What role do these ships play? Are they worth training up (Im thinking yes, because they are the stepping stone for 'Dictors)
How would you use an Interceptor to its fullest potential, both PvE and PvP? I assume its a hit and run type vessel?

Well as far as for pvp they do serve there purpose, meaning it locks fast and is essientally just a tackler. As far missions, na no mwd in the missions. Works great for 0.0 ratting as long as you have a buddy with you.

Ceptors are PvP only, there is no use for them in PvE except for belt ratting in 0.8, 0.9 systems..
They are worth it ofcourse! They are meant to be fast lockers and fast moving bees to catch and keep target in place while dmg dealers do their job.
They are of course easy to pop if flown by inexperienced pilot, but in hands of pilot, who knows what he is doing, they are deadly..sometimes even too deadly!
They can reach fastest speeds and can lock pretty fast. they dont to as much dmg but they have their teeth.

They're useful for missions as well.
As for tips how to use them, make sure you understand the concept of speed tanking and you should be alright.

ceptors are a key part of any pvp gang as they lock fast and can hold down targets. So yes, they are way useful, much more so than an assault frigate

Ceptors are a butt load fun! You can solo 0.0 bs ratts in a sader, or a taranis.. (blood/sansha, and guristas/serpentis) thats the PVE part
For PVP they are werry usefull in holding people down, fast locking time, grate speed, and good agility.. Basic understanding of how to fly a ceptor is esential to stay alive! Some times you want to go close, other times you want to keep your range.. it all depends on what your tackling.
Befor i used to love flying my ceptors with a close range fitt.. (blaster ranis, ac claw, rocket crow's)
But i find using long range weapon systems keeps me alove longer.. mostly due to the popularity of NOS.
I'd recomend training up your navigation skills, when getting into a ceptor.. Speed is the key in thees shipps!

Ceptors are more or less the first 'real' ship for anyone who starts with the path of pvp. Some people stay on it and become really good with inty`s capable of holding down even nossing targets. Some move onto larger ships in gangs. ---

Ehh... 0.9 belts don't HAVE rats. Just going to point that out. Anyways, 'ceptors are group PvP boats-ridiculously fast, agile, essentially an expensive tackler (some go the other route and fit T1 frigates with all T1 non-named gear). Also, some of them can put down some serious DPS. Just don't argue with Mr. Officer Smartbomb, OK? That can lead to "rapid unscheduled ship disassembly events". ------------------------------ One more soldier off to war... And one Velator in my hangars. |

Solution: Never fit a gang tackler for general range less then 10km.
Most likely he will be webbed anyways, while your task is to lay point quickly and keep it. Thus orbit at 15km solves most of problems.

Is there any good sticky's that I can't find, or instructional threads to being a good (or better) interceptor pilot? I did manage to find some vague tackling video's on youtube, but it doesn't show much.
Anyone know?

I suggest getting in a condor/slasher or whatever tech 1 version of the inty your training, and fit it up like a ceptor. Few t1 guns, mwd, scrambler, whatever else in lows and go out to 0.0 and just get the feel for it. Try it in gangs and solo....you will die a lot but you will got a lot of experience for when you do get your ceptor.

I know that afterburning interceptors can be used to speedtank complexes, though with Revelations 2 complex changes, you have to find them first :P

It can operate as a hit and run vessel, but generally lacks the firepower. Usually, they're tacklers, and more often than not, don't come back from ops. They're there to get in quickly, hold the target down, and then dodge as much as they can for as long as they can.
However, with a bit of intensive skill training and some isk invested, they can hit stupid speeds and be damned near untouchable. Though, it doesnt take these stupid speeds to be effective - just as your CEO how he managed to lose an eagle while sitting 200km off a gate, aligned and at speed.
