With the new patch upgrades and nerfs, how much has changed with the Myrmidon shield/armor tank variants, and has anyone come up with any new ideas that improve either of the tanks?
Also, a lot of people throw around the preferences between using hybrid or projectile weapons on Myrmi tanks, due to the lack of ranged bonuses. Has the Rev patch changed this much, or did the weapons remain un-nerfed?
Thanks.

ANY TANK IDEAS! Doesn't matter what for, I just was enquiring as to the recent changes after the Revelations patch, and if there had been many changes to the general tank outfits. Was fishing for input on how much ANY tank would be affected, just for the Myrmi.

Muppet eh? The first post was very clearly laid out, stating WHAT kind of information it was after... If he had posted a reply asking for what reasons the tank would be used, that would have been simple to reply to... But he didn't... His reply was "Umm... Tank for what?"
You try and deduce any logic from what THAT could mean! Sorry, but I don't have a codex for deciphering gibberish.

There isnt a really big change to tanking an Myrmy op just keep in mind Eanm is changed to 36 cpu usage instead of 30. U can still dual rep and full t2 like usually.
Btw ive seen some passive shield tanking myrms and i was quite impressed !

Well the passive recharge on the shield tank is a tad bit longer, but the sig radius for a passive tank myrm is gigantic. As for the armor tank the only thing that really changes is an extra 6ish cpu added onto the EANM. Not a big difference per se depending on how you like to fit your high slots. My preference is autocannons. Does lovely work against people using drones against you and uses no cap.

Thanks for your input BANDID, I have also heard good things about PST's being used on Myrmi's, and was interested to see numbers from paper or experience, if anyone has any.
I haven't had a problem with dual MAR's, but the extra CPU from the EANM's can cause a bit of a hiccup for low skillers, I've noticed.

Swap the t2 eanm Fex to TS on or SS one or go from t2 cap injector towards electrochem there are many ways to cut down ure cpu usage, beside think about ure damage control dont need to allways kit t2. just play around with scrams/webs hardners etc,

So far, nobody that HAS provided help has been insulted. Those that couldn't help, had to rush to the defence of incompetence, or were otherwise illegible (such as yourself), only serve to insult themselves.

Tanking a myrmidon is a no-brainer really. And it didnt change with the patch. You really need to fit it for the circumstances offcourse, there is no single solution.

I never use weapons to tank. But if you are talking about what kind of weapons are best suited for the myrmidon, it also depends on how you are going to use it. As far as I know they didnt change the weapons in the patch. You are not fitting lasers are you?
The title says "looking fot the best myrmi tank". If you just stated the purpose of the best tank, instead of attacking the people who asked for it, you could be a lot closer by now...

2* Medium armor rep II 1* Explosive hardener II 1* Thermal hardener II 1* Kinetic hardener II 1* Damage control II
Medium capboost in medslots with 800 charges. But serieusly, what are you up against? Small gangs, fleet, npc, pirate? It's a normal question. _________________________________________________ Breetime

And this isn't one of them . The named cap booster uses the same amount of CPU but a little less grid. It has a slightly smaller capacity, but that's not an issue because there is no way you're getting another 800 in there . So named is the WTG, just not for the reason you suggest .
But personally I've yet to come even close to having a CPU issue on a Myrm.

I don't know how much it has changed....but this is my Myrmi tank setup. Ive only been playing 3 and a bit weeks though so don't expect tech 2 gear or crazy good setup :P
High: 4 X 650mm Prototype Artillery, 1 Medium Nos, 1 Drone Link Augmentator
Mids: 2 X Large Shield Extender, 1 Sensor Booster, 2 Active hardeners (Change based on mission)
Low: 5 X Shield Power Relays, 1 X Warp Core Stabilizer
Drones: 12 X Hammerhead I OR 5 X Ogre I
With this I need very little cap, and if I get my Nos going early I can run for agggess. Its been fine for high lvl 3 missions, and before I had my hardeners it was running well in a lvl 4.

If I wanted help from ignorant morons, I would have made the title of the post "Flamers, Noobz & Morons, PLZ provide wonderfully idiotic responses to straight forward questions here!". I don't encourage keyboard warriors, but will gladly give it back as good as they give, if warranted.
Why bother flaming, when honesty works so much better... To all the useless gits that felt they achieved something by putting their 2 cents in where it wasn't wanted (it wouldn't be a forum without the ignorant fools), you get NO apologies, you only get the justification of a very large and deserved "You can kiss my ***!".
To all those that HAVE provided meaningful and thought provoking answers to my question, many thanks, your informative answers will be taken into great consideration... Including those that provided positive or negative feedback towards my loathing of poorly structured sentencing.
To all the flamers that wanted to have their say... I'm going to say what I want to say right back, it's called freedom of speech... Freedom of speech doesn't have anything to do with age, and no, I'm not some 8 or 9 year old chump just because you don't like what I have to say, deal with it... and if you can't, you can just bite me!
But thanks again goes to those that DO understand common english above a primordial caveman level, and provided insight into exactly what was asked. THEY are the competent and knowledgable ones that keep Eve alive!

"Looking for Best Myrmi Tank"
I would always expect the first question to be asked if it was for small gangs, fleet, NPCing, missioning, etc. if not stated in the OP
why don't you calm down and when someone tries to clearify some information such has "tank for what?" you could be nicer and say something like

All I can say is "ouch, hurts" and "damn true".
Danica, let's see, where do we start. This ship is half Dominix, half Brutix. Well, kind of.
It can be set up as heavy gank platform (blasters, heavies), it can be set up as a sniper platform (rails, sentries), it can be set up as a NOS/Neut boat (with heavies for damage usually).
Due to the slot layout and general stats, even if it has an armor tanking bonus, it can be set up quite nicely as a passive shieldtank too, not only as an armor tank.
As shieldtank, it can be set up for high hitpoints/resists and mediocre recharge (best suited for gank platform) or for best overall recharge/resists combo, effectiveness greatly varies depending on incoming damage type. As an armortank, it's less suitable as a high hitpoints tank and much more suitable as a resists/repair tank. Best results you get when you combine it with NOS and a dual repper setup, of course... then depending what you use it for, PvP/missions/ratting, your mids can vary from damps/web/scram/MWD to many other things more suitable for PvE.
Obviously, for PvE, it's a lot more suitable as armortank against blood raiders, sansha and the like, and more useful as passive shieldtank against angels, guristas.
So... now apologize to all the people you angered with your complete and utter ignorance for the whole duration of your thread.

On behalf of Akita T, and only cause she is such a good sport, I apologise to all those narrow minded souls my deep-cutting comments may have insulted. I am truly, deeply sorry.
My point has been made, and thanks for your input Akita T.

On a full-passive, insano-tank Myrm, recharge is below horrible, if you don't NOS, you don't warp much But then again, you get battleship++ grade tank, with Dominix-drone grade damage (or, heck, throw a few arties in, as you don't get a bonus to any turret, you might as well pick the capless ones), so you really can't complain.
You can however mix a couple SPRs tops with 3-4 PDUs, maybe even add a DC in there, for a balanced hitpoints-based vs recharge-rate tank, and quite a decent cap recharge rate, enough to also run a full rack of hybrids long enough to clear the belt, warp and repeat the process from nearly full shield HPs.
It's really the most versatile battlecruiser of all eight available, so many slots and potential for either damage or tank of almost any kind, it's almost surreal.

Yes, and you are given basic inputs. You are given the new player tanking guide, telling you to fit armor reppers for armor tank, and shield boosters for shield tank and so on. Good reading I bet.

I'm sorry. I just had to point this irony out. You routinely claim you "hate badly formed sentences" yet continually begin your sentences with conjunctions and are, as my 11th grade English teacher once put, a "comma *****." Of course, said English teacher was made of win.
For the record, I do not claim to create good sentences. I only enjoy pointing out the ironies of those who seem to be blowing a bit too hard.

i use: highs 3x 250mm carbide railgun 1x drone link augmentor 1 1x salvager 1 1x tractor beam 1
mids 2x kinetic hardener 2 3x large shield extender 2
lows 3x shield flux 2 3x shield power relay 2
drones 5x warden 1
shield regen is 144 max with 75% kinetic resistance with pretty mediocre shield skills, drones kill the bigger ships themselves, rails needed for frigs mostly or to add some extra damage. (dps is 230+ depending on skills) i personnaly love this setup as its rather cheap (so i can get killed by pirates :p ) and deals enough damage for all spawns here as well as tank alot, especially when some bs start shooting the sentries.
oh and cap is a problem if you warp much and use the rails continuously.

The stupid thing is that you're completely wasting the awesome ship bonus that it gets and still can come up with a very good tank that in many ways does better than the armor tank.
Altho personally i still wouldn't like to fly without the full tackling gear and mwd.

Still can't decide whether I like the shield or armour tank better. The cap bonus is nice if I'm using rails with an armor tank, but the shield tank definately has it's advantages...
Definate bonuses in using projectile weapons for the cap bonus, but not sure if I want to invest that much time training to specialisations in projectiles for just a Myrmi.
Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Originally by: Nosenhojh I don't know how much it has changed....but this is my Myrmi tank setup.

PVE Semi-passive:
4x750mm 'scout' artillery 1xtractor 1xsalvager
mids: 4x LSE II, 1x inv. field II
lows: 5x spr II, 1x PDU II
rigs: shield extending/regen mix (I like 2 purgers and one extender, to add some buffer to the already fairly large shield capacity, but that's just me)
Even after the bc shield time nerf, this setup does very well. If you run the tractor beam continuously with the inv. field you'll run out of cap eventually though.

ARGH! i had a whole post written insulting the **** known as the OP but the browser ate it. (probably for the best since i wouldn't want to be banned)
so yea, pretty much all templates for the myrm tank were posted already so i wont pull one of my ass. (tho your head seems lodged way up yours, perhaps its time for some air?)
basic changes last patch as some said were T2 EANM -> 36 cpu and the increase of BC regen from 10xx to 1450 i believe. Also active hardeners got a few CPU shaved off so should make some active hardener setups easier.
thats that. nothing else changed on the myrm.
so please for the love of everything holy - learn to read patch notes, get some friends online so you dont have to litter the forums with your attitude or lose the attitude and mellow out.

If you were playing it safe and smart, you'd use the NOS systems to suck your victims cap dry so they couldn't activate a SB, BEFORE launching your drones.

To be honest my Myrm setup is no different now from before Rev 2 as I have seen no need to change it as the patch notes showed nothing that would warrant another look at it. Pretty standard NOS and Warfare Link Setup. The low's being the standard 2 MAR II's, Exp/Therm/Kin hardener II's and DC II but in my opinion it's the mid slots where the fun begins with the Myrm.

cap boosters give enough cap to use enough sb to kill heavy drones with 2 bonus to hp?(ship and durability skill)

Shield one is almost immune to NOS, Armor one has more utility, both have about the same tank, although armor lasts as long as you have charges. I've both of them atm and love both of them.
Drones usually do enough damage. Use nosses and neuts while they are still overpowered. I feel that they'll be (and should be) nerfed soon.
