I for one really look forward to the tourney. Even if i prob wont be in any team it was always fun to watch the matches.
And jep, teh Stream at the beginning of the last tourney was a complete joke. After they changed it, it got a bit better but was far from perfect. esp when nice matches where in line. But i have confidence that the eve-tv team learns from their mistakes. Don't disappoint me

yeah rules sucks... here's mines : - 5 guys on each side - you CAN warp out, but you must get back in or surrender - people MUST scramble to kill things
today there's nothing to do with a real skirmish engagement, it sucks... òò

The last tourney was entertaining in places... MC managing to WTFBBQ their own players with their nanomach, The Ronin pulling out four navy vexors, and the sheer perverted voyeurism of watching IAC throw their Impoc-shaped nuts on the bonfire every round until they eventually got roasted...
The dominance of BOB in the tournament perhaps owes something to their ability to fit their ships and pilots with supremely expensive and powerful equipment that other competitors can't afford. Perhaps it would benefit everyone if the whole tournament was ruled "T1/meta/T2 only"? That said, they still have some of the best pilots in the game, but at least everyone else would have to find a fresh reason to complain if they win again.
I'd also be interested to watch a tournament where each round was tweaked to have slightly different rules to promote variety in the encounters - for example, a T1 cruiser/fittings round, or a speed-fit round. Yes yes granted the rules and fittings for these would have to be VERY closely scruitinised and well thought out in advance, and it would increase the workload on the organisers and the participants, but it would spice things up a lot.

Hey Irving, get your facts straight, it was Nebula Rasa not Ronin.

At best, VERY BEST, tournament fittings amounted, per team, to 15 billion ISK. This is counting implants, around 2 bil a set, and faction ships. Modules were relatively cheap (at worst, COSMOS fittings).
BoB did not win because of teh equipments. Alot of alliances, including IAC, matched them in terms of isk thrown in the pot. In the second tourney, I was flying a Heretic (interdictor) for IAC with a full Halo set.
BoB won because, well, they were the better fighters and tacticians. All of the big boys brought out the big guns, BoB isn't the only alliance in the game that has had 10b+ isk to burn on this in the past.

2nd, for me. 1st lacked the decent footage of it going on, while the 3rd was completely wrecked by the first 2 days having the screwed up Jalipo stream. #2 was awesome, though. --------

Commentators from the 3rd tournament were excellent (but lacking Stavros), but Jalipo is a hate crime performed against the Eve community. Bring back the commentators from the last tournament, but use a real streaming video option, not the pay-to-view poor quality Flash POS.

I would like it to be a short, brutal, reflection of everything Eve has to offer.
- Fifty person teams - Each team starts in its own system - All teams compete at once and can ally and backstab as they see fit - You get sovereignty the moment you have a tower majority - Towers don't claim sovereignty when reinforced - Winner is determined by the team that has sovereignty in the most systems for the longest time - You fight with whatever you are able to carry - Podding allowed
I'm not sure how long they should be given to fight. Perhaps a weekend so 48 hours.

I don't know if we're going to. I'll leave it up to the lads to decide. I know that we've got some very good pilots, some of whom I'd put solo vs any other pilot in Eve and see them win. However the alliance is new and we've just not worked together often enough to form an effective enough team for the tourny.
As I say, I'll leave it up to the guys. If I've got a decent connection I'll probably fly in it.
