Everyday I take a look at the CAOD forums for one reason. To see whats going on around EVE and to see where the big fights been at that night. But more and more often im coming onto CAOD and there are stupid people posting on their alts about stupid stuff. The most recent is band0fdevs posting hes not happy at the lack of a molle post this month.
Now I know CCP has said in the past that posting with alts will not be accepted anymore and thats when the display your corp/alliance info came in. Thats not working. People are creating stupid corps. band0fdevs character is in a corp called Band of Dev's. Posts by characters like this should not only be locked but should be removed. The purpose of the CAOD forums are being abused.

Hmm, to see what is going on...
Well, I want to see that also! So I look at BoB killboard, Razor and a few other KBs. That is quickly done, no big hassle with that. Also I look at the automated influence map and changes can be seen there also. And _then_ I look at CAOD and usually there is nothing at all which wasn't on the other sources first. But ... the kb's and the map are really helpful!
Lots of spam here, true enough.

I swear I was about to open this same thread and about the very same char (band0fdevs).
I know it's difficult to say for sure if someone is an alt as there are so many corps but PLEASE there're some who are so very obvious, and coincidentally they're some of the biggest trolls this forum has to suffer.

love to read this but seeing alts all the time is pretty sad
I mean goonswarm can be ennoying here but at least they use there main I personaly dislike it more when people act like that on a alt.
I mean you are already behind a char (nobody know you irl)so it is not your rl that is affected by your post here only your ingame here. so why post on a alt then I mean if your alliance don't want you to act on here then stay out or find a alliance that don't care about it.

TBHO, who cares. If someone post's trash with their "main" how is that any different then if they did it via an alt? "well this way we can send the person hate-mail ingame!" yeh that's pretty much it.
but you are right, these forums are becoming more and more a cesspool of unintelligible crap. (alt-threads, goon-threads, etc)

I may also read these forums to see whats going on.Apart from that I'm not interested in getting involved in topics on the CAOD forums because they are garbage.Specially recently.
Nothing can be done though,there will always be trollers, whiners, attention getting fake-quitters, and people who just want to ruin it for others.So I'll just slide back into the shadows and look for them in-game... |

Funny thing is, i could swear that alt trol... posting was started by bob corp members or pet alliances/corps.

From my empire days i was visiting CAOD to be informed about what was going on with wars or alliances etc. It was my only source of information since KBs and Map cannot tell the whole story. Since then Looking at CAOD is realy like looking into a garbage truck, mostly rubish with the certain existance of a $20 bill that nobody cares to search.
So nowadays and since COAD is like this since my first visit i seriously read it like a comic where alts and flame rule the universe. And of seing some real amound ofcourse silliness makes me feel smarter

The modetators are not rigid and stric enough !
They should just forum-ban people who post with a 1 man alt corp.
That would be easy, but they don't do that..
