Oger IIs. Each of these control groups will allow you to give commands to all the drones in that group. By default each drone type would be added to a separate group once launched i.e. all Oger II's in one group, Heavy Armor Repair drones another group. The player can split the groups with a shift-click, or combine them with a drag. Ideally it would remember your configuration after the drones are scooped as well, replacing destroyed drones with new ones of the same type.
On the top four basic commands can be issued to a group, Engage, Return and Orbit, Return to Drone Bay, Scoop to Drone Bay. These are the first four commands I thought of, but others could be added.
Hovering over each drone group would highlight the drones in that group in your drone overview. A right click would set AI mode.
Finally, Each drone could be controlled from the overview in exactly the same way we do it now (for those of you who like to micro manage)

Drone dev where are you?
Why no acknowledgments of these problems and or ideas?
The drone ui sucks... you know it, i know it, im sure ccp knows it yet not a word.
The ai for them STILL sucks and seems to get worse every patch... why?
For a destroyable (and for some primary) weapon this is really not fun.

Also, Caldari's missiles have the same problem last I checked. I actually do not fly Caldari, but I occasionally use missiles. I have to do the math to figure out how far my missiles will fly every time I'm flying a different type of missile or my skills improve.

When the icon is clicked the same menu functions that are in the overview would pop up. When the drones are active a mini drone monitoring screen would appear, which would be moveable by the pilot to any portion of the screen. This would allow better visibility and control of the drones during combat or other operations. An overload function for the drones is also needed.

The first idea of the OP is not something i desperately need but the other 2... Drone control is just so damn clumsy compared to everything else.
Using Guns? Ctrl-Click to target, F1-F8 to fire Using Drones? Ctrl-Click to target, right click on drone group, find and click 'launch drones', right click on 'drones in space', find and click 'engage target'.
This is just unfair but it gets much better with a little bit of laag. Once your drones are done with one ship, they spread out randomly and pull aggro from as many different ships as possible even if it means flying half across the room.
My whishes:
- hotkeys for drones and drone groups (launch, engage target, return to bay)
- better behaviour. Either have drones that are done with a ship return and orbit or have them focus on the same friggin ship...
